  • What's the difference between personification and pathetic fallacy?

  • @BajaGenial Personification is when an inanimate object is given a human like quality. E.g. the tsunami ran across the town. Pathetic fallacy is when the weather describes the mood.

  • @BajaGenial personification is when you represent an inanimate object with human traits, like erm a savage cage, or lively plane or something like that. Pathetic Fallacy is basically when the weather gives us an indication of the mood of the writer or the atmosphere of the poem or story. So say its a sad story, the atmosphere would generally be grey, raining and if its dramatic there might be thunder involved too.
