Obviously a police officer cannot search you for no reason, if they want to search you they must have your consent or a warrant unless the cop has reasonable grounds to believe you have committed a crime, carrying illegal items in your car or house or in the case where someone in your house maybe hurt. Without reasonable grounds to search they must have a warrant or your consent. In the case of this video they had reasonable grounds as they saw a keg of alcohol in a car with under-aged people.

@POLAK1Nysa I have studied The Criminal Code of Canada and The Canadian Charter of Rights and the difference between the searches of someone in Security and someone who is a Police Officer. For a security guard to search they first have to have made an arrest, and then need concent for the search (which is a pat down). A police officer does not always need concent for a search. He/she can search by what security or witnesses say to him/her or with warrant or by reasonal cause.

Now if he by chance sees a bottle of beer in the car or smells alcohol on the driver he stops for a violation ticket originaly then he now has a right to arrest the person for drinking and driving, have the car towed away, and give a $3000 fine, plus he has reasonable cause to search your car.
