This brings back such wonderful memories of my childhood! My big brother had this single and used to let me play it on his record player along with a few other old classics...love it :)
Like all of Meeks productions the sound/song scares the shit out of me...there is something very wrong about the sound...It would work very well as a soundtrack to a murder tholugh.
See? This is something I can't figure out, 'Just Like Eddie' is a catchy tribute to another great singer/guitarists but the article seems to reflect just how square people were/are back in the days. Seems like every music that Heinz came out with, were rocking numbers.
The band on this are The Outlaws. Chas Hodges bass, Ritchie Blackmore lead guitar, Mick Underwood drums and Ken Lundgren guitar. The piano player is Geoff Goddard who was the songwriter. Hope this clears up the myths.
Heinz did in fact have singles released in the US on the Decca label. Any collector of this material should know that much. This is Ritchie Blackmore on guitar, Joe Moretti it is not... what are you inhaling?
Heinz rocked! An unwilling rock star, the apple of Joe Meek's eye! Poor Heinz met a dreadful end but kept rocking ! If he were alive today I would not be throwing cans of beans at him, but instead giving him a well deserved standing ovation for guts alone! And not to forget he was an original Tornado as well! Heinz was the epitome of over-hyped mediocrity but he gave it his all and for that he has earned my respect!
I have to be honest, I have not ever heard this song before, boyfriend asked me to play it for him on here, I love love this song!!! I love when an old song is new to me ehehe, it's a cool pleasure!
i love this song just for the kick drum on the intro.. sounds great at the pictures! (Telstar)... a shot in the dark here now 45rpmSINGLES.. did heinz ever release 'movin in' as a single? i can't find it anywhere...
Heinz Burt played Halifax on the 30th of January, 1965 at the Marlborough Hall (which I think is now the Halifax YMCA). This information comes from former referee Trevor Simpson's brilliant book 'Small Town Saturday Night'.
Now i used to love this! just 1 of thousands of records of my dads (r.i.p) that was on his phillips stereo with 1 tape deck & wooden panel across the front!
I'm only 28 and I love this song. First heard it in the movie 'Telstar' which I totally loved too. Also have 'Telstar' (The Tornados) and 'Johnny Remember Me' (John Leyton) on my ipod. I find it weird that my mum doesn't like them though (she was a pre-teen during that era)!

@hollywoodwasp So, you don't think that's his voice, right here?!? Jeez....
Khultan 8 months ago
@Khultan Actually this is mentioned in the movie about Joe Meeks life, Geoff Goddard, who wrote this, claimed it is his voice on the record.
FabFM 5 months ago
@FabFM So, end of speculation. It's Heinz Burt.
Khultan 5 months ago
@Khultan I'm not saying it isn't, or it is, just what was claimed. Don't care who it is anyway, the song is the best part.
FabFM 5 months ago
@FabFM 'Don't care who it is'? Fuck your noncommitall view point.
Khultan 5 months ago
@Khultan I don't care who it is, it's hardly the greatest vocal in the world. Use the f word if you want, don't bother me, just makes you look a tit.

@Khultan Well said my friend, this was part of my past and I am proud of it!

Shane MacGowan borrowed this song's hook for his Rock n Roll Paddy. (No-one else mentioned that, so I thought I'd better!)

A great track from Heinz. Its a pity that tastes in music change and a lot of great artists fell by the wayside when beatlemania hit .
