  • awesome! my mother has a huge shagbark in her 2 acre field and since this year has been an abundant year for many tree growth, ive colected atleast 500 nuts to plant for next year. thanks for letting me know that i can also eat them.

  • Thanks! The Shagbark Hickory is found throughout southern Ontario south and east of Lake Huron and northeast along the St. Lawrence River north of Lake Ontario into southern Quebec. There are also exists two populations near the southern extent of the Bruce Peninsula. This is the native range in Canada, but in the U.S. they are much more extensive. Here is a map showing the entirety of their range
