  • Lick of the day brought me here

  • totally glad i found this cat, imma have to dig deeper, i heard this song on XM last night comin from work, and i was like WHATADSk fja;lskjf0p59ujtoyp jie!?!?!?! hahahahaha

  • @jrockin2001 I first heard this on XM as well.

That shit is well worth the subscription.

  • yeah mrgeneric67 i agree i met mr. rizzo when my band opened for him in kc he told me one of his major influences is john petrucci from dream theater and they do a lot of reusing riffs for a theatrical style feel like the glass prison and shattered fortress he probably was goin for that kind of approach

  • Amazing Licks! Awsome!

  • that was amazing!!! this guy is almost as good as john petrucci from dream theater

  • long live soulfly! they r touring with prong right now

    fucking god like!

  • old riffs???....pls, I think here is no matter about old or new solos or riffs..because it is Rizzo...this is his Style..."Rizzo-style"

  • Nothing to do with style, and everything to do with note for note using some of the exact same riffs.

It would be like listening to Metallica's Sad But True and when the solo comes, it's all of a sudden the Master of Puppets solo again.

He literally have several parts in several songs that are note for note the exact same as in previous albums.

  • You clearly don't understand what I'm saying and are being a complete fanboy. If you think it's fine to reuse old riffs in new songs, that's cool. I personally don't like it and stated my opinion on it.

  • The only thing bugging me about his new album is that he's reused a bunch of old riffs on a few of his songs for some reason (including this one - the opening solo around 30 seconds...)

But it's got some great songs and some stuff that doesn't sound any of his older stuff. It's pretty solid all around.

  • Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Personally I still thing Colossal Myopia was better than this overall. Gotta give him credit tho, guy has made 3 solo albums now, some content has to be similar a little bit.
