I believe, and just my opinion based on whatever facts I have heard... that Mars actually lost it's atmosphere when it's core solidified causing it to have very little gravity. There for any ice that melts will just evaporate instantly and be lost to the vacumes of space. Earth may very well resemble mars much much later then sooner.

Because it's when you look at earth from the moon or Mars and you realize how small it is, then it puts into perspective how small our problems really are and stupid. Human space exploration is CRUCIAL to our survival
