  • The world must have been so much different back when everything was black and white.

  • Dick Weber = LEGEND!

  • The ball is, indeed, a Dick Weber "5-Star".

He authorized a soft rubber ball, call the Dick Weber Powerball, with the same logo, in the later 70's. I owned one. Hit like a truck back then.

  • Is it just me, or is watching these two men, hit the pocket with those beautiful straight lines, just as exciting as watching a hook ball? Such an art form these two have, especially dick weber in my opinion.

  • @ilovesteelydan lol i was just thinking that when i saw your comment. it is an era of bowling that i will never experience unfortunately

  • Looks like Dick Weber is using the "Dick Weber All Pro" ball. I had one of those when they came out at about the time this was shot.

  • weber and don johnson threw spinners.

  • I started Bowling in 1997 on wood lanes, so I never Bowled on conditions like that. I always think the balls won't carry when they hit the pocket oO

  • Dick Ritger " I'm trying to release the ball on the first ,second or third board." Hell that looked more like the 10th board or more inside than that he was playing. He was no where near the channel.

  • The graphics on the screen are great!!! :-D

By the way two great bowlers plyed in the Madison Square Garden.

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • is weber using the legacy urethane

  • Urethane didn't come out until about 1980/81. Probably rubber OR plastic ball, hard to tell in black n white.

  • @chipmonk51264 It is a Dick Weber All Pro that had a cluster of 5 stars as a logo.

"Hi, My name's Dick Weber. Not only can I whoop your scrub ass in a bowling match, but I could probably steal your girlfriend from you afterward. Nice to meet you!"

  • Well they said he's one of the best "swingers" of all time. Lol that's horrible on my part.

  • Actually, the guttershot started in the 60's -and not a point like this, but straight down one or two, then the ball snapped very hard on the back end....that is if you had the guts to play it. Nobody was better at it than Bo Burton and Bob Kwolek!

  • Doesn't Mike Scroggins, though I realize balls are more reactive now, play a shot similar to that?

  • Walter Ray has a similar shot I think. He usually fires it up the first arrow at the very least. PA's ball also gets very close to the gutter.

  • Don't forget Jim St.John. He was the first to use the gutter shot to win a national tournament.

  • lol 2 dicks going head on

  • Please go drink bleach.

  • They were playing pretty close to the gutter for back in those days.

  • @Riob420 I was taught to follow through toward your target, but Dick Weber's arm always went to the his right.

  • holy shoot! THANKS!

  • Dick Weber is a GOD!

  • I concur!!!

  • cool
