  • I would just add that newbies need to be particularly careful of working their shoulders; I've seen more shoulder injuries than knee injuries based on taking shoulders too far, too soon.

  • Ok, just to clarify on what she's doing when she is standing on her one leg, she is doing a reverse fly, which is the back head of the deltoid (shoulder muscle). This muscle helps keep your shoulder blade stable in opposition with your chest muscles (pectoralis major and minor).

    If you can't stand on 1 leg like her, I recommend bending over at 90 degrees and resting your head on something soft, like a clothed table. This is just to put pressure off your lower back and your head.
