Everyone i've talked to that has either owned an evo or still owns one, HATES them for lack in quality for parts... they have leak issues, intercooler piping keeps coming off, oil pressure issues.. trans issues (clutches) electrical problems etc etc... You dont get those problems with subyz

STi in European version have 280hp but in Japan and USA Subaru have more power. Only european version is weakest than Japan and USA version. So this SUbaru on this vid. is 100% stock.
what the fuck you on about, the usa gets the gay 2.5 version not the original 2 litre with the tein scroll turbo. because the usa has such strict emissions regulations subaru had to make a 2.5 motor for them which sucks compared to the o.g 2litre

Sti definitely have better engine sound and power than EVO...but that was just a bit better...doesnt mean it won everything...Evo still the winner overall...
I'm agreeing with NOPN...both cars are AWESOME...plus these videos are DRAG. Both cars where made for CORNERING, ie: RALLYING. Mainly it's driver skill that decides the race when both cars are comparable.
Both are great cars but what i seem to notice is that the impreza fans seem to keep saying that the evo is a rubbish car nd shiz but like evo lovers (like myself) will admit that both are great cars. i would'nt complain if i owned an STI nor if i owned an Evo but in the end, the evo is most likely to out perform the impreza from stock and like most videos show, the evo usually wins yet this is a video were the impreza wins =]
I find its usually the other way round, most EVO owners will rule that all EVO's are better than all impreza's. But it depends what counrty your in , what models you have ect. Standard STI against standard EVO year 05 in the US for exmple like this vid its not surprising the STI wins in a streight line. And in vids from japan the domestic STI often beats the domestic EVO round a track. In britain most models of EVO have the edge.

I thought imprezas are cheaper, maybe not in US then. and why wouldn't the impreza win in a streight line? it has more power and torque than a standard evo in the US. Granted the EVO will go round a track faster

Both awesome cars for the money. And so much more performance to offer in handling,breaking, and AWD advantages. Some of the best all around performance cars for the average bloke.

Yeah I did the same race stock vs stock, the sti pulls slightly after 3rd gear. Fun times
