Hi I am planning to replace my 323ci bank 2 sensor 1 and the question i have is if the sensor is any different than bank 1 sensor 1 which i replaced few weeks ago.
I used this - Bosch 13477 for bank 1 sensor 1 and i am told i use Bosch Part No. 15109 for bank 2 sensor 1 which has a longer wire to it.
@vijaych1209 Bosch part No. 15109 is for a Post-Cat Oxygen Sensor (Bank 1 or 2 Sensor 2) and reason why the wire is longer because the wire goes from the bottom of the car to the top of the engine by the fuel rail...
And most of all its the wrong sensor for this job...
And the sensor for Bank 1 sensor 1 is identical and the same to Bank 2 sensor 1 (No. 19477)
Sorry for jumping around, hope i answered everything and cleared out any confusion
My car had recently been experiencing some difficulty when accelerating from a complete stop. This morning I turn my car on i get a check engine light and I was getting quite a bit of vibration in the cab. So I drove to school and my car seemed to be running about half of its usual power. Well after I went to class etc.. I drove my car home and it seemed fine but the check engine light was still on. Do you have any guess to what the problem could be I have a 99 323i and obviously its anE46.Help
@cthulhuXD try cleaning your MAF and use seafoam in your gas tank to clean your injectors... check for cracks and leaks in your intake system...see if that works... if it still shows up replace the O2 and if it still does... do a test swap or replace your MAF
Hi there, I got p1071 and 74 what are these? I get confused with all these bank 1 sensor 2, bank 2 sensor 1......... so how does this work? how can i distinguished what is what? thanks reply to oscarv6010@hotmaildotcom
Thanks Rob, I needed some instructions installing my O2 Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1 for my BMW..Your made it very easy for me and it was very helpful..Thanks my Man:):)
@alexlex85 Lambda aka O2 sensors for the 323i or Ci are the same since we have the same engine and this is the same Bosch Oxygen Sensor #13477.
BUT... Thats at autozone; i'm not sure if thats the same part number as other places. So depending on where you shop just make sure if its upstream (Pre-cat) or downstream (post-cat). Hope that answers everything
Thanks for taking the time to make this video! I'll be changing mine this weekend, so it was good to watch this as a visual demonstration of what to do.
Ok, so I'll check for cracks first before replacing sensors. I'm assuming bank 2 and bank 1 are both pre-cat? Aren't there 4 O2 sensors? Where are the other 2?
@IDoNotReply the remainder O2 sensors; which are post-cats, are located near the down pipe curve on the bottom of your car. But both of them are kind of difficult to get since its small place and their connectors are located where your fuel rails are located (under the plastic engine cover held by 2 10mm bolts) I was eventually going to do a video on post cat sensors but kind of short on money.
Bank 2 sensor 1 is the o2 sensor closes to the fire wall and bank 1 sensor 1 is the one next to it.

Remove the engine cover and it is way easier to get to the back sensor.
