"Enjoy an amazing starry-night view in the comfort of your own home."
Or... go look outside and see the real thing.... Designed especially for those who have forgotten that there really is a world outside their front doors away from their Nintendos and 64" TV's
@mrbillhicks I live in NYC. Between all the city lights and the smog it's hard to see a lot of stars here even on clear nights. Something like this is nice to relax too during the times when I can't escape to the country to see the real thing, or perhaps for cold winter nights when sitting outside for a long time isn't really an option.
How very true and observant of you.... But at least I don't check out videos of guys in gyms and Phil Collins... Faggot is the word flirting around my lips tulip....
@3zib Yes, the ignorant piece of shit is pathetic ...but it is not sad, people like him refuse to acknowledge everyone here noticing his stupidity. And, unfortunately for his parents, they couldn't fix stupid!
@mrbillhicks mrbillhicks. I think you forgot the all the cheap crap in your room are made by my fellow Chinese, who are hard working and paid dearly with our health. This is the only reason that you can see the "real thing" because your environment is not air polluted and you don't live in a heavily light polluting city. I Just bought this for my Factory workers so they can have some relaxing time away from making YOUR Nintendos and 64" TV's. You ignorant red neck.
Well well, what do we have here ? Java La Cupp who claims to be Chinese and has just bought an Homestar for his factory workers who can't enjoy the real thing due to the pollution created by America....
But.... Java baby, 22, lives in.... you guessed it... the good old U.S of A So I guess there is no factory where his workers slave day and night to make my Nintendo. I fact my guess is that Java is unemployed, at home all day while his Mom slaves to earn his pocket money...
@mrbillhicks ok it really come to this. So here, I am a Researcher in Silicon Valley. I work for silicon chip manufacturing in China. So is part of my job to come to the US and work with the researchers here. I registered a Fake account in the US because there is no youtube in China. Also no, America did not create the pollution in China, it was by me and my fellow Chinese who desperately want to gain material goods since we never had any. and still don't. Not all human are born with US luxury
@mrbillhicks What the fuck is wrong with you? I do own a Orion StarMax 127mm Equatorial Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope with many accessories, I don't get to use it often because of many factors and poor conditions. Something like an artificial light show for my grandkids would be nice. What I don't have is a miserable redneck piss poor attitude like yours. You act like a fucking deadbeat who should have gotten spanked when you were a little fucker. Your parents didn't discipline your lame ass!
And to think that a twat like you managed to have grandchildren !!! If I were them I would be demanding a DNA test.... I certainly hope you don't use the language you display on here in front of those poor unfortunate kids...
By the way... Are you a Silicon valley researcher like my buddy Java.... Hey Java, the pollution in your country isn't helped by the fact that when you are not breeding like demented rabbits you are all smoking your fucking heads off...
@mrbillhicks You are not them ...fortunately for my family ...otherwise I would have to slap you stupid ...Oh, I mean stupider! You should consider fertilization ...help the world become a better place.
And, I really don't give a shit what your lame ass hopes! What an ignorant jerk you are; just look at what your idiotic post started. Your lack of any sort of kindness or consideration has brought me into your lame piece of shit existence ...now I get to call you an ass all the time.
Mine doesn't work anymore, it was cool at the beginning but it's so simple, the effect is nothing like in this video.. If one day they produce a new version with color and high-res images like hubble telescope then I'd give it 5 stars
i have the homestar pure edition and it really is beautiful the only thing i regret not getting the Pro is that i don't have falling stars in my version T_T still... i'm hoping to get some of the other discs (moon and solar system) though it's so much more expensive when i buy it outside of japan T_T
I like how everybody is defaming you like it's some pride-related matter. Jesus, shut up you twats. He didn't ask if you were proud of your japanese heritage nor did he defame it.
Thank you! At least you're not tying nonsense to what I said.
What I said was not meant as an insult or whatever. I'd really like someone to explain what's going on here, because I'm seriously clueless. What the heck did I do? All I really said was the same as what rangeclerk said, but in different manner.
Well if you want to sell this product in the United States one needs to have the spokesperson speak American so we Yankees can understand the product.
No, he had it right. US language is an American dialect. The UK speaks English. I realise that this is splitting hairs, but it must be noted considering the differences in the two dialects.
Other new features include a digital multi-function remote control, and a truly random (not fixed) shooting star function.
Of course, such high celestial technology doesnt come cheap. While no price has been determined, the Homestar EX is expected to sell for over $800 when released.
Though it wont be released until the end of the year 2008, the Homestar EX uses large star discs, is a much higher-quality home planetarium than anything else in the Homestar series, and is bright enough to see the stars clearly with the lights on in the room!
Home Star Pro is a fantastic detailed image of our night sky, provided the room is Pitch Black for best effect. You can make it a small detailed image, By shining it about 1 meter away from the wall, it looks i bought it from Hong Kong, which I Bought online from toys brando com hk
Well, I goit one through Efston Science in Toronto, and it works just a well as advertised. A small or medium room with an 8 foot high ceiling is recommended -- and the room needs to be dark. You need a small laser pointer if you're showing off the sights to your friends, otherwise you have all you really need for a fine show. Not mentioned is the 15 minutes of background music on the enclosed audio CD. Very soothing...
i bought a Homestar during my wait at the airport in Japan. My question is why is the Homestar Pro more expensive? I only got the lower version. They even have a version for the bathtub.... and it emits light down into the tub....reflecting on the water.....giving the illusion of you bathing in space water...unfortunately i don't soak in the tub much....
I think this unit is also sold under the "Uncle Milton Toys" name for about $130.00, by several different vendors.
What I am curious about is whether or not the viewer gets a realistic illusion of travelling through space in a spaceship. Do the stars move too fast? Fast enough? Does anyone know the banswer to that question?
I have been doing much research on this item. For one it appears that this unit is the best planetarium type projector on the market right now. It is distributed in Japan under the Sega name. Judging by the shape of the output orafice, this unit is designed to project on a flat surface. I would gather that because it is a projector, sure it can make the wall to ceiling transition, but more than likely with distortion (hence the reason why real planetariums have domed ceilings).
You are precisely correct. I own a Sega Homestar and it will focus on a flat surface, but will start to distort if you attempt to transition from a wall to a ceiling, or even try to project it across a ceiling at an oblique angle.
As for the question about the star movement speed, it appears to make a complete spin on its axis within 15 minutes. It is a noticeable amount of spin, but not overly fast and it is not adjustable.
Looks like R2-D2.
