I do put a jacket on my dog when the weather gets bad (30 F and under) but he doesn't need that sweater right now. Westies are not lap dogs. Mine has killed quite a few small animals.

Hey! I'm deciding between buying a Cairn Terrier or a West Highland White Terrier! I really can't see much of a difference between them but I was wondering if you can give me some info regarding the dog's temperament, and size. I want a dog that wont grow much the smaller I can get and also a dog who is not hostile with the people who come to my house and one that takes orders easily. I don't want an annoying pet. Considering this could you tell me which one is better for me? Thanks!

I own both and I can tell you that the Cairn is much more independent than the westie. The Westie would make an awesome pet. Mine is very friendly and well behaived. Love the easy goin laid back attitude of the westie. Plus their very cute!

The westie is not sliding, he is backing up. He actually looks kind of sad. At the beginning, it even appears that they are laughing at him. I'm sure they weren't, but they also weren't paying attention to the little guy. You should not have a pet if you are going to ignore it. Look at his eyes. He looks sad. I want to adopt all sad westies because I would make them happy.
