I totally understand the need/want to breastfeed (and all the best to those who do!), but I really have no desire to should I have children of my own one day. Kids who are bottle fed can turn out just as well as breastfed babies.

Yes, they largely survive, thrive and grow fine on formula, except they are at much higher risk for disease.

I've done my homework on the subject for sure. I was bottle fed (I completely refused to breastfeed no matter what Mom did) and I was completely healthy growing up. One may have a higher risk for disease, but I doubt the risk is all that high to begin with in happy, healthy, clean homes.

Yes, it's a matter of risks, but why put a baby at risk by choice just for your convenience? I am not judging you, my baby was also supplemented with formula from the start, but if I knew then what I do now, I would not have done it. Formula is just well-marketed but it is not an adequate substitute and should only be used as a last resort.

I agree. Also, if people could just read the ingredients in formula, it's pretty scary stuff. Breastmilk is by FAR better than formula, no formula and beat up Breastmilk is a fact. It has so many ingredients that no one have been able to replicate. Breastmilk is PURE GOLD! Good Job Mama! My 3 kids have been breastfeed and it feels part of the mothering experience... To all the moms who are watching this:I didn't know this at the time, but popping off the breast and fussing like this is one of the signals babies give when they need to go to the bathroom, especially poop, and especially when they are 4 months or less. If your baby does this, you can try taking him off the breast and removing his diaper, covering his bum with just a loose cloth diaper. There is a good chance he will poop and feel much better and be willing to nurse after that.

This carrier was hard on my neck/shoulders. The Ergo carrier is awesome and I breastfeed in it all the time and it has a flap that can put up for privacy. It's great for nursing while walking aroun in public. No-one notices a thing!
