  • This reeks with the 80's, and that's awesome.

  • ET is the one and only movie I cry @ the end.

  • WOW! That's a young but always gay, Jack Williams!

  • How old is Jack Williams, I remember him doing the news when I was a little kid, and hes still doing it now, I think hes gut the best news caster voice and could have gone national instead of just local.

  • Mr. Monologue himself !! Johnny Carson

  • 09/30/82

"Cheers" premired that night as well

  • I seen this on the news today.

  • I saw that they are taking another look at one of the suspects.

  • I was just starting Kindergarten at the Grew School in Hyde Park in late September of 1982. I remember poisoned tylenol being in the news quite a bit as a kid for some reason, around the same time razor blades in hot dogs and nails in Halloween candy were in the news.

  • Bob Lobel just got canned in a round of CBS layoffs. Proof that CBS is nuts.

  • This was from September 30, 1982

  • hey cool

Macaulay Culkins brother Kieran was born on 9/30/82

  • Man oh man, growing up outside of Boston, this brings back memories. I recently visited back home and to my surprise Jack Williams STILL ON THE AIR! I was like holy s*it Jack Williams!! My wife, who's from the south, of course was like who? lol. Keep rocking Jack!!!!

  • I wasn't sure what E.T. they're talking about. Is the movie E.T.? or Entertainment Tonight?

  • That would be the MOVIE E.T., not to be confused with Entertainement Tonight in which the show was into it's 2nd year on the air at the time.

  • Jack Williams is Ron Burgundy

  • Just goes to show you how popular "E.T." was. This was October (Tylenol scare, last game at Fenway) E.T. came out in March. I've never heard of a movie staying up for 7 months

  • E.T. came out on June 11, 1982; that would make it 4 months.

  • You're right; my mistake. Didn't know why I thought it was March.

  • 11 years later, 'Jurassic Park' came out on that same day. Another Spielburg classic.

  • And 11 years after that, "Napoleon Dynamite" came out.

Just throwing something our here... no link to anything!

  • I remember learning about this back in the day but didn't know what in the world happened at that point in time.

  • LOVE IT

    WBZ back in the day!!
