  • You are really really talented and your cuts are seamless. I'm so thankful for Michelle Kwan. I hope someone moves me on the ice like she did for nearly a decade and a half. I really miss her art on the ice.

  • I have been a fan of Michelle Kwan's since the beginning. I know all of the programs that were used in this video and have watched them all many times on youtube. This montage is very well put together and the music is a perfect choice and is timed wonderfully. I really appreciate this. Much applause to you UndauntedCourage27. :)

  • That was beautiful! I LOVE how you edited her practicing her layback and then immediately cut to her performing it in competition. However, I do think you needed to show a clip of Sarah Hughes and then the medal stand...just to get the full picture of her career.

  • LOVE THIS SONG. And love Michelle. True legend.

  • Wow, that double axle at 1:57. Nice montage.

  • @Tenebarum oop. I meant at 1:23 or 1:24

  • Undauntedcourage. I don't understand why you are upset. Michelle Kwan would have been favored to win had she not withdrawn due to health issues. Look to Miki Ando to see what would happen to miki have she not withdrawn herself from competition due to injuries. She eventually paid the ultimate price the hard way. She could look up to Michelle Kwan as an inspiration, not as a detour. Is that right?

  • Thank you for posting this awesome tribute to the greatest figure skater of our generation!!! Even though I have Nagano and Salt Lake on tape I have never been able to watch them; its hurtful to watch her lose something that she wanted so badly.

  • How much do I LOVE and adore Michelle Kwan. How sad to see all the debate, when all there is to experience with this beautiful montage is the breathtaking performances that she blessed the whole world with over and over and over. Take a look at minute 3:57 as the whole audience including myself, rises as her hands come up. There are not enough words to describe what this young woman means to the skating world and to long time fans like myself! Thank you to the creator of this montage!

  • When and where is michelle skating at 3:47 to 3:59?

  • @sabrina2011888 Pretty sure that's her 2003 Worlds free skate

  • She is amazing!

  • Okay I have always liked Michelle but was team Tara during the 97-98 season. I did not like the way Michelle acted during the Nagano interview when she got the silver, but aside from that, she has always been one classy, talented, and awesome lady. She is in the top five of best figure skaters ever. She pretty much dominated Nationals and Worlds from the mid 90s on up.

She doesn't have to milk anything, her talent speaks or itself. Unlike overrated Sasha, Michelle is the truth. Deal with it.

  • Michelle Kwan will continue to stand and deliver while getrealandchoke continues to crawl and weep. Getrealandchoke should be quite embarrassed for proving herself to be the all unknowing fake of a 'critic' she ought to be. Why is getrealahdchoke making a living for herself by posting her usual nonsense and useless but entertaining drivel? Getrealandchoke. you have already reached toward the end of your own legacy of showing extreme incompetence. Its time for you to retire.

  • When I first commented on this I didn't even notice that UndauntedCourage27 was the uploader and I must say for this person to respond to me (however vehemently defending Kwan) it shows character and an open mind for him or her to respond at all and not simply block me. I admire that and this is the last comment I will make on any of his or her videos of Kwan:)-:) UndauntedCourage27 is a fitting name for such a person and that's a compliment!!!

  • wow this video was absolutely beautiful.. we shall never forget one of the greatest figure skaters to ever touch ice!

  • Thank you for this. I don't care what anybody says about her. She always brings me to tears. When I step on the ice and my music comes on, I try to channel even 1/10 of the heart and emotion she brought to every program. I haven't even gotten there yet. I'm just so glad I got to see her programs "live" without knowing how things would pan out, winning and losing with her. She will forever be my idol and my inspiration each and every time I skate.

  • Perfect Montage!!!!! Beautiful job!!!! No one could/can skate with such emotional vulnerability and passion as la Kwan!!!! She just FELT it, and you can't teach that. It was very obvious that her destiny was to be on that ice, which is why it was so glorious to watch her over the years.

  • Dear TaraL: Yes, we know you're bitter that your OGM led only to animosity w your publicist who called you too chicken for 98 worlds, w the USFSA who was only too gracious to give you an award, and w SOI which took care of you for years yet you only have bad words for them. But trolling as getrealandsee, allenglandlawns, etc. for years & attacking the revered Kwan hasn't helped you at all. Get off the computer & look for a job, so you can get out of being the CAREERLESS HAS-BEEN that you are.

  • I don't know why I am even responding to a blithering moron such as yourself, but you clearly can't stay away from Michelle's beautiful skating, and that's why you're here.

If you knew anything about the 2006 season (which you clearly don't), then you would know that the US Nationals competition in 2006 was a splatfest. . . .

  • @UndauntedCourage27 And Emily placed 3rd which gave her the right to a spot on the Olympic Team.

  • @getrealCRAZY You are a liar : "Even in their euphoria, celebrating a second daughter going to an Olympics, the Hughes family paused "We really feel bad for Michelle," John Hughes, Emily's father, said in a phone interview Sunday. "Michelle and Emily were at the same event three or four times, and every time, Michelle went out of her way to say hello, to welcome her, to be nice. Michelle deserved this chance. It's really unfortunate for her that it didn't work out." -Christine Brennan, USA Today

  • @UndauntedCourage27 Getrealandsee (AKA allenglandlawns, etc.) is indeed a blithering moron who, for years, has posted vicious and hateful things about Michelle on youtube and the internet. As the overwhelming majority of people respond negatively to his nasty rants, he has resorted to creating multiple usernames to make it appear as if his delusional opinions have suport. About a week ago he posted that Michelle performed sex acts to earn her last Olympic berth...he is disgusting in every way.

  • @UndauntedCourage27 beautiful tribute to Michelle. great job.

  • @UndauntedCourage27 good response to getrealandsee how come he/she is everywhere Michelle Kwan's videos are in,if she doesn't like it why bother watching it,gosh she always leaves nasty comments about Michelle,I know coz I get to watch videos of her posted on yt.to me Michelle Kwan is one of the greatest, awesome figure skaters past and present and i admire her grace and beauty although i only get to watch her in youtube

  • . . . .Sasha won with a flawed skate, and Kimmie Meissner and Emily Hughes did not skate well at all. Michelle asked for a bye, and she --not the USFSA! -- made the condition that she would only compete if she were in Olympic form, and she wanted to earn her bye by doing a test skate once her injury healed. During the test skate, Michelle skated so well that the USFSA officials thought that she had a real shot of winning the gold..

  • @UndauntedCourage27 I didn't know that. And just to all the haters. Michelle could have waited until the Short Program and tried to quickly heal an injury and hope that adrenaline would take care of the rest...which just about EVERY other skater would (and who could blame them?).

She didn't...She gave Emily Hughes enough time to get to Torino, adjust and compete. And THIS was the sister of the girl who took the gold medal 4 years earlier, which makes it all the more meaningful!

  • The reason why Michelle did not skate in 2006 and pulled out was because she reinjuired her groin on the first Olympic practice, not because she was purposely "milking" the injury. Many people wanted her to skate anyways (the fans, the IOC, Rosie O'Donnald lol, and the network producers who knew how popurlar she is), but Michelle decided to pull out early on so that Emily would have enough time to fly to Turino and compete, which she did. . .

  • @UndauntedCourage27 Are you on her PR team? This sounds like what they would spew forth...Kwan had no right to petition...read the rules...but then this is Kwan who isn't bound by the rules that other skaters are.

  • @getrealandsee According to Emily Hughes, Sarah Hughes and their entire family, Michelle deserved the opportunity. It just shows that people a fraction of your age are not only more intelligent, but also more mature and sophisticated. I've posted the article in which the Hughes family speaks highly of Michelle, with Sarah calling Michelle a LEGEND. You don't know more about skating or Michelle Kwan than Sarah does, dear. Take your meds and get therapy. You are a total embarrassment...

  • . . .Scott Hamilton even praised Michelle for making this decision so quickly.

As I said, NBC knew that many people were waiting to see Michelle; in one article, Michelle was compared a "lead actress dropping out before the season premier." NBC desperately wanted Michelle to be a commentator, banking on her popularity to pull in viewers, but Michelle not only declined their offer, but decided to fly back home immediately . . . . .

  • so that the spotlight would be on the new skaters. Unfortunately, the ratings for the 2006 games were very low, and this was partly attributed to Michelle's early departure.

I can't believe there are people like you who make crap up and then diss people on the alternate reality that you have created for yourself. "Get real" yourself . . . and stop watching my montage because you clearly can't get enough of Michelle's ethereal skating, bawahahahahaahahhahahahahahha!

  • @UndauntedCourage27 I couldn't say it better myself. Thank you.

  • oh this is a very nice montage!

  • This is beautiful!I was very lucky that I grew up watching her.

  • Comment removed

  • AAAAAH! I Miss her soooo muuuuuuuuch! She IS the Michael Jackson of figure skating! so much ridiculous passion! I Love her soo much. the ending made me cry and I did not expect to. Goodness gracious, I really miss her.

  • @Larouge07 Correction: she's the Muhammud Ali of figure skating. (Or, as she said she hoped to be, the Michael Jordan.)

  • To the person who created this montage, you are such a beautiful person to create such an amazing montage of this icon to the skating world. Thank you for this.

  • one one else compares

  • Michelle's dresses are nicer since 1996 when she transformed from a little girl to a woman!

  • Michelle runs on ice!

  • Imagine the most beautiful figure skater of all. Michelle imagined it. Michelle did it. Michelle

  • NO BODY , LIKE MICHELLE KWAN , SHE IS A TRUE LEGEND IN THE SPORT!!!

  • she is amzing. she is the only female skater I love the rest are brilliant, but she just has that somethin' that no other female skater is ever to show on the ice. That's just how I feel. :'(

  • I-MISS- HER- SOO-MUUUUUCH!!! *pouts* =\

  • what great memories - almost bought a tear to my eye. She is the most beautiful skater & I mean beautiful as in her beauty & what she did on the ice.

  • Thanks for creating such a marvelous video! Her expressions were perfectly captured! Perfect music to accompany the movements!!! Touching!

  • She was nice to watch until Sasha Cohen came along. Then Kwan began to get stale and wouldn't increase her level of difficulty to compete with Sasha.

  • @HowsaBowsaYowsa Where's Sasha now? And T[i]ara is a "MY sh*t don't smell because I hire someone else to do that for me!" princess twit. And -- umm -- where is she now?

  • @HowsaBowsaYowsa 1. How many times did Kwan beat Cohen?

    2. How many times did Cohen beat Kwan?

  • @HowsaBowsaYowsa Remind us: Where's Sasha now?

And how many times did Kwan beat Sasha during the period you claim Kwan didn't increase her level of difficulty in order to compete with Sasha?

Is that all it is for you: jumps? How about watching what Kwan did BETWEEN the jumps. NO ONE can touch her in that regard; and that was more than sufficient to make up for any lack of your notion of "difficult".

What Kwan has that 99.99 others don't: an extraordinary grace, lyricism, beauty.

  • @JNagarya Allow me to answer that inane question. Kwan was held up/propped up/gifted by the judges to assure that she 'beat' Sasha. So, the answer to that is that Kwan didn't beat Sasha at all and as far as artistry: Sasha has so much more artistry in her programs right along with technical difficulty it's Sasha all the way. It is Sasha who has the extraordinary grace, lyricism and beauty her moves between jumps are sheer beauty. Sarah, Tara, and Yuna have it too. They just had to EARN marks.

  • Comment removed

  • @kwansansog Yuna's artistry is pretentious. Michelle's was much better. Michelle was never propped up. She EARNED all of her medals.

  • @kwansansog I don't think so. Michelle had much better artistry. Michelle was MUCH more versatile (Sasha had a beautiful style but it was very repetitious). Lol, Sasha had more technical difficulty? When did Sasha ever do a 7 triple performance at a major? Sasha was just more flexible. Michelle had better edging and jumps. Sarah and Tara can't hold a candle to Michelle's artistry. I also hated their cheated jumps (Sarah had poor posture as well).

  • @kwansansog So tell us, hateful know-it-all: how much was each individual in the numerous audiences that consistently gave Kwan standing ovations -- including at practice sessions -- paid to do that "propping up"?

I think it's time everyone who is fed up with your ugliness reported you and your multiple accounts to the powers that be so you can be banned from spamming Kwan threads with your jealous malice.

  • @kwansansog A Eleven articles praise Kwan; one article is negative about her; and you rely on the one negative. That is both biased and intellectually dishonest. And your bias an intellectual dishonesty is further underscored by the fact that you fail to mention let alone account for the eleven positive articles.

We can't hear you. You are drowned out by the countless spontaneous standing ovations given Kwan, even for her practice sessions.

  • I miss her!

  • Amazing amazing amazing. I couldn't stop crying half way through it. Thanks so much for sharing this.

  • hey - what is that for a wonderfull music?

  • Life is all about keep moving and going no matter what -- that's what I have learned from Michelle Kwan.

  • Comment removed

  • What else can I say but...She's simply the best. Period!!!

  • I'm sorry but Michelle Kwan is the best skater of this century. I think by not winning Olympic gold it allowed Kwan to continue to thrive in the amateur skating world! Thank you for showing us what a remarkable skater she is!

  • Thank you. A beautiful montage for the best skater in my lifetime.

  • LOVED the cut from the practice of the layback spin to her doing it in competition at the 2002 Olympics. However, I think you should have shown her on the podium at those Olympics.

  • The BEST there ever was or will be! Should have had Olympic gold deserved it more than ANYONE. God bless her she makes me WEEP and THAT is what skating SHOULD be about! Always and FOREVER her fan

  • There will never be another american female skater llike Michelle Kwan- she has done more to inspire young women to become skaters than anyone else in the history of the sport. She has endured and has become the most decorated and most memorable woman skater this country has ever produced.... how we miss your elegance and grace, Michelle.

You truly made the sport of women's skating the most beautiful thing on ice. God speed to you always......

  • Michelle Kwan is God's gift to Figure Skating. I have one word to describe Michelle. Marvelous!

  • @SuperGanda4ever WRONG, WRONG, and WRONG. michelle kwan is not God's gift to Figure Skating because her skating is not the best ever in the history of figure skating. She has NO OGM. She fail to medal under the new system. Queen Yuna Kim is God's gift to Figure Skating.

  • @ynkisno1 what a joke troll. tara and sarah won the gold and no one outside of figure skating even remembers them anymore. sad ahahaha

  • @ynkisno1 ur an idiot! lolol, I guess Tara and Sarah were gifts too...

Remember, without Kwan, Kim, Sarah and Tara would be half the skater they are/were

  • @ynkisno1 Personally, Michelle Kwan has influence skaters like Yu Na Kim to become a trend setter and to make a contribution to the sports. Every girl needs a heroine.

  • @waddleduckie1 WRONG. Queen Yu-na is the OLYMPIC CHAMPION. She need NO heroine. Yu-na is HEROINE. Maybe michelle kwan needs a Queen Yuna Kim heroine.

  • Um, if you were actually a fan of Yu-na, then you would know that Yuna has idolized Michelle's skating ever since she was little -- Yuna has spoken admirably about Michelle in NUMEROUS interviews. Skaters are often inspired by the skaters before them. In your mind, this somehow makes Yuna less of a skater?

  • @UndauntedCourage27 I think ynkisno really needs to get the concept. She is so naturally defensive of Yu Na Kim, but at the same time, she doesn't seem to get the concept that Michelle Kwan was champ even before Yu Na Kim became the champ herself. Plus ynkisno gets so jumpy and at the chance, she blurts out before putting on her thinking cap. She needs to calm herself down. AND to be flexible.

  • @ynkisno1 Well, if you want to say so, but Michalle naturally was there even before Yu Na Kim existed (she was born way before Yu Na Kim and Mao Asada) . So naturally, Undaunted Courage is right. Lets say if Yu Na Kim existed before Michelle Kwan did... then it would work the other way. Do you get the concept or not?

  • @ynkisno1 I still think you don't get the concept. . Michelle Kwan was there before Yu Na Kim became the new heroine. And you must understand that Michelle Kwan and Yu Na Kim are good friends.

  • @ynkisno1 Oh, you are just a crying little idiot. Oh I like to read your little smug sarcasm upon Michelle Kwan without you even knowing that Michelle Kwan was champion as much as Yu Na Kim has been in her own right? Only a tyke like you needs to know something about Yu Na Kim already having a heroine like Michelle Kwan alongside her. You need to have your own little snotty heroine, do you?

  • that was spellbinding. i can't stop crying now. I've followed michelle kwan ever since she beat Nicole Bobek at the US nationals 95. My heart went crashing when she didn't complete that triple lutz at the Salt Lake Olympics. I have so much respect for her as an artist, with elegance, beauty and so fluidity on ice like no other. She is definitely a legend, a star and it break my heart and so many others for her not to have the Olympic Gold Medal. Good Job

  • @badtznikmaru Nicole Bobek won the US Nationals in 95 not Michelle. Michelle was 2nd.

  • @dsfddsgh And both Bobek and Kwan went to Worlds in 1995. But Kwan was the only one of the top four to skate clean programs. In fact, if she'd only skated one clean program, she would have skated more clean than the other three. If one is old enough to compete in an event, one should be eligible to medal; instead, Kwan was artifically underscored into fourth because "immature," even though her skills and skates were superior to the other three's.

  • Michelle didn't need the gold...she's the most beautiful skater ever! Thanks for the video...

  • You did an amazing job on this video. The music is awesome and deserving of being in the time capsule with the living legend, Michelle Kwan, my forever favorite figure skater. Thanks so much for the work you did.

  • Thank you for this time capsule of Michelle.

  • Loved the montage...thanks for posting! Michelle FOREVER!

  • I love the part at 3:55 where it looks like she's commanding the audience to rise =)

  • what i truley admire about michelle is that growing up, her family had no money. it was only obvious that she couldnt go anywhere with the sport like she wanted. but her dad was so dedicated that he worked up to 6 jobs to pay for it. she was truley the luckiest girl alive, and talented too :)

  • Thank you for posting this montage. Since figure skating has been all but totally eliminated from broadcast television, I am now seeing things from Michelle in your montage that I had not seen before.

As others have already posted, this is truly a wonderful tribute to a skater who ranks right up there with Fleming, Hammel, and Boitano--all legends. The music and clips actually made my eyes a bit misty. Great job and Thank you!!!

  • That was just....there are no words to describe it. Beautiful,Terrific,Elegant,Graceful.....they are all understatements! Magnanimous...maybe? well, it's out there whatever it is but the video did her justice.

  • Elegant and lovely! This montage is amazing. Great job by undaunted courage...Great lady in Michelle Kwan! No one compares!

  • this is really lovely !

  • this montage is my favorite i love the music and how the clips blend so well together

  • God, 03-04 was the absolute best season for Michelle.

  • Well done Montage!

It brought tears to my eyes. I wish more skaters would skate like Michelle.

  • That was beautiful!! I got such chills watching this!!

  • That was really wonderful! I love how well-timed the music is! That's what makes a great montage, in my opinion. She could have been skating to this music during her 2004 LP, the timing was THAT good during her footwork! All the highlights matched it exactly!

And it's always splendid to look back on the career of any skater. I'm not an MK fan girl either, but no one can help but respect her for all she did for the sport. Best wishes to her in everything she attempts; I hope she succeeds.

  • I'm not MK's biggest fan, nor she is my favorite skater; however, that doesnt mean i dont like her

truth is that she was/is one of the greatest of all times, and improved the sport in a wonderful way she gave emotion to it, and i love her for that

I personally love her 2003 LP (nationals and worlds) it was on of the most beautiful and moving things i've had the pleasure to watch

I wish her the best in everything she tries and thank you UndauntedCourage27, it was wonderful to remember all this

  • What is this song? I love it. I always have. Thanks for doing this -- I hope she's coming back!

  • I think it's called Dragon. Elvis Stojko skated to this music.

  • Wow. This was awesome. It nearly drove me to tears. :)

    Long Live the Kween ^^

  • THE GREATEST SKATER OF ALL TIMES!!

  • Incredible... thank you so much!!!!!!

  • i must say once again how much i love this!!

  • It doesn't matter which medals she has won or "lost." Michelle has touched so many lives, especially mine. Michelle IS figure skating. Michelle is the Gold medallist forever in my heart.

  • Love it.

  • thank you, thank you, thank you

  • This is the best montage ever. This just leaves a tear in your eye every time.

  • wow...this is one of my favorites...please savefile this or send it to me!

  • this is really stunning. gorgeous music and a gorgeous skater. thank you so much

  • beautiful video, good jo, well done

  • Great timing with the music.

  • This was amazing! Truly and awesome montage. And perfect music choice =)
