  • dude you sound mad depressed

  • i think somebody with a dodge ram cummins left at the end of the video :-)

    Nice homestead

  • nice

  • This is what I want when I'm older. I'm 16 now, and I'm sick of the rat race already. I just need to find someone that wants this way of life, too, to spend the rest of my life with. :] Oh, and decide on a career that is stable enough to provide for me in rural areas. Once I get that figured out, I'm gone. :D Chickens, Goats, Horses, Cows, and sustainability, here I come!

  • @empouse

Get a good job, save ALL your money and do it.

  • @empouse Nursing is a good rural occupation, well paid and usually in demand anywhere despite the economy being good or bad. I work in a Nursing home as a Registered Practical Nurse, make aprox 25/hr plus in lieu (of benefits) pay, we can live on part time hours so far. Hope you find your partner too:)

  • @ooonurse33 I was actually thinking of Ultrasound Sonography! I'm thinking that'd be pretty stable of a career, too, and less impacted than nursing is right now. I know sooo many people who are trying to get into a nursing program and are stuck on a wait list. Proof that it's a good career, though! :]

  • What do you do with a mule?

  • this is how livestock should be raised, not imprisoned in filthy confinement the way large producers do....God bless

  • I dream of farm life, you're video has helped me get my "fix"

it seems like homestead ownership is so far away and hard to achieve.

  • What a wonderful lifestyle! You guys are so fortunate. I found it inspiring since I'm living the city behind myself in a few months. Peace & Love :)

  • Glad your enjoying yourselves. Alfalfa doesn't really make em fat. It's just that horses, mules, etc. don't need that good of quality of hay. Prairie hay works out best.

  • This is what we hope to do very soon. Full-time RVing is fun, but I'd love to homestead instead! :D How'd you decide on where to live?

  • Your a lucky man. I would trade you my house any day for what you have!

  • Thank you for your kind comment

  • Be carefull with giving him alfalfa cubes dry. It'll give him choke and could kill him. If you put 4-5 big handfulls in a bucket and put about a half a gallon of water moreif it'll hold it, , it'll soak it all up and feed it to him then. It's like catnip for them. lol nice place

  • Thanks for the info. We no longer have Bo but this is good to know if we get a donkey or horse in the future.

  • Great homestead......the chickens are noisy lol

  • Your living the dream...May You & your family have wonderful lives ahead! I hope I can live like this someday

  • Thank you fro your kind comment. Just 6 years ago we were living in a 2 bedroom cockroach infested apartment. It did not take too much for us to make the adjustment to cottage farming.

  • How much did all that land cost?

  • i am also homesteading...ive got chickens, quail, rabbits, milk cows, horses, ducks, turkey, sheep, and beef cattle

  • I love the video! I own my home but it's only on .20 acre. I'm doing my best to use the space in as "homesteady" a fashion as possible beginning this year. Getting my first chickens next month! I'm really excited. I bought canning supplies so I can can my apples and garden veggies.

I've learned so much from youtubers like you. Thanks!

  • Thank you for your kind comment. Good luck with your chickens. we hatched our first chicks last month and hope to put up video soon.

  • you're living my dream. Hopefully I will have my own homestead within the next few years. I graduate from college this semester and my wife and I both want to be self sustainable.

  • Thank you for your comment. It is a great thing that you are starting so young. You won't get used to unnatural ways of living and you will have plenty of energy for the endless projects a homestead calls for. We wish you all the best with living your dream.

  • Do you chickens naturaly come back to the coop at night? or do you have to teach them? Cause i want to let my chickens out but i dont no if they will come back

  • Chickens naturally go home at night. As long as they see the coop as 'home' they will always come back.

  • All your videos are great and will bennifit alot of others out there wishing or starting a homestead for thier own.

Also what a great way to share information on the how to do aspect of homesteading.

    I have learned allot already.

By the way , where are you located I can not find it in the videos???

Good job, lovely animals and children!!!

You and your wife should be so very proud already with the this change of life.!!!

Thanks for sharing so much beauty with all of us.

  • Thank you for your reply pockets. Happy homesteading brother!!!!!

  • How many hours a week do you work to keep things running? Do you still have to work outside of your homestead? It looks like heaven to me. I cant wait to start my own.

  • Thank you for all of your comments. Right now we get about 25% of our food from the homestead and do not make any income off of it. The work varies and we share chores. When we are not doing any projects its a couple of hours of work a day. We have only been doing this for a couple of years but it has greatly benefited our family. I hope you are able to start yours soon.

  • You even sound a bit tired that morning! I don't know if I could wake up quite that early! Thank you for the videos. Must be wonderful to have a morning like that everyday.

  • I was up earlier then usual and had more energy then a normal morning so after seeing the moon I thought it would be a good day for the video. We often don't milk the cows to 730 or even 8.

  • where is your homestead located, I live in upstate ny.
