The problem is that the American people (and many other people around the world) think that the cold war is over. IT IS NOT. It is alive and well it is just that freedom loving people have not been fighting it. I am glad that this is now starting to happen.

Go take a look at the film on Google video called "The History of Political Correctness" Then, if you feel like, find some stuff on critical theory. Have a good long think and wait for the clanging sound as the penny drops. I did. It works!

@stariajen Enjoy. I know what you mean. I get replies to stuff I said two years ago sometimes and I am totally lost unless I can what it was I said back then. LOL. You might also want to look at the activities of the Frankfurt School, the Fabians (UK) and feminism. For example, very few people realise that feminism and terrorism were closely linked in the 1960's and of those that do, few understand why. Take care.

@stariajen No, there is a direct politically driven ideological relationship between them all. PC is very dangerous. Herbert Marcuse and his friends at the Frankfurt School created it as a way of undermining the Western Capitalist system using politics, applied mass psychology and playing to the lowest human emotional common denominators (The need to rebel etc) and the application of critical theory. A good documentary is 'The Weather Underground' on You Tube.

@stariajen Yes. Sorry. I used PC to save space in these tiny comment boxes. Political Correctness is actually a political ideology and many people have no idea that is what it is. It is also a weapon. Watch the video "The History Of Political Correctness" to get a good little overview. It's on Google Videos and on here somewhere.

The university's suppression of student speech is perfectly antithetical to the ideals of a liberal society.

Valdosta State is a public university, therefore the President Ronald Zaccari was a government official (he's no longer President). The President  has the legal obligation to defend our Constitution and protect his students' constitutionally protected rights, not be the primary impediment to their free exercise.

You ever notice how none of the people in these videos are those who actually wanted to censor? It seems very telling that they don't respond to FIRE's attempts to contact and actually get an answer as to WHY those particular faculty or staff members love shoving their ideology down everyone else's throat on campus.

Not that I am siding with the college, but what the video fails to mention is what I think might have been the a red flag word on that collage - Memorial. That word indicated that the parking structure would be named after Zaccari after he was dead. Since he was alive, I think they thought (overreacted - more likely?) Hayden might be planning something. Clearly he did not and was not going to. I hope Hayden decided not to go back after they said he could. I hope he made a college of FU's

I am a big supporter of FIRE and the work they do - this was no exception. My comment stands on it's own and needs no other explanation to convey that I do not side with the college.

I've got to admit that the kid is totally in the wrong. Colleges should have enough parking to accommodate everyone, and the construction should go forward, imo. Parking lots cause asthma? HAH!

But I'm glad that FIRE stuck up for the kid anyway. You shouldn't be allowed to kick someone out of college just because they have a warped sense of reality.
