I went in there to send a domestic wire transfer and the bank manager started interrogating me not only about what I was going to use the wire for, but she also had the nerve to start asking me about my deposits over the last 60 days. Hey i Know people who work in bank and it sounds like Alex got a Suspicious Transaction Report Filed on him and Gerald Celente got a Currency Transaction Report file don him. IRS forces Banks to file a CTR (Currency Transaction Report) when cash is deposited or withdrawn that's over 10,000.00 & Suspicious transaction report is filled by a teller that feels suspicious of the transaction.

Went to withdraw 5k out of my bank account. My son needed dental work & if I paid cash could get 20% off... I went to the bank, the cashier asked me, why not write a check? So I told her again, that it had to be cash, & while I was not excited about driving through town in my car with 5K on me, I wanted the 20% discount. She then recommends a cashier's check? I told her if she will not give me cash, give me a cashier's check for the entire amount I had in their bank. Only then did I get my 5K.

Its totally true that the banks ask you what you're going to do with your money when you go to withdraw it. Fucking banks. FUCK EM. In the UK the bank tellers ALWAYS ask you what you're going to do with a sizeable amount of money. It is TRULY NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. Tell the banks nothing. I don't know, I'm as "fed" up with bankers as these guys but I just called my bank. They said there was no new rule prohibiting me from walking right up to a teller at my bank and withdrawing as much as I need from my balance (limits are in place for ATM and strictly online accounts with more interest). FDIC insurance to 250k remains. Perhaps Jones and Celente are given a problem because of who they are? Or maybe Jones and Celente want a run on the banks? Anybody else have thoughts here?

@pmarie2003 The whole $10,000 amount is if you deposit $10,000 in CASH. If you don't deposit this, then no report is filled. Furthermore, it is at the discretion of to file the report it is not mandatory. (SOURCE: Worked in finance and accounting for several years.)
