What a voice!!!! Why did one hardly hear of her in the West? She certainly is as good (if not better) than Obratzova.

For a basement contralto, she handles the high notes very well, and her low-end power leaves the mezzos in the dust. Delightful and different.

Very rarely do you find singers that change your life forever but I have found one and her name is Tamara Sinyavskaya. She is the best Soviet opera singer i've ever seen :D. All hail the USSR.
