  • who is doing the version of blue on blue used here?

  • Looks smooth, very impressed that you built it. I've had some great success using a Cam Caddie to get skate shots. I've been able to get night shots by attaching lights to it as well pretty damn convenient.

  • nice setup, whats the song?

  • pretty good!

  • i can just imagine how annoying it is to push the dolly every single shot until the skaters actually land the trick

  • nice, its clean but you gotta get rid of the trails

  • Pretty mad bro :P try to get the dolly out of the shot though.

  • freaking nice, you should do a longer skatevideo

  • very nice and smooth. i love the frame wipes with the foreground concrete edges.

  • so slow and smooth. i love it

  • Excellent smoothness

  • Nice !! check out my chanell and my movie A ramp. I used a homemade dolly in that one :)

  • Whats the song?

    Röyksopp - So Easy

    From Melody AM (2001)

  • awesome man

dolly shots always make a project look more professional

  • Nice

  • I know it hurt but it was great timing for the honk.

  • great smooth footage, well done!

  • I LOVE HOW YOU CAN SEE THE DOLLY IN MOST CLIPS XD

  • Could you show a pic of your dolly?

    thanks

  • great video . next time hide your track a little better.

  • The Shot starting right at :17 secondslooks sweet

  • Good stuff man. Try to avoid having the track in the shot though. Otherwise you got some sick footage.

  • SICK!!!!

  • its a little wobbly

  • Dude you did awesome on this. Very excited to try this out now

  • @atakan196

    problem: you cant read descriptions

  • Fantastic Test... I am in the process of making my own version of a track dolly by using skateboards, PVC tubes and MDF!

  • looks really nice! whats the song?

  • just spend 500 bucks for a dollytrax...it's a lot less of a hassle than this...i've got one and it works fantastic...type dollytrax in search

  • Great job! Finally someone makes a smooth dolly, And i love how everyone has to point out that the track is in the picture when you clearly stated it... What the hell guys? And also, the skateboarding was rightous!

  • Some awesome shots, although be caurful you dont film the dolly track

  • sick dude

  • this shits dope! i drive by the curve in the beginning shot, all the time

  • how did u make the dolly??

  • looks really super

  • looks great!

try not to get the track in the shot though.

  • nice shots man just gotta cut out the tracks

  • Agreed If his camera was a little higher it would be fine.

  • Very good. But you could make it into wide screen format to make it more movie like and cut out the track that comes in video.

  • gooood!

  • song name?

  • so easy- royskopp

  • o and one more thing how do u have your camera so low do u use a small tripod or you just have it on wood or soemthingc aseu all the small tripods ive seen cant hold up my cam

  • some tripods have a threaded pipe between the legs. if you get thread that fits cameras(i cant think of the size right now) you can fix the camera to it. even if the camera is upside down you can just rotate it in production

  • i used pvc and left over skate wheels but mine is not nearly as fucking smooth as yours it pisses me off did you use new wheels and bearing ( ima ssuming u sued skate wheels)

  • I actually just used casters from lowes

  • really thats awesome yeah i realized it was my old wheels that were causing the shaking so i went and bought two sets of some blanks and its alot smoother i uplkoaded a test last night yours still is too smooth great job you should post a video showering your design like even if it just a picture or somehting lol

  • amazing footage, and filming. planning on making one of these soon. how much did your materials cost?

  • I skate ad know alot of skate terms but what is a dolly

  • a dolly is a platform where your camera stands on and then you can ride it.

  • Its a platform a camera sits on, that rides on two tracks, so it gives a nice moving shot in your video. (has nothing to do with skating) just the video your watching has skateboarders in it!

  • this is pretty sick, i plan on making one of these for filming snowboarding. it really gives a smooth professional quality to the video. good stuff!

  • thts sick

  • typical dolly skate footage. do something about the track in every shot.

  • do something about your lack of reading of the 'more info' section before you shred someone dude.

  • you see the edge of the dolly at 1:03

  • you see the edge through the whole video... I stated it in the description

  • i didn't realize, thought it was a mistake. Good dolly though, i'm hoping to make one like it for my next film, coming to cinema near dundee, scotland. Free punch and haggis

  • you see like the entire thing at :51. but sick dolly anyway

  • Looks awesome!

  • where is this place?

  • Ventura CA

  • what's the name of the song???

    ANSWER PLEASE!!!

  • so easy

    by rocksopp or what ever

  • where are those barriers at !

  • do you push it once and let it roll or do you keep pushing it

  • That is a very smooth dolly. Excellent.

  • VERY NICE!!! Just gotta keep the track out of the shots.

  • hahahahhahahahahahah

    yaaaaaaaaa

  • this video is awesome...i know it's a test but the music and the shots are amazing...and i'm not even into skateboarding. might i ask what the title of this track is?

  • i think it's royksopp - so easy

  • love it, jealous of the tracks

and also of america cause skateboarding sucks in the UK

  • true dat. Where in UK do you live?

  • Blackpool lol

  • Comment removed

  • is that mike manderson

  • cool how did u make that

    love the audio

    looks so proffesional

  • that looks sick man. how'd you make it?

  • i like it alot at the begining ... but please tell me your not going to use the dolly the whole time???

  • simply beautiful...i would like to get the same effect but i don't know how to do...

    frank from Italy

  • nice work, looked great ,just remember to zoom in or angle the cam diff ,and run through the shot first looking at the lcd so we dont see the track, but other than that it looked smooth, good job, and your friends can sk8 like a mofo

  • yeah great results smooth

  • Great results!

  • Love the audio track.

  • ventura. tight. ive been up there a couple times

  • just a question: why not rather use simply a tripod on wheels? they sell an adapter at BHPhotoVideo for $39...

    just my 2cents

  • Ground might not always be smooth

    (Just my guess)

  • @chrisbanach what do you think is smoother? the surface of any given ground? or the surface of a pvc pipe?

  • try not to show the track, looks unprofessional

  • dis shit goes hard nigga.

  • whats a dolly?

  • The barrier spot is awesome, did you guys modify it so you could roll up like that?

  • sick

  • 1:28 is in this is my element

  • nice!you got the ave berrier in there!

  • this is really great for a test's standards. the dolly really improves the quality of the video. idk what you're using to steady the camera on, but if you want to dolly-pan, you can take a $25-$50 camera tripod, oil up the x- axis 'rotation mechanism', and use a rubber band (which absorbes the shocks from a shaky hand) to pull the camera frame side to side while it rolls on the dolly. ...it would be "sick."

  • very nice, congratulations, greetings from Costa Rica.

  • nice work that must be a big dolly the track pipe looks big

  • Nice job, your dolly is great!

  • So Easy-Royksopp

  • nice job

  • that guy on the right at 0:49 looks like Chad Tim Tim..... Nice dolly, smooth and consistent

  • the dolley is in the shot for a lot of them

    but its good

  • what's the name of the song at the beggining

  • so like does somone else move it or is the track on a slant

  • It looks like professional, thanks for this videos!

  • damn man if the track wasn't in some of the shots this would be perfec ha

    good job!

  • cool dolly!!! what's the name of the song?

  • Where did you get this song? It is the bomb...

The camera dolly made some awesome shots... It made the whole video worth watching.

  • very nice and smooth footage. The low camera angle sure helps alot for great effect filming

  • very nice man props

  • how did u make the dolly? and is the track just pvc pipe?

  • its like wheels put on ply wood and the wheels go to a track which is pvc pipe

    look in the related videos

  • Great smooth shots man, and I really dig the Royksopp song (one of my favs). Did you work off of plans you found online or what?

  • you can see the dolly in alot of your shots

  • Can´t you read: " homemade dolly TEST "

  • and it says in the description that you can see the dolly in some of the shots.

  • wow, that was very smooth.

  • youtube actually didnt fuck the quality to bad nice job

  • what you fillm it with?

  • this was shot with a sony vx2100. My daily setup is a vx1000 w/ century mk1 fisheye, and a vx2100

  • wow nice pro skating there! The dolly is good too :D

  • i saw the track in the shot

  • read the description. do you feel smart now?

  • hahaa

  • ...

  • Nice job, your dolly is great!

can i see how does it look like?

  • the song is Royksopp - So Easy

  • This was a great job, esp for a test. I can't wait to see some final versions of your stuff!

  • whats the song

  • i can see part of the dolly

  • read the description

  • i think he can't :P

  • this song rocks , what is it called?????

  • awesome man!

  • Very Nice!! thats sick great job!

  • i think what would make it better is if it was moving

    at a slightly faster pace

  • damn, really good color!

  • nice it lookes really sick

yeah a dolly is pretty good for skating i think to :)

  • nice it lookes really sick

yeah a dolly is pretty good for skating i think to :)

  • nice it lookes really sick

yeah a dolly is pretty good for skating i think to :)

  • sick !

  • i think this dolly thing is a really good idea for skate videos it looks good

  • you can see the track!!!????

    fucking morons

  • Read the "About This Video", you fucking moron!!!???

  • Good song :)

  • pretty smooth shots

  • it seems impractical for a skate video but if you do alot of shooting in one place and its easy to pick up and move to a different place the smoothness of the dolly adds a sweet effect

  • just a comment.

this type of shot is so common in skateboarding..

and for the purpose of filming these shots, a dolly is impractical.

if you want to the smooth dolly shots without having to lug around a track and all that, just get some softer wheels for your board and be super steady.

  • beautiful!:) what model camera did u use?

  • Sony vx2100, read the description.

  • Nice looking shots, that's a good camera.

  • its cool, and people, if he was making a vid he would raise the cam on something so the track isnt shown. its just a test for the dolly

  • There are several shots where you can see the track...

  • good job, really pro:)

  • the thing is great, th movement and the gadget, I mean, but the video is alittle bit boring

  • I thought the track was not supposed to be in the shot.

  • Paint them green and use some green-screen program such as Adobe Premiere or iMovie.

  • but then you'd have to replace them with something, and it would look even worse

anyway, it doesn't matter that they are there.

particularly liked the contrasting colours (yellow and grey)

  • nice work. smooth on the dolly

  • iys jerry hsu and daniel

  • what do you use to compress the footy, it looks really good

  • not sure what he uses, but check out sorenson squeeze

  • sickk...but you should zoom in a little so that part of the dolly doesnt show...

  • it was really smooth nice job

  • I like the bloke blaming the car horn. Yeah right. oh and cool looking dollies as well

  • really smooth! I like the way you setup forgrounds

  • Hey just wondering how you got that panning effect?

  • thats what a dolly is, which is what this video is testing and made for.

  • real nice! awesome job

    looks realy pro!

  • do you have any lenses on your vx? im looking for one for my vx21

    oh and whats the song

  • the song is royksopp - so easy. yep. fresh.
