  • Since the discussion below, Youtube added a control, the one with the arrow heads next to 360/480/720p button, that changes presentation size.

  • Yeh. I'm so ignorant :) I didn't notice the 'HD' button until today ...

No idea how to force that screen-size. It's probably not-doable...

Because it's still not even close to HD!

But thanks for the info ~ you know your stuff! (I'm just learning ...)

  • No problem. Youtube HD is pretty new and we're all learning. Streaming video on the internet won't be video camera-like high-def quality for sometime, but Youtube's new HD is much improved. This was my first Youtube HD video. I will be tweaking settings in the future and will post them with the video.

  • This not HD!

  • Canon HV30 HDV camera, edited in Final Cut Express, 1080i Apple Intermediate Codec. Output 1920 x 1080 AIC, converted to1280 x 720 H264 w/ Quicktime Pro to reduce file size. Clicking "HD" button displays a larger size with good quality, but smaller than 720 pixels vertically, like all other Youtube HD videos. Clicking full screen, the display will look blocky if your monitor is larger than 720 pixels.

So is it HD? Beats me. Do you know how to force a 720p size window?
