  • I think it's what Jane Stadler at WMNR 98.3FM1 CT Operations sited as "Gorecki: Symphony # 3 from an Elektra Nonesuch CD, # 979282." It sounds like the version they played on their station last Friday at the 3:00 hour.

  • Esta pieza la escuche en el juego call of duty es una gran obra melancolica...

  • One of the most magnificent pieces of music I've ever heard. The first time I heard it I bought the cd the same day! It's just stunning. Thank you so much for posting the complete symphony.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I absolutely love the "Rec 3," pardon the pun. I don't think a more moving piece of music has ever been written. It brings me to tears every time. Have you by any chance heard the recording on the Naxos label?

  • stunning! love every minute of it!

  • Thank you SO much for posting this in its entirety. It's such an amazing example of truly great composition.

  • 44:40 gets me every time.

  • Our souls connecting with the Universe!

  • Everytime I listen to this my heart breaks down. It's just too profound.

  • The sound of my heart singing......and crying...

  • You know....I'd never even heard the name "Górecki" until I'd listened to Lamb's song by the same title. I'm so glad I did a little research into it and found this masterful piece of music. Thank you so very much for posting it.

  • Thanks for the upload. I mean Thanks!

  • Friends, this is the original recording of sorrowful songs and the only one worth listening to. It was recorded in Poland in 1976 by the Polish Symfonia . The conductor is Anton Wit and the soprano is not Yawn upshore and away, .The voice yr hearing is that of the sublime Zofia Kilanowicz . Avoid all imitations please.

  • @missjulitha Stefania Wojtowitch is another sublime Polish singer, I think she recorded it before Kilanowicz.

  • @missjulitha Your comment is about as tasteless as whoever is singing this recording.

  • Can you tell me which version this is? I mean who played it.

  • @jacobdakrn

Sorry but unfortunately i don´t have that information, i tried to find out...

  • @jacobdakrn I'm pretty sure it's David Zinman's 1991 recording, with Dawn Upshaw on solo soprano. It's one of the best selling classical music recordings of all time.

  • @erasmusherzen bad! the best is zofia kilanowicz version Upshaw version is very bad

  • @jacobdakrn

I'm almost sure it is the 1991 recording by David Zinman conducting the London Sinfonietta, featuring Dawn Upshaw as soloist. Probably the best recording available!

  • @jacobdakrn It is the one made in 1992, Conductor: David Zinman, Orchestra: London Simphonietta, Soprano: Dawn Upshaw.

  • @jacobdakrn Dawn Upshaw, soprano. London Sinfonietta. David Zinman, conductor

  • @jacobdakrn I know the Soloist for the first movement has the name Gene Upshaw

  • the second movement kills me... I cannot hear it - at any point - without tearing up. This is brilliant...
