  • It's remarkable how almost everybody here loves the 1994 album. I totally agree. It sounds raw and heavy. Tommy Lee's best drum parts are on this album. To me, Vince Neil was always the reason not to listen to the Crue. (after hearing a few live recordings) When Corabi joined the band they sounded solid. They were solid as band. Tommy and Vince can't get along. Corabi fits the band perfectly, but obviously Motley had a different opinion on that. Everybody falls for a large crowd. Understandable.

  • Long Live John Corabi!

  • 1994 album stood its time. to me it's 2nd fav album from them behind shout at the devil. everybody in the band but their energy in perfect condition as the band. too bad it wasn't received good by the audience but success it's like a lottery... i listen to this album to this day. there are lots of very very good moments on it professionally and musically. i more glad that everyone in the band was satisfied with the album than record sales. as a fan of course... damn i was 10 at that time! :D

  • Sounds so Bitchin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • by far the best album they ever did and ever will, the whole album is so great, sends chills down my spine when i listen to it, don't get why it didn't do better than what they did previous to it, i love misunderstood, smoke the sky, till death do us part, hooligans holiday, dropping like flies, all killer, and corabi is a heavier singer than vince, more my style,

  • Best Crue music ever full stop!!! Met John a couple of time and he's a killer guy, Really approchable the music with Vince is OK but this album shows them all in a different light musically, great work of Music!!

  • The best Crue record ever!

  • I always liked this album...I think Johnn gave the band a shot in the arm that they needed because motley crue had gone from a badass band to a suck machine with vince. Too Fast and Shout are their only good albums with him-everything after that with vince is just sell out SHIT geared for tweenage girls I wish John never left! They were actually a good band again! Now rotten ass vince is back and its back to lame nasally girl screams that crap out half way thru an octive. GET REAL CRUE! HIRE JC

  • 94 Crue is the best of them all ! The problem is that there was no money it w/o Vince. No MSG, DFW or LA Forum. Their manegement team did no like it. F the Crue and they would have done Crunge in.

  • 94 Crue is the best of them all !

    CRABBY RULES!!!

  • Its a catch 22 ..I like both Vince and John. Pitty that he did not stick around for another album or two. The only thing that annoys me is when ppl say this is not Motley Crue because it is just as much Motley crue as this is Youtube!! Its just the dark side of the crue

  • Big Corabi fan here...loved the '94 album and everything, but if you watch the few clips that exist from his 1 tour with Motley, he STRUGGLED to sing the tunes live. Not just the old Crue tunes, but his own as well.

  • Anyone know if there is any concert on DVD from when Corabi was with them? I love this album!

  • motley crue 94' album rocked nut we knew they would'nt last if corabi was still with them both singers are great but the oringinal fans loved vince voice more because there used to it corabi sucked to most of the fans but i like heavy metal and hard rock so i like both vocies plus they wouldn't make it to there third/or second record if corabi was still there i just saying that for the fans of motley crue but im glad corabi was on 2 albumsone not credited, one great hits, and one EP THATS AWESOME

  • So fucking awesome

  • Tommy Lee said in some interview "I never wanted that Corabi leave the band... those years were the best for the inspiration of the crue's compositions". And I'm completely agree. The Motley Crue Album was the best of 90's and today I still enjoy. We just must hear the music and the great Corabi's voice.

  • The Corabi Crue album is my favorite. "People" hated this album when it came out...but I also remember them hating Vince's album, too...and he had Steve Stevens playing with him-who f'n rocks! Today though, its THIS album that can people start looking at with a fresh set of eyes and say, "GODDAMN THAT'S SOME KILLER MUSIC!" The difference is simple: Vince is a PERFORMER, while Corabi is a MUSICIAN. Same could be said about Van Halen: Hagar & Cherone are to Corabi as Roth is to Vince.

  • @CecilDigital I agree!! yes i was the same as everybody else when i heard it and didn't like it at first, but after a couple times playin it straight through it rocks ass!! altho i did think they shoulda renamed the band for this album, called it something else cause the music its self doesn't sound like the classic albums at all, but its definitely different and very heavy awesome album, one of my FAVS!

  • @CecilDigital u also gotta know how to be a performer man...and make good fun shows

    people like that

  • they were motley crue...

    But that wasn´t motley crue

  • @TheWizzKidz .............I AGREE, MOTLEY CRUE IS'NT MOTLEY CRUE WITHOUT VINCE !!

  • The drumming on this album is just heavier than a ton of bricks! I love Crue more than anything and i completely love the 94 album just like i do every other one they put out b4 or after.

  • I love Motley Crue but this is my favorite album of theirs. It is way different for them no doubt about that. To me this album doesn't really compare to the others in style and yes, they seem like a different band. I love the band they are here though; just in a different way than I love Motley with Vince.

  • one of there best , but its not vince and motley would never of made it in sells without him . but corabi was awsome in concert. they were great

  • John is a good fucking singer and so is vince but vince did better songs with motley crue but john is kinda better

  • it ain't motley without vince

  • Come on, only girls like Motley with Vince and his soft rock songs. John Corabi gave them a Metal Edge they NEVER had.

  • i totally agree with you man! cheers from italy!

  • That has to be the stupidest fucking statement I've ever heard in my life. I'm serious. I like the Corabi era, but wow. "Soft rock"? Were you high when you wrote that?

  • apart from that john is an excellent player ... but he has the loser tattooed all over him ... he has spent the best part of his life in underground or cover bands when he could have issued more serious albums just like the first union album ... the guy deserves better but ... life sucks 4 him all the way from the start

  • we have to realise that what went wrong was not the album but definetely the name ... they could not issue another album as motley crue ... would have been better if they changed their name i mean a fan that comes to hear crue thinks of vince onstage and not john ... or as well stated by micky dee from motorheah 'i want to see motley crue sound like motley crue AND NOT LIKE NIRVANA'

  • this song fucking suck,

    vince owns this dude.

  • A great and powerful song. I like Vince Neil better, but this song is a very deep and personal song of John Corabi's.

  • today ive been thinking that will be nice if on the next cd they get him back as a second guitarist and keep vince on vocal

after all he the only one esle who play with motley crue and i like this fucking albulm

  • yeah that would rock... but Crue is a 4-piece. But Nikki, Tommy, Mick and somehow even Vince all like John. They now are big enough and have enough money to add a fifth member and not lose any money at all. even if it means they get 20% each not 25%, it won't matter cos the album would make more money as it would appeal to Crue fans.

  • sounds like dog shit

  • yeah shit it is, sales were the lowest ever for the crue back then. wierd ? not really, vince is the voice for motley. as you can tell now. cruefest baby..

  • no these weren't lowest sales. This album actually somehow went Gold... but compared to the 5 times platinum they had with DR. Feelgood it was embarrassing. Gold for many rock and metal bands is a great achievement.

Then in 1997 with Vince back, they went Gold again but had more sales. while '94 sold around 510,000 copies, '97 sold around 700,000 copies but still not enuff for platinum. Then New Tattoo sold less than 250,000 so didn't even make silver! Red White n' Crue however, sold platinum!

  • Dog shit? Not the shit of some other animal, but dog shit, huh?

  • It was a Great Album, but Bob Rock wrecked it trying to Match the Feelgood Sound in a Grunge Era. The Demos Sound better!!

  • this song rocks, listen to it while your driving around town !!!!

  • it a pretty good cd but motley was so huge an albulm before .. so

  • it became a branding problem i think..its a great fuckin heavy sounding heavy hearted record, but like sixx says now, it shouldnt have used the motley brand. then, as someone has said..i think it wudda been a hit..judged by its own merits

  • so true, this album still rocks today.... would be cool to hear a remastered version of this....

  • best crue album without a daubt

  • I agree i only really like the Motley Crue with Crab on vocals any way Vince is okay but Motley with Vince is too corny.

  • i listen o motley crue with vince but i like corabi a lot better. i like the corabi album better then all of vinces albums put togther.

  • well then, why the sales of the self titled album dropped ever since Crab joined the Crue and it should've been a huge follow-up of Dr. Feelgood? In fact, Doug Thaler said Crab wasn't a star and the Crue has to have Vince back or they're fucked.

  • I love motley with john its just so raw and heavy. John is a much better singer than vince but john could not have done the stuff motley did in the 80s.

  • @motley666cobain

I wouldn't say better. Vince has the perfect voice for that type of music. Corabi is great at what he does, but he's not a star. He's one of the boys. Vince is a rock star.

  • @motley666cobain Possibly could have done it better :)

  • @motley666cobain yea i agree

  • Music was waaay too angry on the 90's.. Even Motley..

And now that I think about it this album sounds kinda grungy,

the gengre that stabbed GLAM on the gut..

  • gotta say...this for me was the best crue album.....fxckn heavy and raw...smoke the sky, power to the music, a work of art and i am glad the crue broke up temporarily so this gem was released with john, one of my top 10 albums-MC-1994 ROCK IT OUT.

  • i wish they released it under a diff band.

    it would have pillaged ass

  • This album is great but its not crue. Would be so great if it was another band. t would have been a hit album if it was released under a different name

  • I've never heard the album, but I was always a Crue fan but lost touch for a time after Dr. Feelgood and then came back around during the Maximum Rock tour and New Tattoo. Vince never did shit as a songwriter and his performances are so half-assed.......singing every other word in the songs. But he has the signature "crue" voice so.........

  • and that is why this album failed and so did John's stay in the band. I became a Crue fan the spring of 83. Seen the US Fest, etc, tours to follow. But once they started sounding like a band that just put crap out. It wasn't so interesting anymore. Like we went from Metal, to rock, to pop, to blues, to cheesy, to some more rock. The Shout tour is still my fav in both sound and appearance. We were all sold on them being metal at that point in time. Only to be screwed with the gey look in Theatre

  • the album Motley Crue didnt get as much credit as it deserved i thought it was a pretty sick album corabi worked with nikki on the lyrics and music where vince barley does shit motley crue fucking rocks weather it be with vince or corabi

    great video too

  • AC/DC didn't change its name, because Bon died..Black Sabbath was always the property of Iommi and his employees...I personally wouldn't change the name of my band because someone leaves... screw the guy that leaves!!, you continue with your own band!!!

  • Plus the comparisons killed them. Fans didnt buy into John as the singer of Motley Crue... Even tho to me it's one of the best albums they did as musicians..

  • what a GREAT album this was!!

  • yea. i liked it alot. totaly different from their other stuff but still awesome.

  • Does anyone know the setlist for these shows? I'd like to know

  • I bought a CD but I think the list is out of order of how they played....same stuff they play these days - livewire, feelgood, SATD, Looks that kill, etc. and about 5 from this CD. Crab is cool, but he wusses on the Neil high parts. He adds his own type of melody in some, which is cool. Kick ass stuff.

  • Plus the fact that Vince never brought any ideas to the table - he never wrote a note,& all the old lyrics were written by Nikki (Nikki wrote the whole S.O.L.A. album with the Sixx AM guys!) Corabi not only contibuted music & lyrics, but added something extra with the 2nd guitar. The point is Vince is an entertainer,a true showman (like DLR) whereas John is a musician...But I can understand if close-minded people can only handle 1 definitive line-up of their favourite bands ;)

  • Thanks couldnt of said it better myself

  • I agree. This album kicked ass! I have always been a crue fan and was not in favor a a different sing but John did a great job. I would have liked to have seen another album with him too. And a DVD with him doing the old stuff. It was a lot harder. When Vince came back I was dissapointed with his singing. The SOLA album has has reaffirmed the old Vince but man John was good too.

  • Right on! The Crab has got a totally original style of delivery - plus that brother's got soul! It's a shame they ignore it nowadays - but Vince couldn't sing it anyway! I know this will piss a lot of Crue freaks off but I think Vince's voice is the weakest point of S.O.L.A. - Don't get me wrong,I've listened to them since '85 (S.A.T.D. is their most classic album!)& he's the original & no one can take that away from him-but after The Crab,Vince just doesn't cut it for me anymore.Sorry folks!

  • Motley Crue 1994 S/T album was their best. that album was dark and heavy. Tommy drumming on it is fucking killer. Corabi is a good singer too bad Crue didn't do another album w/ crabby.

  • I saw them (June 11, El Paso TX). They were great!

  • That Era was very dark and creptic for them..but their musicianship really Kicked Ass that year..and so on...

  • Awesome song! and man Corabi's hair is Sick in these performances I don't know if I have ever seen someone with that much hair.

  • Corabi is a great singer i can give him that. But the voice of mötley crüe is Vince Neil.

Now and forever....MÖTLEY CRUE ROCKS !!!

  • no.. he's not... new vr?

  • Corabi is a decent singer. I'll give him that much. But he is not Motley Crue. I supported Vince during this time. I bought his albums and went to see his shows. I never did and never would have supported this fake Crue.

  • Rock meets Grunge, the only Album that ever did.Long Live the 94 Crue.

  • this is true rock and roll, this is the best motley cd ever...

  • I Like both Neil And Corabi

  • Fuck all the dumb Motley sheep that didn't buy the '94 album just because that girl Vince wasn't in the band. This record f'n kills all the other MC albums - amazing songs, sick ass production, and Corabi singing like a man possessed. I'm glad to got to see'em on this tour.

  • this guy was talented and a good singer! it's a shame the album didn't take off. I think fans were just so used to seeing vince that they didn't give him a chance. Kinda like Gary Cherone singing for Van Halen. Just couldn't see a different singer. I heard he left to join Ratt. But I don't think that went well either. He should have just created his own band.

  • he did,..check out union.

  • I think John was great with Motley Crue but the reason it didnt sell was because with out Vince it wasnt realy Motley Crue, thats how people saw it, but now the album is selling fine nikki has said, it was just to far ahead of the times for them to apprecaite it

  • I prefered them with corabi, too-they were better, plus they had a message

  • sooooooo true..

  • Corabi has been the best vocalist of Motley Crüe. He is very talented and has a great rock and roll voice.

  • I love this album too. Thick 'n' heavy. I just read "Heroin Diaries" and according to Nikki the album flopped. The country was balls deep into grunge back then. That may have had something to do with it. That and I guess the Crue without Vince isn't the same even though the vocals were great with Corabi.

  • I personnaly feel that that '94 self-titled album is Motley at their finest.Corabi totally slays, the album is gut-wrenchingly heavy, and the songwriting, musicianship and production were top-notch! Ah well, shit happens...

  • I agree with you. That album was really the best. But is not the original glam cheese music of the real Motley Crue. So, not to many people were exited about this awesome album. What a shame!

  • Crue's album w/Corabi is my favourite, and also I consider this cd as one the best cds of the 90's.I don't understand why it didn't worked out with Corabi, because he is a god singer compared with Neil.

  • Because it was heavier than the normal Glam Rock Motley Crue. And more people liked the "girls girls girls" thing than this real good music. A shame right? anyway...

  • i really dig this record. i'm 28 now and play in several bands and i LEARNED a lot from this record. mostly how a killer drum sounds;-)

i still listen to it every once in a while. more often than nevermind, btw...

  • Man, you ain't kiddin'!

    Tommy's slamming and Bob Rock's thunderous production - that's a fearsome combination!

  • i think that crue was a teenage outfit with vince i mean the album thay made with john was one of the best albums of the 90 shame it did not work out with john he was a hell of a singer

  • What really sucks is listening to Vince whine his way through songs that John wrote. Every time I hear "Let Us Prey" I want to cry because it written for Corabi's vocal range/ style you can totally hear him singing it. If only someone had the original tracks of Personality 9/ Generation Swine with Corabi's vocals on them.

  • I own a VHS copy of a show in Chicago. Not good quality, but okay. Being a loyal Motley Crue fan, I didn't take sides when the spilt with Vince happened. John Corabi in Motley was great- musically. I still crank out the album til this day and one of my favorites. Too bad the fans didn't accept it. It really was a great album. It would be nice to see this version perform a show or two now, but lets face it- it won't happen. John did what he could, but Vince can always carry the crowd.

  • John kicked some ass!

  • I saw this concert in '94 and it was really, really good. Made my skin crawl in the best-est of ways!!! It is a crying, shaming sin that John wasn't kept with this band...they were a perfect match. This guy should have gone farther than Vince Neil...and I'm a long-time Motley Crue Fan...the world wasn't ready to give up Vince yet...wonder if they are now...wonder if Nikki would consider? Would John Consider? Sorry for the fuck ups we make in our youth, huh?

  • Comment removed

  • JOHN WAS GOOD!

  • I know its blasphemous to say.. but this Crue beats anything original Crue did after Shout at the Devil

  • This is one of my all time fav. Motley Crue songs. I fuckin' dig it.

  • this was an amazing album, what a fucking voice, pissed off i never seen them with John, but i have seen them with Vince, and what a showman he is

  • ya but that is all he is nothing more than a showoff john was a real singer

  • you guys are fucking awesome. i thought i was the only person that loved this album. ididnt give a shit if vince was singing or not, john's voice was the shit and so were the songs. glad to see people dug it cause i thought it was amazing. and alot of people turned their back on this record. shame

  • I love John`s voice!!! This band should have changed their name to something new at the time cuz it ain`t Crue, but what a fucking great album they did. Killer line-up!!!

  • from album motley crue/great album.best song is 'till death do us part'(first name of album)of 1994.mick was with hate because stolen your guitar.

  • great stuff, John corabi did make a differnce, the music is awseome

  • This album Fuckin Rocks ! ! I wish the sound was better, and I wish I was more into this material when it came out, I would've gone to see them. Great drum tone on the album, Tommy on DW and in my opinion Mick Mars' best work along with the first record and Shout. Another non original line up that kicks ass is Skid Row Thickskin, listen to this cd and that one back to back.

  • yeah? thickskin rocked? I hope you're not talking about the one with the punk rock blink 182 like version of I remember you.. RIGHT?

  • Yeah this shit rocked they should have used a different band name tho. WAY TOO much hype to live up

  • Are you ready for suicide, let me put a razor on your throat..... I like the way they sing about this matter. For me it is better than a scary movie.

  • i really liked that MOTLEY CRUE CD,the whole concert kicked ASS!!!

  • i can't honestly say that i liked motley crue much when corabi was doing the vocals...his voice doesn't fit with their music...i mean sure, he and Crue did some good songs together, but it was vince's vocals mixed with tommy's hard hitting, mick's fuckin killer guitar, and nikkis killer bass playing that made them Motley Crue...

  • HAHA I fucking love you John Corabi! Man I would have so liked to see another album with that guy upfront for the Crue. God bless him. He brought the real Hard shit into the Crue, though I like John and Vince equally.

  • yes, Corabi kicks Vince Neil's Ass. The MOTLEY CRUE album is really good. To bad it didn't sell well. The music with Corabi was better as well as the lyrics.

Thanks for the video post !.

  • "Motley Crue" was the best album ever released by thus band. This record was well ahead of its time, and I hik if you were to release it today it would do phenominal. I think Corabi is a waaaaaaayyyy better singer than Vince ever was or will be, however, it ain't the crue without Vince, or Tommy....

  • so glad i am not the only one who loves that crue album, CORBI is a better singer but vince really is the crue sound it was a rebirth if the rest of the crue let it stay with Corbi god only knows what they would be like now. LOVED THAT ALBUM

  • 94 crue and 95 skid row, height of their careers with the best albums of the 90s. they are right there with all the highly coveted "grunge" albums w/o selling out.

  • Jesus John is good. I would pay any amount of money too see him back with the crue. It was without a doubt one of the best albums of the 90's. period.

  • Corabi is the shit!!!!!

  • wecome to the numb is the best song on this album.

  • just bought this album and i love it. Especislly uncle Jack and power to the music

  • I agree, they should change the name, but I prefer the corabi time, this was true street rock and roll.

  • This album was awesome, Poison Apples, Hooligan's Holiday, Hammered etc are all killer tracks, however i do believe Crue should have changed thier name for this album. Not that it was shit, but it aint the sleazy crue we all love. Motley is Nikki Tommy Mick and Vince. end.

  • yeah that album was great,, but the reason it wasnt succesful was cuz the fired vince( or he quit,, whatever) they hired another guy and the kept the name,, so the fans were really pissed off... But i could bet your ass , if the would had changed the name of the band,, and realede this albumm it would had been more succeful.. Does anybody agree with me???

  • That's exactly right!!! Early in their careers they used to say if someone left it wouldn't be Motley. They should have changed their name for sure. All's well that ends well.

  • fucking awesome.

  • Yeah man, i agree that this is one of the most underrated albums of the ninties! This album kicks some serious shit! I have played it for some friends i know and they were blown away! When i told them who it was they couldn't believe it.. I love the crue, however this was a great change of pace for the band..crue fan forever!!!

  • One of Motley`s best albums:) this is the Shit:) fantastic album

  • I've been listening to this record for 12 years now. I will never get sick of it.

  • Hey loosersweet this is one of the most underrated album ever. And Corabi is the best Crue singer, although he did for only one year I think.

  • one of the most underrated albums, john corabi and the crue were haevy as hell on this album. pick it up if you don't have it.keeper!

  • Uno de los mejores discos de la historia de la musica...algun dia al igual que el Pet Sounds de los Beach Boys, sera reconocido y admirado

  • one of the most underrated album of the 90's.

  • the album is really brilliant, it really kicks. as good as the others before. period. the ones who disagree just never listened to it.

  • thank you i agree this album is amazing and i am a huge fan ever since, i really wasnt into the girls girls girls or homo sweet home stuff but tis album and Generation Swine made me a crue lover now i love all there albums.

  • John is an amazing songwriter.not to mention an amazing musician:)

  • The story behind this song is so fucking insane! Ok, so basically this dude is a fucktard that like to mess with little kids. Probably when they are asleep and shit. Wake up and he's all over them. That shit is NOT cool by ANY means! I just wish more kids had the balls not only to resist, but to do like Crue and all did back in the MTV heyday: Punk that shit in a Batman tv show/3 Stooges kitschy way!

  • Corabi es the SHIT !!! Awesome albun
