  • THIS is so well done.

There is another one 'Hitler goes to Sturgis'. Pretty dam funny.

I purchased FCS-7 last fall, and just now loaded it. So this is day 1.

From all the great reviews here so far, sure glad I didn't fall for X.

Looking a bit challenging for an older 50 something punk self taught style.

PodCasts are mostly for the new X version.

If any of you have suggested links to start in with, and applying effects, I'd love it.

As you can see, I've been poking around with iMovie.

    Cheers

  • Genius! I am with you! so funny too....fantastic

  • This started off funny but then it became depressing because it's SO TRUE

  • Adobe could also take a leaf out of this book. Adding more bells & whistles, but not paying attention to core problems, whilst trying to appeal to the masses and ignoring the pros.

  • Freakin' brilliant. Nice job. Most people posting reviews about FCP X are so poorly produced you wonder how they can be in the video business. Like this video states, FCP is geared to the new lowest-common denominator of video "producers". Most FCP users I know don’t even know what a codec is. Our facility was a victim of Discreet killing edit" At that time we chose Avid over FCP. Luckily we bet on the right horse. A competitor of ours has 17 FCP suites. Ouch, they must be feeling crunchy.

  • Wow, I actually agree with Hitler! :))

  • Oh wow! I needed that: A cleansing 4:00 belly-laugh. Thanks for that!

  • I asked for a refund and Apple gave it to me. I then went and bought the adobe premier suite which is half price at the moment. no regrets. Shame on you apple.

  • R.I.P Final Cut Pro X

  • yeaaahhhh go to avid.....

  • Why don't Apple teams call it iMovie Pro instead of Final Cut Pro X? And Apple should make an update Final Cut Pro 8 with the same Final Cut Pro interfaces so that many Final Cut Pro editors don' t have to spend time, money, and efforts to learn the new software (Final Cut Pro X) which they don't like. This "Final Cut Pro X" causes so many confusions to many Final Cut Pro editors.

  • Fantastic! This is a beautiful piece of video editing unto itself, and speaks the absolute truth. As a professional video editor, and a video instructor at a major art school, I've been crying and muttering obscenities ever since I first learned about FCP X - so I really needed a good laugh. You gave voice to all my old frustrations about FCP and expressed my new, seething anger at Apple.

Thank you so much for speaking the truth in such a detailed, righteous and entertaining way.

  • Time to break out the old Steenbeck :D

  • Superb!

Well apparently many think Apple are winding up all Pro applications anyway now.

Pro tools is going the same way.

  • i love you forever for making this

  • in german he says difrent things

  • This is the coolest dang video I've seen in a while. Great dialogue choices! You are the bomb! If you are ever in Nashville and want to co-produce something, It'd be a privilege to work with you. I feel like every word you said could have come from my mouth. BRAVO!!!

On another note, they'll have to kill me before I'd go back to Avid! Adobe....here I come!

  • Changed over from the linear editing world and trained on Avid in 1998....looks like this might be the death rattle for fcp. Will never go to Premiere....more jobs with Avid will be coming back, just watch. In the meantime, I won't be upgrading or (downgrading my fcp suite...it'll stay nicely at 7.00

    wow just wow.

  • Hilarious! But Avid... Really? I use it because I have to, but it's terrible. I still consider Adobe Premiere a great contender. Same workflow as FCP, ultra-compatible with all other Adobe-software and extremely easy to use. Just a little unstable. (But not worse than the Avid I use)

  • or you can get with linux instead of consumer generic stuff, download cinelerra, and get to work with features that WORK.

  • Doesn't he mean switch BACK to Avid? I must be old, I remember when it was the only option.

  • Wedding videographers should also be included in the list of "professionals".

  • brilliant!!!

  • Good thing I have always keep my AVID Skills sharp - I DID learn FCP and Have used it .

  • 7 people are Hitler fanboys.

  • So true...

  • Apple wake up to yourself!

  • This is the best Hitler FCPX video. There is at least one other, not as good.

  • I haven't seen a better critique of Apple in all the years I've been a fan. Even the best companies need a kick in the pants every once in a while. It's smart, sharp, thoughtful and fair. Simply brilliant.

  • I wonder if this is hard to enjoy if you actually understand German...

  • I sincerely hope that somebody in Cupertino is taking all this on board.

I also suspect that at Avid HQ there's a lot of sniggering going on right now..

Fantastic piece of work, thank you - you've made a grizzled old editor laugh more than he has in ages.. :-)

  • Hilarious but also sadly very accurate!

  • kind of an expensive rant.

  • I love you!!! If you're a girl I'll buy a plane ticket from Portugal just to kiss you! You're just spot on! You got the wannabe 5D photorecorders in the same bucket, and you got my vote!

  • I presume you didnt make this on FCP X

  • @mcpodgemeister Thats, right not made with FCP X, or as I like to call it "Movie Hero". It was done entirely in Motion.

  • @AndiePandaVideo Probably the best part of the whole deal was a standalone Motion 5 for 50 bucks... FCPX is still quite bad

  • That was great. So funny and I swear I have thought the same thing about several of apples pro products (Shake too) Sadly, its true. Maybe someone can send it to Jobs & get a honest response from him. Signed....A Prosumer idiot.

  • Contrary to the description, 5D fanboys like myself prefer Premiere. Or at least I do.

    Otherwise, very well done.

  • Wow...that was hilarious! I'm going to reserve judgement though until I've actually used FCP X myself. I was never a fan of iMovie, but I'm going to give it a shot, especially since I probably don't have a choice since my college is probably going to upgrade to FCP X before I get back in the Fall. Tutorial library, here I come...

  • WOW. That rant was perfect.

  • Should be "switch BACK to AVID".

  • Final Cut Pro X - "Video editing for people who don't own a keyboard"

  • Dude you just made a dark week in my world over this a scream...priceless

  • major props for well timed subtitles making sense withing the scene. Very funny, skillful - and creative!

  • It's not based on iMovie.

  • Thank you thank you thank you. Very funny and gratifying, like Bill Hicks.

  • More like time to go BACK to AVID.

  • ADOBE PREMIERE CS 5.5!

  • Funny, but also at the same time, a tad touching, because of how sadly true it is.

  • It's never time to switch to avid!

  • I've been using FCP since v 1.0 and have always really been comfortable with it... The old VW axiom is "if it works, don't fix it!".

I'm not generally a fan of Hitler, but I feel exactly like he does now...

  • THAT IS TOO GOOD !!! I hate FCX so much !! what a pice of crap program !! Apple has insulted all the good editors out there. Time to switch to AVID

  • Genius.. Pure Genius.. And so true.. Mr. Jobs.. Watch this carefully... It's more true than false.

  • Check out the Facebook group about FCP X: "Final Cut Pro X = iMovie Pro ?"

  • @wvr1981 Link?

  • And today, we realize how right Hitler was...

  • It's already been sent to every editor I know! Damn, still laughing tho...

  • Haven't laughed so hard without mood-altering substances for a long, long time. Abso-fucking-lutely brilliant. And true, so very, sadly true.

  • @BeenSavage Thanks.

Be sure to share with your friends, and post in some forums where it will give the Apple geeks a meltdown.

I'm fed up with these slobbering Mac fan-boi's that have been clogging up the forums with all this talk about how great FCP X is going to be, and none of them have ever used it! And same for all those who keep posting the supermeet video. Total Apple geek fan-boi porn.

  • Wow..Perfect prorody made for follow-up commentary addressing another new film editing software product. Minus the slurs, priceless!!!

This scene, of course, is spoken out of translation from original feature film.

  • Ha ha, "Stop crying.. He might have a point."

  • Ha ha from one dying platform to another. CS 5.5 rocks

  • My "I'm with Hitler" shirt is no longer ironic.

  • er nice idea. Where on earth did you get that idea from?

  • @slackalicefilms A friend emailed me one of these he saw posted on an editing forum, that was lame. The titles didn't match very well, and the writing was weak. Hitler caves in and goes with FPC X at the end, which I didn't get at all. Pretty half-ass all around. I thought I'd take a couple of minutes and crank out one with a little more substance, and edge.

    Andie

  • @AndiePandaVideo I agree. This one is much funnier and more accurate than the other Final Cut Pro Hitler video, I have seen both. It reads like typical apple fan-boy BS. All about not wanting to relearn fcp, blah blah blah. so PC. This one is biting, and hilarious.
