About the gurney street location. I had my doubts at first, but I looked it up on google maps andif you go up the block a little past east sterner street on google map street view you can see, on the right hand side where all the overgrowth is, remnants of the old black fence, now rusted and with vegetation growing around it. Plus where gazzo lets rocky out of the car, you can see a discoloration in the side walk, where it goes from cobble to cement to cobble again, aligned with the tp poles.

No every interior shot had to be shot in Fuckin' Los Angeles. Why The Fuck is that? In fact, maybe Hollywood, wants to buy the room from the shooting location, but it's bad for business to the current owners. Meaning, they'd need to disrupt the current business because of movie making, and that is never a good business. Hope that explains.
