  • SUBLIME Y FASCINANTE!!!. ARIGATO.

  • Why is this not conservative? It's fecking traditional Japanese music.

  • I love this song :)

  • There are many different branches of the conservative tree. I am open to different cultures and new ideas, yet consider myself conservative because I believe in the merits of limited, constitutional government, fiscal responsibility, free markets, freedom of association and (whenever possible) empowering states and local communities.

  • austin is now a better place because of this lovely evening

  • Does anybody know how this guitare like instrument is called?

  • @Samurai21041989

  • smooth as yoga, sexy as hell, good relaxing music

  • Those that poo poo the Japanese traditional culture as dull or boring do not in any way understand it. The arts are sublime, esoteric, often tied to the multitude of Buddhist practices, whose practices require mindfulness, concentration and focus.

  • @zanewoody Why do you say that? there is really cool stuff about every people you just have to dig a little deeper or open you studies of western culture because there is alot of really cool stuff. Japanese culture is very cool too!!!

  • is dit japanse josti band?

  • I love this music. Japan is awesome!

  • A short kimono is called HAPPI.

    It's a workman's livery.

  • these girls are very beautiful.. and there voice is very good....OHIO U.S.A.

  • Suteki! Kedo, onamae wa nan desu ka?

  • i thought that the younger women and girls wore the shorter kimonos and the older the longer O_o

  • the young girls ware short ones yes but by about 15 or so they are wareing full leaght kimono the diference in age for women is in the arms from what i know

  • Young women's kimonos have longer sleeves, signifying that they are not married, and tend to be more elaborate than similarly formal older women's kimono.

  • Very beautiful, wish I could have been there.

  • Sometimes I wonder if they sing like that just to make me feel like a pedophile

  • lol so true

  • Lmfao, classic.

  • @WizardsStaff hahahahaha ROFL

  • this is in Austin Texas?

what? I thought texas is super conservative.

  • it was SXSW Austin 2006, (South by Southwest) Japan nite.

  • @AvantiVideo I accidently clinked the 'Thumbs Down' on this comment. Pay NO ATTENTION TO IT! I'm very glad you uploaded this! Sorry! Sumimasen!

  • lol dude

  • What does that have to do with cultural events!!?? i am conservative. Please realize being conservative does not mean we are close minded. That is the liberal view of conservatives . please don't fall for it.

  • @300shields stfu redneck

    YEE HAW! lol

  • its only super conservative in the super conservative parts lol

  • @truesouthcorn Austin? Conservative? BAHAHAHAHA get real!! As a resident for 12 years I would know, I mean come on man, Keep Austin Weird!

BTW SXSW kicked ass this year (as always) though I did not see this show.

  • @truesouthcorn Texas is, but Austin isn't! Austin is a VERRRRYYYY liberal town. I live there and it is so different from the rest of the state.

  • @truesouthcorn

And you think Japanese people aren't conservative? If you ask me (I know a lot of Japanese people) They are just about as conservative as you can get, and some make GWB look like a socialist.

  • @truesouthcorn

Wait, I dont understand what Texas' conservatism has to do with a cultural display xD

  • @truesouthcorn

I live in Texas. (: The thing is it's so big that it really depends where you go. It's true that some parts are very conservative. Some are accepting and culturally diverse.

Take me for example, I live in San Antonio and I LOVE this music.

  • @truesouthcorn Texas is. Austin is not.

  • @truesouthcorn Texas is generally conservative. Austin, our capital, is the exception. XD Lol.

  • @truesouthcorn well it is an traditional piece isn't it ;-)

  • @truesouthcorn Texas "IS" super-conservative, but Austin may as well be like San Francisco or Key West. It's a great city!

  • @truesouthcorn Neither Austin nor the College and University campuses in South Texas are.

  • @truesouthcorn

Actually Austin is an exception, it has this whole alternative vibe, hippie culture etc. Janis Joplin studied at UT Austin. And whole foods showed up @ Austin. That's why Austin is so cool: it combines Texas' hospitality with Austin's alternative culture :-)

  • Very beautiful *_^ !!!

  • true awesome Edo music style!

  • I love this video. They are so cute and precious.

I could watch gaisha girls dance all day! She is jamming out on that little guitar.

  • shamisen.

  • I do think that classical European liberalism is a taaad bit "cooler" than Bushido, but certainly Japanese culture is a very interesting one.

  • the komono ladies in the front..is untraditional..wearing there Komonos in checkered board and very, very short!Other than that, its very entertaining!

  • @IgaNinja91

Indeed, those are other untraditional Kimono's but Umekichi is wearing is a very traditional Kimono :)

  • @IgaNinja91 It's a Kimono

  • @zanewoody It's all about how you promote culture eg like the packaging of a product. The Japanese are really good at this.

  • @videogaga999 no, it's about how good the culture actually is. Americans promote their culture much more then Japanese but it's shit, so nobody cares about it. On the other hand, Japanese culture is really beautiful.

  • @Vol4eg01 no...american culture is so ingrained into us you are already part of it so therefore cannot see it. Fast food? Everyday Movies? Jeans? Shirts? Music? Bet you didn't realised that there are American.

  • @videogaga999

theres no thing just as american culture, the things you listed are just invented by the americans

  • @zanewoody Why do you say that? there is really cool stuff about every people you just have to dig a little deeper or open you studies of western culture because there is alot of really cool stuff. Japanese culture is very cool too!!!

  • @zanewoody European culture is anything but dull. You are merely a naive individual. I hope that with extra years you will discover and grow to appreciate the beauty of all that humanity has to offer and accomplished.

  • @QwoPhasaArius your right last year i didnt like European culture but i went to the Prague and i love it now and im starting to listen to European music....WTF is happening to me...but now i like it

  • @QwoPhasaArius Amen to that! ^-^ I <3 Italy and their aproach to life. Also one of the biggest fashion capitals is there! France is beautiful also home to the top fashions in the world! (Not to mention they perfected the art of wine) Swiss Alps are amazing and the ingenuity of their people astounding. Ukrane...people with big heart...I could go on....Haven't explored russian culture yet...other than they have killer wild hamsters...

  • Man, do I love this video. Japananese culture is so simply, yet very elegant. Much better than chinese culture by far.

  • I agree its beautiful , but you should notice their culture mostly been adopted from Ancient Chinese "Tang dynasty culture" with some variations. Only a shadow or part of Great Ancient Chinese Culture.

  • it is not as hard as it seems, it only needs exercise and patience. you have to do it little by little and you' ll get used to it.you' ll sit like them, like it' s nothing

  • It also depends on you body shape, though, I don't think sumo wrestlers sit in seiza much... but otherwise, yes, mostly it's a question of practice.

  • Is that a real Geisha?

  • absolutely not man, lol, just a preformance

  • well it could be, they still exist...they just aren't so traditional as before, but they're still there =)

  • Ofcourse they still exist, go and do some research.

  • Deffinatly not geishas were in japanese "Traditionol times" and the girls around her wouldnt be dressed in little miniskirts like that.

  • These are not 'miniskirts', but happi, which are festive jackets worn at matsuri. Happi have been worn since the Tokugawa period, so it's quite traditional.
