  • This brings back such wonderful memories of my childhood! My big brother had this single and used to let me play it on his record player along with a few other old classics...love it :)

  • That's Richie Blackmore on guitar!

  • I was 12 when this came out. I still love it.

  • I can remember sitting on some steps outside a club in Soho listening to this when I was 15

  • I saw this in Telstar and fell in love!!

  • Like all of Meeks productions the sound/song scares the shit out of me...there is something very wrong about the sound...It would work very well as a soundtrack to a murder tholugh.

  • i love the intro

  • lets face it, its good, it was made in the days when they couldn't make stuff better by using a computer,

  • See? This is something I can't figure out, 'Just Like Eddie' is a catchy tribute to another great singer/guitarists but the article seems to reflect just how square people were/are back in the days. Seems like every music that Heinz came out with, were rocking numbers.

  • The band on this are The Outlaws. Chas Hodges bass, Ritchie Blackmore lead guitar, Mick Underwood drums and Ken Lundgren guitar. The piano player is Geoff Goddard who was the songwriter. Hope this clears up the myths.

  • Heinz did in fact have singles released in the US on the Decca label. Any collector of this material should know that much. This is Ritchie Blackmore on guitar, Joe Moretti it is not... what are you inhaling?

  • Joe Moretti is brilliant on the guitar in this recording

  • class

  • @hollywoodwasp So, you don't think that's his voice, right here?!? Jeez....

  • @Khultan Actually this is mentioned in the movie about Joe Meeks life, Geoff Goddard, who wrote this, claimed it is his voice on the record.

  • @FabFM So, end of speculation. It's Heinz Burt.

  • @Khultan I'm not saying it isn't, or it is, just what was claimed. Don't care who it is anyway, the song is the best part.

  • @FabFM 'Don't care who it is'? Fuck your noncommitall view point.

  • @Khultan I don't care who it is, it's hardly the greatest vocal in the world. Use the f word if you want, don't bother me, just makes you look a tit.

  • @Khultan Well said my friend, this was part of my past and I am proud of it!

  • @yorkie6687 Cool. : ) ♪♪♪♪

  • Heinz rocked! An unwilling rock star, the apple of Joe Meek's eye! Poor Heinz met a dreadful end but kept rocking ! If he were alive today I would not be throwing cans of beans at him, but instead giving him a well deserved standing ovation for guts alone! And not to forget he was an original Tornado as well! Heinz was the epitome of over-hyped mediocrity but he gave it his all and for that he has earned my respect!

  • Loved this song as a kid - my dad being called Eddie x happy memories

  • I have to be honest, I have not ever heard this song before, boyfriend asked me to play it for him on here, I love love this song!!! I love when an old song is new to me ehehe, it's a cool pleasure!

  • i love this song just for the kick drum on the intro.. sounds great at the pictures! (Telstar)... a shot in the dark here now 45rpmSINGLES.. did heinz ever release 'movin in' as a single? i can't find it anywhere...

  • Shane MacGowan borrowed this song's hook for his Rock n Roll Paddy. (No-one else mentioned that, so I thought I'd better!)

  • what a brilliant song should have gone to number one heinz was my best mate rest in peace mate miss you

  • Heinz Burt played Halifax on the 30th of January, 1965 at the Marlborough Hall (which I think is now the Halifax YMCA). This information comes from former referee Trevor Simpson's brilliant book 'Small Town Saturday Night'.

  • Thanks for this 45rpmSINGLES.

  • Now i used to love this! just 1 of thousands of records of my dads (r.i.p) that was on his phillips stereo with 1 tape deck & wooden panel across the front!

  • how many bpm is this

  • Great song, probably gonna play it on the jukebox tomorrow!

  • I'm only 28 and I love this song. First heard it in the movie 'Telstar' which I totally loved too. Also have 'Telstar' (The Tornados) and 'Johnny Remember Me' (John Leyton) on my ipod. I find it weird that my mum doesn't like them though (she was a pre-teen during that era)!

  • dunno if u knew this but heinz painted trains for british rail in the 80's. i only know that because someone i knew worked with him

  • Blackmore rules!!!

  • when he died he was age-57

  • A great track from Heinz. Its a pity that tastes in music change and a lot of great artists fell by the wayside when beatlemania hit .

  • I hope you havent heard the version by syntheszer band !"Silicon Teens" You would have an apoplectic fit!!!

  • one of numerous Heinz songs that Ritchie Blackmore was a part of.........

  • very good song and my name is Eddie XD

  • Great tribute to the late great Eddie Cohcran!

  • i absolutely love this song

  • Does Heinz remind anyone else(apart from me!) of Spike (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame).

  • Also great to see the newspaper cuttings and the other 45s. The 60s were such a great time for uplifting records like this!

  • Many thanks for posting this. A tune that always "lifted" you!
