Katy has an absolutely beautiful voice, it's just original. I prefer it by a long shot to most of the cookie cutter "sounds pretty but nothing real to it" voices out there.

Although I agree that she has had iffy performances, I personally think that's to be expected when someone is actually SINGING live, especially if there is a lot of movement and performance going on. Be realistic, you're going to sound better if you don't move an inch than if you're dancing.

Especially performers like Robert Plant, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Vedder, etc.... phenomenal live performances, amazing sound, constant movement, and they've never had "iffy" performances. Eddie Vedder even used to jump around stage, swinging and breaking things, jumping from scaffolding into audiences. Not while singing though, lol
