A great loss, but now no more pain, and he certainly lived a full and active life, giving so much to the music scene may he rest in peace and have some great sessions in the sky.
Without a doubt - and thankfully there are people like you and andy and dave and all the other fine celtic traditionalists to keep this tradition alive - slainte!
You have just added song2 to the ronnie drew songbook folklore that is springing up all around us... very inspiring and very very well sung. Scileann fíon fírinne.
thanks for looking at the ballad of ronnie drew..i dont like the song but as a big dubliners fan i hope the song raises a lot of money for cancer..this song of urs is one brilliant song and i want it in the charts
Thank you for your very kind comments it was fun to write and fun to sing, and yes I hope the ballad of ronnie drew song raises a lot of money for cancer, their hearts seem to be in all the right places.
Great song Hobbit! Those are my sentiments about the man myself. He has definitely been my biggest inspiration in irish music. The first song I heard him sing was Easy and Slow, and it is probably still my favorite!
I don't think I can ever forget Ronnie. Thank you so much for writing this song, and sharing it. It is most wonderful.

Great job Gerry, in my opinion a much stronger song than the one with U2 & co, and a far more fitting tribute.
