  • I actually remember one time, Mr. Spim's Cartoon Theatre showed some of those DePatie-Freleng Dr. Seuss specials of the 1970s (like "The Lorax" and "Dr. Seuss on the Loose") all edited into one 90-minute or 2-hour compilation.

  • People, every time I even *think* of or recall that I used to watch Mr. Spim's Cartoon Theater when I was just a little kid makes me feel privileged to have grown up in such a beautiful and wonderful era ... the 90s.

This show, out of nowhere, reminds me of the Real Adventures of Johnny Quest.

  • i was hunting for this. its been so long

  • And just for those who don't actually know, Mr. Spim is that head who appears at the end of this bumper.

  • Odd I remember some of the bumpers and things on the old cartoon network but I do not remember this.

  • ca-reeeepy!

i remember this opening it used to scare mu ass out

  • Voltaire animated this. That's cool.

  • Wow.... this is so weird and kooky and yet so awesome at the same time!!! I love this opening!!!

  • Now THAT is art. What happened, Cartoon Network?

  • Whats hte one where the girl is tlaking about hte cartoon library?

  • Ah, memories. I saw that movies every sundays at 14:00.

Spim is the "worm-moustache head" at the end. xD

  • I also wonder who's head that was on top of the screening room.

*I know I don't want to look at the ending though*

  • omg the memories i rember wacthing mr. spims cartoon theater and sitting wiht older bro on the couch on a staurday afternoon at my grandmas house waiting to see what movie cn would show

  • That opening debuted with Mr. Spim on February 26, 1995.

  • Honestly this intro always scared the crap out of me when I was 5 or 6,apparently still does.Creepy stuff.

  • God now this is a classic! Of all the movies that came on this, twice upon a time would have to be my alltime favorite.

  • what is this video about or my him

  • Nostalgia bomb just blew my mind.

  • LOL I remember this! Awesome! ...though, watching this it reminds me of some old guy dressed up like a mad professor talking to a camera. Though, that might have been another old CN show.

  • Urrghh, I'm glad I found this. But I still need a list of all the movies they played on this block. I miss some of them so much...

  • What the....?

  • Mister Spim is a great Guy I used to visit his Theatre almost every sunday night

  • Boy do I miss this!!!! T_T I wish they bring back how it use to be, back in the

    90's!!!!

  • this opening always scared me as a kid lol

  • Me too.

  • When was this on TV?

  • Around 1994 as far as I can remember.

  • Wow i remember this, i use to love this opening when i was like three or four. Something i always wanted to know was... who was Mr. Spim??

  • I don't think we ever found out.....perhaps it was just the name given to the block. I suspect that "Mr.Spim" is that weird head at the end of the video.

  • @SuperAdventures Well whether that's Mr. Spim or not I just think that overall as kids we never got to see ' Who was Mr. Spim?'.

  • Mr Spims Cartoon Theatre (GUY LAUGHING)

  • Cartoon Network IS horrible and vapid now. I miss it. It's heyday was when I was little, I'm 19 now. I've been looking all over for this movie that aired on Cartoon Network's Cartoon Theatre....Something about A Doomsday Machine, and this kid who had to stop time and save the world or something, something about a watch? I remember the animation was really dark, like it had all been drawn with charcoal or something, if anyone remembers a bit about what I'm talking about, please message me!

  • I don't know the name of that film but it sounds interesting.

  • I don't know if this is it,because it kind of sounds like the movie you're talking about, but it was called "Twice Upon a Time" and it was from 1983.I remember it airing on Cartoon Network's Cartoon Theater because I recorded some of it.

  • I knew I would find proof of this. THANK YOU!!!!! I wasn't dreaming this after all.

  • this kinda reminds me more of a nickelodeon style thing than a CN

  • it reminds me of vault disney intro....

  • Wow! How did you get this?

  • I remember this,I used to love the movies they showed.

Anyway thanks for the upload, certainly an awesome trip down memory lane ^ ^

  • I loved the screaming octopus.

  • Too bad Cartoon Network sucks now. <:(

  • You got that right. CN is nothing but anime and other crap. I miss the old cartoon network.

  • Hey, there's NOTHING wrong with anime!

  • YES!!! I remember this joint too well!

  • Sorta reminds me of the short odd clips in CHOWDER. Always wanted to see the opening to this.

  • good old days man, im from mexico, but i remember we still had mr spim cartoon theatre, or el teatro caricatun del señor spim, good times man

  • Wasn't there an opening of the Cartoon Network theaters/theatres with the fake Paramounts Mountain, MGM Lion, and the girl who hold up the torch while holding books in her other arm? I really enjoyed the part where the girl's dress was blown by the wind.

  • Yes, but that was a later incarnation of Cartoon Network's weekend animated film franchise, known as simply "Cartoon Theatre". It aired during the late '90's-early '00's. "Mr. Spim" lasted up until around 1997-ish.

  • Is there a video?

  • I think that guy who appears at the end is Mr. Spim.

  • claroo que lo recuerdo!!! gold times

  • Awesome. i also remember this very well. Thank you for bringing back memories from back when cartoon network was the best channel on cable tv.

  • I remember that bumper! Thanx dude!

  • man i miss when cartoons were this cool.

  • The howling dog at the beginning reminds me of the "Mysterious Theater" opening on "Sesame Street." I remember seeing this at the beginning of "Bon Voyage Charlie Brown"

  • I haven't seen this in so long, thanks for uploading! I always thought Mr. Spim's opening was cool as hell... Cartoon Network had so much orginality back then.

  • I remember this, thanks for uploading ^ ^
