@Canyarem friends have Ducati,s,good bikes for perormance image,but a lot of niggling electrical faults you dont get on jap bikes..very few riders can outride jap bikes,euro bikes sell on image not on reliability,check out nick sanders he rode through the desert on a R1,Dukes are good for posing on...if you are hard core buy a R1,Tom Cruise owns a Ducati...... enough said
Got a 2009 ZX6R, it's a blast to ride on track/street, and (for me) it's one of the best-looking sportbikes I've ever had. But the sound and looks of that Triumph are winners.
still recon the best Triumph is my 955 daytona sprint modifid to a streetfighter takeaway the fairing and add twin round headlights and wow TRIUMPH is a class bike and to own one gives you a feeling that a jap bike can't long live the british built street machines we love them BOB (best of british)
Everything he said about the triumph being better... I disagree with. I think the kawi looks better, sounds better and is simply a better bike in every way. The triumph is really pretty damn ugly. Kawi FTW
the new zx6r's are so uncomfortable i tihnk...i have an 08 and the seat feels much better than one on a 2011 and compared to a cbr its no doubt which one is more comfortable...the cbr...
ive got the 2009 kawazaki green zx6-r very good bike only downside is IMO the hard ride no play in it what so ever but more forgiving than the older ninjas of past years
Just bought a triumph 675 and believe it or not I love it corner and Turning is excellent better than the zx6 because of the narrowness of the bike and much lighter. Few of my buddy have zx6 and I tested it myself.
@MrMartinLee1 kawasaki very common very reliable just like all the other Japanese bike makers. Triumph not very common more soul nearly as reliable as the jap bike probably get a better finish on the paint on triumph, better engine more torque and a joy to ride but wrists will hurt on long rides. And its British I would test ride them both if your interested but i think you should go for the Triumph.
Saying you don't like the silver bits on the the 675 Daytona is like saying you don't think Miss America looks as hot in a silver bikini... it's a gorgeous bike nonetheless :)
It really is depending on what you like and what you want. Some people prefer comfortable over looks or vise versa. This was more of a advertise for the ninja. It is true many people owns Kawasaki and other brand motorcycle over Triumph. As for me my opinion I like the 675 over the ninja because it has this unique look and is very sexy compared to other bikes. Choose what's best for you, research research....
No matter what bike you choose to get, it's still a bike. Pick a bike that that fits you and your riding style, not one that looks better, sounds better, or is "seen on every street corner." Kawasaki makes great motorcycles, so does Triumph. Stop trying to be a fan boy and just ride.
I have a 2006 Daytona in gold, and it is fantastic. The ZX-6R back then was the 636 motor that was well liked, and that was one of the other bikes I tried at the time, but the styling and sound of the Triumph won me over. Either way, you can't really go wrong, but I am disappointed that Triumph doesn't offer the colors they offered first year except for red. The colors they have now, you can get on any bike, but the gray and gold in '06 made the bike truly unique.
@diseasicon You can still get the white on blue though yah? Too racy for me anyway I have an '02 Sprint with Powermax exhaust, love it but my next bike will be even more upright, the 1050 Tiger.
I just completed today my test ride in all 600cc category including these two. My favorite? Daytona 100%. why? It has everything that all 600 have plus the style and sound are unique. Will buy next week.
Ive got a gixxer atm, its my first bike and its nice and everything, great to start on for sure! but im sick of everyone having one everywhere i go, so im trading up for a daytona next to have something a bit different :-)
they seem relatively the same imo. i'm all about comfort and neither one of these bikes are slow but i'd rather drive the kawasaki. i believe comfort is a big issue if your riding and if your not comfortable it'll be less fun.
im a gixxer rider, and an englishman, so i should say triumph. but i think il actually go for that kawasaki as my next bike simply because you can get one for about £4300 in the uk, in great condition and with low miles. Its going to be more comfortable and (probably) a TiNy bit more reliable (though everyone tells me triumph are solid now). only once i learn to get rid of these FUCKING chicken strips though, grrrrr
I want a bike for the 1000 km round trip that I make every 3 weeks
I'm a life long dirtbiker, new to street bikes. My friends all ride crotch rockets but I don't want one because of the seating position. I'm 6'5" with long legs. I'm thinkin a Honda ST (I'm a honda guy when it comes to dirtbikes). Is there a better bike for someone as tall as me? Any advice is would be great, I don't feel like studying every bike to death.
@ronmann606 bike mad friend of mine used to have a honda de ville as his commuter bike, described it as the flying armchair. His z750 was his fun bike and the honda he loved for its comfort. Also maybe look at triumph sprint st and gt. I have similar height issues in that im 6'1 and built like a gibbon.
@ronmann606 word is that the 01-02 honda interceptor is a great ST bike that is an icon for many, smooth and powerful and big, you can prolly get one for like $2500 and there are still plenty out there so parts availability should be great. I gots an FZ6R and its plenty of power and room for nooby 6'2", but you gonna pay more for it since its a newish model.
I own a 2009 ninja zx 6r, I will sell it for a 2011 daytona 675r, this ninja is good but i'm tired of engine that only begin to pull from 8000 rpm. The torque that my ninja has at 8000 rpm, the daytona got it at 4400 rpm, world of difference.
Going with my heart...Triumph Daytona is the best 600 series bike out there...beautiful, best handling, sounds the best....just dead sexy. But to each their own! Long as your on two wheels and ain't being stupid
Dont know man the way that engine sounds is sOOOweet,but I dont think it would matter because my 600 has a Yoshimura exhaust system on it which sounds alot sweeter.
@lanlug ahahah triumph has a bigger engine than kawasaki, and daytona is afterall not a real 600cc because its got 75cc more than the others, and that is pretty much when you compares the bikes up to each other.
I'd say the zx6, i used to own a street tripple... Was a great ride, but parts/customs are just a pain. Also, low sided the bike ona track, small amount of dmg... Took 2 months 2 get new footpegs ! i mean seriously 2 months!
I jumped from a 2007 ZX-6R to a 2010 Daytona 675. The Triumph has the better performance but parts are not readily available. So far I've had to have frame sliders custom made.
Well it's clear that the kawi is better, but i like the 675 appearance and sound. Not really a fan of 07+ zx6rs. Although I do wish my 06 zx6r had the 07's back fairing.
pff, getting an zx6r as soon as i turn 18, An older model seeing its gonna be my first bike and im not that rich xD but its coming there as soon as possible :D
@Regret696 Why 6R...just get the 2011 ZX10R when it comes out. You're only as fast as how much you twist the throttle....for example me shifting on may way to work.....waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ...................waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..................... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. :-p
I'm thinking of buying the 675. It looks great, it's 'unique', it has nice torque in the midrange and low range so you don't have to rev it like an idiot (since I won't be driving it on the road more then on a track) for it to go anywhere. It might not be too comfortable, but I won't be using it for touring 100's of km's anyway. =D
I figured itd be uncomfortable but at least its there as an option. Do you have to buy it aftermarket or does it just come with a cover that you can take off when needed?
oh, and the slipper clutch, if the trumpy had the slipper clutch then how could it not lose, i love the riding position, but thats just me and i am biased, love my 675
@JRMC48 are u BLIND???, the 675 looks fucking amazing, ur 636 does look great tho in the front, no reason why anyone, other than brand loyalty & or the seat height/aggressive positioning, would pick the kawa over the 675, the triumph is just superior, across the board, period
with the zx6r reaching to a speed of 165 easily, i can safely say its quite sufficient for my needs... Difference between the 2 bikes is peanuts. All newewr 600's are similar.
@wolfyys Ahh...yea. WTF did you think I was talkin about? I called it the zx6r because that's how many cc's they had from 03-06 and people back then just called um 636's. And yes I realize this one is an 09 with 599cc's and 115whp. Thanks for crossing my t's and dotting my i's. I'm glad you cleared up all of that extreme confustion..lol u were kidding right?
@wolfyys I called it a 636 because I used to ride with someone who had an 05 and he always referred to it as his "636"(guess it just stuck with me) but you are correct the 09 is 599cc and is a zx6r just like all of the 600cc class ninja race bikes including the "636's"(03-06 model). So pat yourself on the back for correcting my typo. For the record: sometime. I call my zx10r a zx10 or 10R for short, is that ok?
@wolfyys get real. You should spend less time correcting mundane details on petty youtube comments and more time riding your own bike.(if ya have one) I never commented on this vid with intent to argue about something, always I was simpily saying was I would prefer the ninja to the triple ooops...I mean the 2009 ZX6R vs the Triumph Daytona 675. lol I mean seriously... really??
@wolfyys sorry I really can't F'ing type this morning. But that is why I called it the 636, because in 03-06 that's how many cc's the zx6r had. from previous comment.
Yes, very comfortable while riding. Just adjust the rear sets (footpegs) a bit. You will be rather uncomfortable at a dead standstill. But if you're buying the bike to look cool sitting on it, then you're doing it for the wrong reasons.
At 6ft I can sit with flat feet on my CBR600RR. Most 600s are the same.
I am heavily biased,as ive been riding a 09 zx6r for 18 months,top bike,so happy i didnt follow the sheep and buy a cbr 600,had a go on a mates 06 cbr,it felt crap,cramped,and slow,and uncomfortable,i think the 07 cbr is far better though,I know lads who have had Dukes,and Benneli's and have had mega grief with em,and gone back to jap bikes,the only decent euro bikes are bmw,ktm

mellifluous - lol - never heard of that one myself. :) If I buy one of these bikes, then I'm gonna use that word to describe it. Hehe

zx6r, Daytona suzuiki gtrx 750, r1 or r6?

@endlesstime41 The YZF R1 is 1000 cc, that's a big difference my friend =P

Do the zx6r's even have a passenger seat?
Coltsfan18291 1 year ago
@Coltsfan18291
Yep you can put it on, but a 600 with 2 persons on it is very unconfortable on longer distance
DerOdka 1 year ago
@DerOdka
I figured itd be uncomfortable but at least its there as an option. Do you have to buy it aftermarket or does it just come with a cover that you can take off when needed?
Coltsfan18291 1 year ago
oh, and the slipper clutch, if the trumpy had the slipper clutch then how could it not lose, i love the riding position, but thats just me and i am biased, love my 675

they both have horrible front ends now they dnt look good! :( im sticking to my 05 kawi ninja zx636 never selling my baby lol
JRMC48 1 year ago
@JRMC48 are u BLIND???, the 675 looks fucking amazing, ur 636 does look great tho in the front, no reason why anyone, other than brand loyalty & or the seat height/aggressive positioning, would pick the kawa over the 675, the triumph is just superior, across the board, period
destined2sleep 1 year ago
@destined2sleep Hmm? Kawi hasn't made a 636 since 2007, I think. This is a 599cc.
tuber12321 1 year ago
@tuber12321 JRMC48 has a 636, i was responding to JRMC48, not the zx6r, and they stopped making the 636 in 2005 i think

@randomhero4u69
with the zx6r reaching to a speed of 165 easily, i can safely say its quite sufficient for my needs... Difference between the 2 bikes is peanuts. All newewr 600's are similar.

I take the 636 hands down. No hate on the Triumph, but the Kawi's got it beat.

@Srirachaa 636?, you mean the ZX-6R - they haven't made a 636 since the B1H

Srirachaa 1 year ago
@Srirachaa You made no reference to the older 636, Ive met no end of people who keep calling the ZX6R a "636"
Finally, your comment looks like you were comparing it with the Triumph, that gave me the impression that you were doing it as well.
wolfyys 1 year ago
@wolfyys I called it a 636 because I used to ride with someone who had an 05 and he always referred to it as his "636"(guess it just stuck with me) but you are correct the 09 is 599cc and is a zx6r just like all of the 600cc class ninja race bikes including the "636's"(03-06 model). So pat yourself on the back for correcting my typo. For the record: sometime. I call my zx10r a zx10 or 10R for short, is that ok?
Srirachaa 1 year ago
@Srirachaa " So pat yourself on the back for correcting my typo. For the record: sometime. I call my zx10r a zx10 or 10R for short, is that ok?"
Don't worry, I already have patted myself on the back :P, as for the ZX10 name, yes that is fine.
wolfyys 1 year ago
@wolfyys get real. You should spend less time correcting mundane details on petty youtube comments and more time riding your own bike.(if ya have one) I never commented on this vid with intent to argue about something, always I was simpily saying was I would prefer the ninja to the triple ooops...I mean the 2009 ZX6R vs the Triumph Daytona 675. lol I mean seriously... really??
Srirachaa 1 year ago
@Srirachaa "you should spend less time correcting mundane details on petty youtube comments and more time riding your own bike"
maybe you shouldn't have a nervous breakdown when I simply point out you've made an error.
wolfyys 1 year ago
@wolfyys hardly a nervous breakdown. Only your ego would correct such a minor error.

"hardly a nervous breakdown. Only your ego would correct such a minor error"
I agree, I would have written two very long winded replies because someone pointed out that a ZX6R isnt a 636.
I would have called another biker rather than simply correct them, all because my ego is so big..oh shit..it sounds like you :P

@Srirachaa You made a factual mistake and he corrected you. No need to be a shlub over it.
zorecati 1 year ago
@zorecati no need to imply I'm a shlub when you don't even know me. As far as I was concerned, this little agrument over nothing ended a week ago.
Srirachaa 1 year ago
@wolfyys sorry I really can't F'ing type this morning. But that is why I called it the 636, because in 03-06 that's how many cc's the zx6r had. from previous comment.

i am 5'3 ft do u think i could fit the ZX-6R?
DOPOPI 1 year ago
@DOPOPI
