yeah same with me and bamboo leaves should not turn. a friend said make your strokes stubborn to turning. when you paint bamboo leaves.

however its good for your first time. alot better then me i can say lol

and, thick black leaves first to draw, then light ink... never reverse in the basic level.

hi, I think your composition is good !

and you did good gradation on leaves.

You might good leave shape, if your elbow keeps the same height during the brush strokes. please don't snap your hand-ankle(? correct english?) to try get the tail end of leaves.
