ps3 slim is cheaper to make than the current models, first they use instead of 65nm chips the new 45nm chips which are producing less heat and are cheaper in producing cause they are smaler, so if its produces less heat they did not use expansive cooling efforts, they could stick everything in a smaller case, a smaller case is not so expansive as the bigger cases.

Did you ever put your hand over the main part of the PS2 slim? Not the disc tray by the way. Mine was always pretty hot but kept going for hours. I'm just hoping that the PS3 slim won't be like that. It could reduce the time it can stay on. For example the current PS3's can stay on for up to a week. Then they start getting hot.

One has to wonder why the person who made that video didnt show the system more in-depth, and show it running a game.

No doubt in my mind Sony is working on a slim but I still doubt THAT is what it looks like. Probably a prototype model that someone found in the trash and shipped to the Phillipines to make some quick cash.
