@Jinky1888 Um, I don't know what it was meant to mean. But I can tell you that for months and months, David absolutely RAVED about this album: how could he not!? It was, and is a brilliant album. And yes, he was paid a wage on national television to talk out his arsehole. ;-)
Paolo was apparantly meant to take over his fathers fish and chip shop before becoming famous and going down the musical route. I suspect that was what it was about, but totally agree, this guy talks out his ass.
@Jinky1888 I'm not entirely sure, but I believe that Paolo Nutini's father owned a fish and chip restaurant/ shop. But because of his voice and fame, he's not running the family business. I think that that's what he meant anyway. It's kind of weird that he didn't explain it though. =)
