Indeed, the lyrical brilliance is what Cohen is well known for. If you aren't familiar with his music, have a listen to "Take This Waltz". It's one of the most beautiful romantic songs ever - with achingly beautiful lyrics (though those lyrics aren't by Cohen, but rather Cohen's translation of a Spanish poem by Federico García Lorca.) If you're interested you'll find it on the top of my favorites. :)
