lol the Indians weren't grinding grain... they were grinding acorns from all the black Oak trees in the area! been there many times in the past... have you found the Blackstar silver mine(s)?
Those holes in the rock are just awesome. You can almost picture native villagers preparing their meals as they grind their grain. Its wild to think that when that happened, there was a thriving community of people who lived, hunted, gathered, raised families, told stories, etc. etc. for generations - where now there is quiet. When they lived in that place, the Grizzly roamed the wild. Incredible! Thanks for sharing that gem of a video!!!!
Yeah well ... there wasn't anything in the shot to suggest how big the animal is ... anything to compare it to. So now, since you said that he was about a foot long, then maybe it is a garter snake.
Judging from appearance only, I had guessed he was about 3 or 4 feet long. If that were the case, it would be more likely to be a kingsnake or bullsnake. Interesting footage anyway. You should have made a whole video of the snake. He was makng some interesting motions with his head.
Dude: If I was filming that snake, I would have filmed as much of him as I could; at least until he scuted away in the grass and I couldn't see him anymore. Encounters with animals are always rare for me. I try to take advantage of them while they last.
We found the Blue light mines in Silverado, where are these???

Hi David. You sure that was a garter snake? Maybe it was a bullsnake? Or a kingsnake? Looked kind of big for a garter snake.

"He was makng some interesting motions with his head."
The snake reminded me of a stick bug when he was doing that.
