To get rid of confusion, this song is heavily influenced off of a band from the early 90's named My Bloody Valentine. Many people get this band confused with the more recent band Bullet For My Valentine. They are not the same.

My Bloody Valentine had a specific sound that has a very dream-like quality, and many bands have been influenced by their signature sound since their last album, Loveless, came out in '91. Do check it out. It's a dream!

I'm a musician myself and I must say Coldplay has learnt the skill of duality in music, many of the new songs have this "feature", this song is loud but tranquil at the same time, it makes people want to jump and the same time to close their eyes and "rest". Only talented people are able to do stuff like that, I'm proud of these guys.

there is a point where it goes from slight copy to blatant rip. Granted the effects are slightly different but still. You see, there is an obvious difference between bands like Chapterhouse, Lush, MBV, Ride, etc. You can tell the influence they have on each other or visa versa and the uniting sound of the genre. But when it almost sounds like a cover band its hard to hear it and not think, "Wow these guys really want to sound like MBV." Why listen to this when MBV's stuff is 10X better?
