That would be standard procedure for police to be lenient and let them off with a warning as long as they apologise and promise never to go there again.
I suspect if they continued their belligerent attitude then they would have faced a magistrate.
But a few hours along in a county jail cell to think about spending a couple months in the same kind of place if prosecuted, I suspect they change their tune quite quickly.

When you decided to shout at the people in the offices that they were "suppliers of torture", you're causing a breach of the peace and assaulting them. (Contrary to what you say in some of your videos, assault requires no contact, it is purely being threatening).

Err... we were protesting peacefully!! It's the fault of the police for arresting peaceful and law abiding protesters. First arrest unlawful so all the "obstruction of police" arrests unlawful by default because the officer was not acting lawfully. All charges dropped tells the story.
Private property does not allow protests without the authority of the land owner. No all charges dropped can be a lot of things. Sometimes no further action is taken since it is not worth the time to take to court. Although baiting officers with running to and from? It's not surprising at all and I don't doubt that you will sit in the dock before too long.
Actually the protest and the first arrest occurred on public property. The police made the decision to drag the arrestee onto private property. The other protesters then had to enter private property in an attempt to intervene. The police could have easily conducted the arrest and detention on public property and then there would be no issue with trespass.

Where most people would rather not eat meat if it meant killing it themselves, very few are prepared to act on this & actually change their behaviour. The hardest thing for anyone to do it to accept that they have been wrong. I had to do it before I gave up meat (only about 2 1/2 years ago). Let me know how it goes.

Well no meat product in the UK will be from an animal that's died naturally sadly, and over 90% are raised in factory farm conditions. Actually the majority of pasta doesn't contain egg, so that's not a problem. Again, egg farming is a brutal industry. Recent exposes of even free range egg farms have been shockingly bad, not to mention all the male chicks being killed at 1 day old because they don't lay eggs. I use soya milk in tea, but there are also rice, almond, oat, & numerous others.
There are so many animal-imitation products in the UK that are completely animal-free as well. There are loads of types of dairy-free cheese, animal-free 'bacon' rashers, animal-free 'chicken' strips, mince, turkey, ham and even things like chorizo sausage has an animal-free alternative available, although you would never realise unless you look for it. Health food shops tend to be the best places to go. If you want any advice on anything then please don't hesitate.

Their job isn't to break the law. Video I have shows conversation with cop before arrests were made - he refuses to say what law we were breakin (which, incidentally, was none). We were on public land, staging lawful protest with 4 people. We weren't intimidatin and were just usin our democratic and human rights to protest. In the end, we weren't even charged with anythin because, despite having our footage and theirs, they couldn't prove we'd done anything wrong. I also like the end bit though!

Actually I did see what they were doing prior to the arrest. I was the girl filming the original arrest, the first one to get (may I state, unlawfully) arrested for obstruction.
These cops were just irritated because it was a hot day and they couldn't do anything about us because we weren't breakin any law. That's why they made some crap up and arrested us.
In the end, no charges were even brought against us - it didn't even get that far because it was so obvious we'd done nothin wrong!
the police man has every right to do what he did, you were on private property, and he had every right to arrest them all, lucky for you more officers did not arrive, otherwise you would have been in trouble.
We were on public land when the first arrest happened (see the top video under "related videos") - I was just filming and wasn't getting in the way anyway. We only went on private land because that's where the cop car was.
Trespass isn't a criminal matter anyway - it's a civil matter. If you refuse to leave when asked by the owner of the land to do so, then the cops can get involved.
What would other officers have done? Given us a beating?

That would be standard procedure for police to be lenient and let them off with a warning as long as they apologise and promise never to go there again.
I suspect if they continued their belligerent attitude then they would have faced a magistrate.
But a few hours along in a county jail cell to think about spending a couple months in the same kind of place if prosecuted, I suspect they change their tune quite quickly.

Alan, I think most reasonable people think that the embarrassment lies solely with you... You and your cronies should be (but aren't) ashamed of yourselves. If you wish to protest, fair enough. If that protest then breaches the law, then expect to be arrested. Most professional campaigners such as Greenpeace accept that and actually don't give the police any shit when it comes to arrest time - they have made their point. Err... we were protesting peacefully!! It's the fault of the police for arresting peaceful and law abiding protesters. First arrest unlawful so all the "obstruction of police" arrests unlawful by default because the officer was not acting lawfully. All charges dropped tells the story.

Private property does not allow protests without the authority of the land owner. No all charges dropped can be a lot of things. Sometimes no further action is taken since it is not worth the time to take to court. Although baiting officers with running to and from? It's not surprising at all and I don't doubt that you will sit in the dock before too long.

Actually the protest and the first arrest occurred on public property. The police made the decision to drag the arrestee onto private property. The other protesters then had to enter private property in an attempt to intervene. The police could have easily conducted the arrest and detention on public property and then there would be no issue with trespass.

I appreciate you giving it real thought because most people just dismiss the idea and slander personally people who actually make changes in their lives to accommodate their beliefs. Where most people would rather not eat meat if it meant killing it themselves, very few are prepared to act on this & actually change their behaviour. The hardest thing for anyone to do it to accept that they have been wrong. I had to do it before I gave up meat (only about 2 1/2 years ago). Let me know how it goes.

Well no meat product in the UK will be from an animal that's died naturally sadly, and over 90% are raised in factory farm conditions. Actually the majority of pasta doesn't contain egg, so that's not a problem. Again, egg farming is a brutal industry. Recent exposes of even free range egg farms have been shockingly bad, not to mention all the male chicks being killed at 1 day old because they don't lay eggs. I use soya milk in tea, but there are also rice, almond, oat, & numerous others.

There are so many animal-imitation products in the UK that are completely animal-free as well. There are loads of types of dairy-free cheese, animal-free 'bacon' rashers, animal-free 'chicken' strips, mince, turkey, ham and even things like chorizo sausage has an animal-free alternative available, although you would never realise unless you look for it. Health food shops tend to be the best places to go. If you want any advice on anything then please don't hesitate.

Their job isn't to break the law. Video I have shows conversation with cop before arrests were made - he refuses to say what law we were breakin (which, incidentally, was none). We were on public land, staging lawful protest with 4 people. We weren't intimidatin and were just usin our democratic and human rights to protest. In the end, we weren't even charged with anythin because, despite having our footage and theirs, they couldn't prove we'd done anything wrong. I also like the end bit though!

Oh, no! We protested within the law (shameful!) then, when people got arrested, cops broke the law, we filmed what was happenin (also legal! What extremists we are!) and consequently also got arrested.

3. Police do good work sometimes, sometimes they break the law themselves. When they're breakin the law and arrestin and assaultin people who are just tryin to speak up against something (and not breaking the law) I dislike them, if they're protecting someone from attack, that's a different matter!
Experiences I've had with cops have varied, these ones were particularly...well, stupid!

Actually I did see what they were doing prior to the arrest. I was the girl filming the original arrest, the first one to get (may I state, unlawfully) arrested for obstruction.
These cops were just irritated because it was a hot day and they couldn't do anything about us because we weren't breakin any law. That's why they made some crap up and arrested us.
In the end, no charges were even brought against us - it didn't even get that far because it was so obvious we'd done nothin wrong!

We were on public land when the first arrest happened (see the top video under "related videos") - I was just filming and wasn't getting in the way anyway. We only went on private land because that's where the cop car was.
Trespass isn't a criminal matter anyway - it's a civil matter. If you refuse to leave when asked by the owner of the land to do so, then the cops can get involved.
What would other officers have done? Given us a beating?
