@corvette4554 the Plug is the forma or the original product you wish to take a moulding of. also known as a buck. in this case the dark grey, primed timber part at the bigining of the video. Hope this helps.
It's a shame that every instructional video has to have some awful music track, instead of someone explaining the process. My mute button is getting worn out, :) Would be a great video otherwise, Cheers.
@bwayne641 Thanks for the feed back we have a more experienced User of video soft ware working for us now so our newest videos will have more narration rather than music.
Hi, Polyester resins would melt Polystyrene, they are different ways and methods to manufacture moulds without going to the expense of a manufactured wood pattern.
It really depends on what you are doing you are best to call us for a chat or send a detailed email on exactly what you are trying to achive, Tip: Household emulsion paint over polyestyrene forms an effective barrier if applied properly, this would let you take a 'rough' skin off a polystyrene plug.
Hi Josh, This is possible as long as the metal is smoothed down and the metal is waxed with a mould release wax, you can also sponge on a few coats of PVA release agent to ensure an easy release. please visit our website address shown at the end of this video please feel free to call out tech guys on the number shown at the bottom of the web page for more info.
PVA Glue is different form PVA Release Agent and i would advise never to try PVA Glue as a substitute. PVA Release Agents are a liquid solution of polyvinyl alcohol resin in a mixture of water. when dry this forms a thin skin which acts as a barrier to prevent the resin from bonding to the mould surface.
PVA glue contains polyvinyl acetate emulsion and will create a bond between the mould and moulding.
Liquid wax is very expensive, around £60 a litre i think, mirror-glaze is much cheaper but harder work. Depends on what you want to use and what your using it for?
can someone please tell me what is plug??

Is that normal PVA as in the glue? I have heard it being used as a releasing agent.
