  • You know your fans love you when you break your guitar strings before their eyes and they still call out for "one more."

  • When he plays Amaze Disgrace, the guitar explodes...it can't handle the sheer awesomeness that is Joey Eppard and self-destructs.

    New album October 11th, y'all!!

  • I'm finally gonna be able to see them on Sept. 12 2011 at the Rams Head in Baltimore, Md. I cant wait.

  • 36 crazyfists shirt :D

  • LOVE this band!

  • Holy fuck!

I just decided to check these guys out about five minutes ago. I'm already COMPLETELY blown away! Incredibly strong groove, virtuosic playing, stunning vocals/melodies, original sound....cool!

  • lol wow that long vocal note was awesome!! percussion on the singer XD

  • God damn. This band is amazing. The singer sounds perfect. No fuck ups at all. Good to see there are still good bands that don't need to use fucking pitch correcting and shit.

  • Come back to Maxwells please so I can see another show live! Or at least NYC! You guys are the best.

  • I saw these guys a while back during a Progressive Nation Tour. I forget what year. They opened the show(before Between the Buried and Me, Opeth, then Dream Theater, and even though the sound guy didn't know what he was doing, this band was amazing. Near the end of the set, the drummer and percussionist had a little "competition." It was awesome.

  • @RIAB4 dude, I totally agree.

I was at their show in Vancouver for Prog Nation '08, and it blew my mind. The energy that they put into their performance captivated the audience, and had everyone cheering for them, despite just hearing them for the first time.

Like seriously, that percussionist dude had more energy that everyone in the audience combined, and their guitarist did this wicked flamenco guitar thing, and tore his strings off his guitar at the end.

    Thumbs up for inspirational bands!

  • @RIAB4 All those bands? At once? Goddamn, talk about a proggasm.

  • Ohhhh I wish I could go. I would love to see em.

  • im going to see tomorrow i cant wait

  • They are one of THE best bands to see live. If any of you havent seen them yet, you need to. I saw them with Between the Buried and Me and they totally tore it up. :)

  • Three is one of the best bands out there. I mean they have fucking Joey Eppard with them, what an amazing musician. Being a drummer myself I like the drummer's style also. Joey has an amazing voice and guitar power. I hope this band sometime comes to Puerto Rico, if not I'm gonna have to go to them, like always : /....

  • Back to 4. Unfortunately the other percussionist, Joe Stote has left the band.

  • He seemed unnecessary anyway... and my girl has a thing for bald guys, so good riddance :S Still, amazing song, amaze disgrace...

  • Three?

    But there's four?

  • You mean 5. (two drummers)

  • they started out as 3 (hence the name) then they added a 2nd guitarist and percussionist making it 5. Joe Stote quit reight before a show in Kingston, NY on Black Friday 2008. (discounted shirts and i got it signed)

  • the second drumer didnt do anything besides hit shit anyway he dont even count hes useless

  • He's not a drummer, he's a percussionist. He adds to the the drum melodies. Listen to the album version and there's some rhythms there that couldn't have been accomplished with only one drum.

  • you cant ecomplishes a drum beat with one drum but with one drummer you can and theres seems to doing a damn good job caue when i seen them live they sounded better than the other time i saw them with the "percussionist"

  • I'm sorry, I don't understand a word you're saying.

Try it again, with punctuation this time. A dictionary wouldn't kill you either.

Or, if you don't speak english natively, use the google translator.

  • ur a dumbass im from the us i speak pefectly clear english ur just a dumbass

  • Actually, I live in Canada. Note that I live in Canada, not from the country though.

Also, if dumbasses are from the U.S., then what are you doing listening to a band from the U.S. in the first place?

  • That doesn't even deserve a response. That doesn't make any sense. but the other guy is right, most of the things i've seen the percussionist do could be covered by the other drummer alone. I'm a drummer and I can tell he's defiantly good enough.

  • Oh, he certainly is. I'm not denying Chris' amazing drumming skills, I was just saying that the percussionist added to the rhythm. It's called "layering" people.

  • Why hello douchey!

  • I baking powder?

  • Ive seen then 4 more times since my last post. And Yes, Theyre that amazing. Thank God I live in their area of NY and get to go to their "home town shows"..which have had a dissapointing turnout of around 100 people or so..whcih I just dont get. Theyre going to get bigger, its only inevitable. Linkin Park was rejected by over 100 labels before being signed...so be patient and spread the damn word about 3! this song will always be thier monster track..peace.

  • that must be awesome to have seen them so much. i hope they do another tour sometime soon cuz im dieing to see 3 for the first time. cuz wow, this is an awesome performance.

  • but............the labels were right in not signing Linkin Park......................they suck ass, but anyway: these guys are decent instrumentally, but the vocals are fucking annoying. While vocals is a large oversite, it dosnt ruin the band for me................................

  • Joey Eppard can sing his ass off dude. You gotta get your ears checked man.

  • This.. was the most awesome performance of a song I've ever seen in my life. This doesn't just sound like the stuidorecording.. it sounds so much better. And on top of that.. I cannot find words to discribe that. Genius!

  • I also "discovered" them at the Prog Nation tour in May. Since then, Ive been obsessed with them. got a chance to talk to Joey, lead man, at the Orange Co. Fair show in july. This band deserves soo much more recognition. They are truly unique in an age of commercial crap music. Rock on!

  • So many things about this song are just so amazing. I love how it's generally their closer. When I saw them at the last show of Progressive Nation they went all out and it was fucking amazing.

But one part that I absolutely love and think needs to pointed out is what the lead guitarist with the electric does in the last segment of the song. He plays the chords and then spins his guitar on his whammy bar making a unique bending sound.

Live, he spun around and it was fucking awesome.

  • That is something new I've never seen before. Maybe it will become something many good singers who can vocalize will do, m'hmm? Have some guy stand behind them and hit their backs in a beat to add some unique sound to their voice. Would be cool.

  • its a different style of drumming that there mixing in just like they do with organic and electric guitar just fucking unbeleveable

  • I got to see them before Opeth... best show of my life. 2 AMAZING bands in one night.

  • Hey this is an honest question

What's that point of having 2 (1 and a half?) drummers?

  • The other guy does percussion and keyboards.

  • I know - but why two percussionists? 3 doesn't sounds particularly needy of 2 independant drummers. Am I missing something?

  • He does mostly keyboards and synth, and then when the song calls for it, percussion.

  • 1 drummer = awesome 2 drummers = even more awesome, simple mathmatics.

  • well the other guy has different kind of drums it gives it a more diverse sound

  • yeah if you notice a lot of 3's songs have a latin beat and they have latin instruments in the background. That's mainly what the second guys set consists of.

Also, you can do awesome stuff like cymbal combinations that they do in concerts. As a percussionist myself, I find it a great idea.

  • hunki really really really... did i just said it really loves this song... 5 more years and eppard will be where ...

  • I found out about 3 when the bands for Progressive Nation were first anounced.

I listened to them and thought they were really great.. very nice and tight.

and then when it came to seeing them live...

fuck. they are genius. I just get so many feelings when I see them. Ive seen them twice now and they leave me almost speachless. their stage pressence is not only amazing.. but joey is a brilliant song writer.

they are right up there with LedZeppelin and Opeth now on my favourite bands.

  • 3 is amazing.

I don't really know a person who doesn't like them..

It seems they can play with nearly any band and people will still love them

the string break at the end is amazing. First experienced that when Joey (only him) opened for porcupine tree. and it was epic.

  • Saw these guys in Chicago on the Progressive Nation tour a couple days ago....AWESOME. I picked up both CDs they had there and am hooked. Wish they had gotten to play more, could have done without Between the Buried and Me and let these guys play longer

  • I saw them in Cleveland on that tour a week ago, and that was pretty much the feeling there too. Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth said, "That band 3 was fuckin awesome!" :) Everyone there was just amazed by these guys.

  • Dude, i said the exact same thing, but on May 6 in Vancover!

  • 1.... 2.... 3 strings broken?

How did it not burst into flames?

  • That guitarist on the electric is a beast.

  • His brother is doing other projects. Joey has tried, but his brother just doesn't seem interested. He's really missing out on an awesome opportunity.

  • eppard is a god, he should do a side project with his brother now that hes out of coheed

  • he snaps the strings at the end of every show like the old violinists. I asked him about it and he said that's where he got the idea.

  • I've seen Tool...I've seen Roger Waters (bass player from Pink Floyd for you little kids who don't know) and a shit load of other shows...this was my favorite...I've seen them twice...they opened for Underoath and the headliner Coheed and Cambria...blew them both away

  • haha i was at one of their shows when they toured with underoath and coheed. I didnt know who they were but they completely blew me away. i distinctly remember their guitarist (not Joey, i apologize i dont know the other guitarist name) wearing a blaze orange hunting cap and pointing his guitar out towards the audience like he was shooting at them. absolutely amazing band.

  • what city?

  • I saw them in minneapolis when they came to the quest. maybe it was st. paul, im bad with locations of places lol

  • did he break a string at the end? that is AWESOME this video rocks i want to see them so badly in concert

  • He broke more than one haha. This song owns.

  • .....wow

This just made me want to see them around 5 times more than before.

  • its songs like this that make Joey Eppard a god, and 3 a killer band.

  • this is so fucking amazing!! everything about this video is brilliant! so so so much love for these boys!

  • hahaha!! omg matt recorded this!!

    lmao! he's my sisters boyfriend.

    luv ya matt!

  • How can u love your sisters boyfriend? :(:(

  • um wow i didn't mean it like that. what kind of fucking sister you think i am? i love him as family.

    wow your a homo.

  • um wow i didn't mean it like that. what kind of fucking sister you think i am? i love him as family.

    wow your a homo.

  • i love 3!! this song rocks

  • that is hilarious

  • Whoo!

Are you going to put the audio up on Paint By Number?

  • Yeah, eventually. I'm really busy with moving into college and all, so i havent had much time to do any of this. But soon.

  • Oh god, the "screams" around 4:30 was so awesome.

    With back-chopping action!!

  • hell ya they were.....This band is the fucking shit!!

wow i just have to say this when i looked at ur name i thought it said triangular dick i was like WTF!! lol but then i looked again and i was like oo ok lol
