  • I have the exact same problem, but my TV is a different brand. Would anyone mind telling me a bit more about these "inverter boards" and "capacitors?"

Are they expensive and/or difficult to fix?

Sorry, I don't know much about TV hardware, but I'd rather fix my TV myself than buy a new one.

  • Screen stay on no picture

  • fuck this tv!!!!! im having an issue, just started yesterday, tv turns on, all is ok 3-5 seconds later, tv makes a buzz sound, video keeps playing of whatever is playing remote control becomes inop, cant turn off or anything with remote or tv buttons. then tv turns off by itself. tv then turns back on, and repeat. bought it feb 2009

  • thats truu dear, i had faced the same problem just after the 2nd day of purchased . It was a brand new tv model no. N81 (Malaysian Made) Unfortunatly it was the baggaged item and not covered with warranty ,i sold it out but i lost 75% of my money. since then i did't buy any of the samsung product and advice all of those on face book.

  • How much did this repair run you? My tv all of a sudden over the weekend decided it wanted to do have the same symptoms as this one!

  • I didnt have bad capacitors - that was a hint in the right direction to the inverter. I did replace them anyways to fend off any future failures. So no - I dont think that it was a capacitor failure causing the inverter board failure.

I did turn the backlight up to max and turn off the energy savings from med to off which makes the screen much brighter only a few weeks prior to the failure - maybe overloaded the inverter.

  • This problem isnt the capacitor problem discussed in other samsung fixes. I had the same problem. The fix is that you have to take the back off the tv and determine which of the 4 backlight inverter boards is "buzzing" - for me it was the upper right.

Part number is INV52b24a (RU) - Right Upper. There are also RL (right lower), LL (lower left) and LU (Left Upper).

I found one on ebay for $20.99 + shipping

  • @rmclane1000

did you ever have the bad capacitor problem? because in my case when I posted this video I definitely had the capacitor problem; caps were oozing brown crud. When I replaced them, the problem was fixed. But about six months later the problem came back with exactly the same symptoms, and could not be fixed with a new power supply board. Then I figured out, like you, that one of my inverter boards was bad. But I wonder if the bad caps caused the inverter board failure???

  • @rmclane1000 Hey rmcclane. I'm having the same issue as you've discussed I have one inverter board (LU) that looks like it has some small discoloring on the board, but the buzzing seems to be emanating from the light itself and not actually from any particular board. Any ideas?

  • did you ever fix the problem?

  • @adamadkins1

yes, original problem was solved by replacing power supply capacitors.

but six months later I had same symptoms again and a new power supply board did not fix it. I tracked down problem to a bad inverter board, like "rmclane1000". What I don't know is whether the two problems are related to each other, i.e. if the capacitor failure cause some kind of voltage spikes that damaged the inverter, or if the inverter was failing independently of the capacitor problem.

  • Bad capacitor (s)

  • Ive just had the same trouble...mine will be on then screen goes balck...sound continues...the only way to get pic back again is to turn off tv and then switch back on. The pic will stay for aagin for various times then goes off again. It happened to me 5 times last night and mines not even 2 years old. Im so fucked off i paid £580 for this a year and half ago! Fuck Shamsung...im buying Sony from now on!

  • Same thing has happened to my Samsung 46 Inch not even 2 years old, im chasing the store wehere i bought it and if i dont get it fixed i might try changing the capacitors myself as you can see in another youtube video.

  • Welecome to the SHAMED by SHAMSUNG club.

Samsung tvs go bad just after your warranty expires.
