Second closest finish in the Pepsi 400 history, the closest was in 2007 with Jamie McMurray & Kyle Busch at the Pepsi 400 were I was at that race & Jamie won by 00.005 Seconds!!!

In 1994, it was called the Firecracker 400. Yeah, the cars looked so different back then, and once the COT arrives by 2007-2008, the cars will look different than what it is today.

Aerodynamics and well everything on the outside and a lot on the inside are just so different. It's amazing how in the past 10 years Nascar has changed more than it did in the previous 50.

Was there really any confirmation about this? What did the inspectors say? And besides, considering the fact that Irvan almost beat him, can that also mean that his car wasn't legal as well? I don't expect you to answer those questions, since I think only Junior Johnson and those close to him would know the truth about all this, but it's just things to think about.

If he cheated NASCAR would have a record of it. I think the reason he won, was the fact he wrecked the field. I think the reason he won the other plate-race, was the fact that he wrecked the field. There seems to be a common theme to Spenser's wins. You say it's the plates, I say it's the fat ass wrecks half the field.

I have the 1994 Die-Hard 500 on tape..and he didn't cause any wrecks in it, there were two, two car incidents, and Spencer had nothikg to do w/ either.

First thing you should know. There is no such thing as a restrictor plate manifold. A restrictor plate is just a piece of aluminum with 4 holes between the carburetor and the plenum of the intake manifold. NASCAR issues the plates during inspections before any car takes to the track. Once the teams have them installed, the mounting studs are threaded with safety wire and sealed with Kryptonite. Then in post race inspection, the top 5 cars and maybe one random finisher will get torn down.

LOL First of all, even if it was with an 'illegal restrictor plate manifold', it wouldn't be Jimmy Spencer's fault, but rather Junior Johnson's, the car owner. Also, the person who made the accusation was none other than Robert Yates, and he first made the statement after the Talledega race when Spencer won that and his teammate Bill Elliot got 2nd. Yates' car was third, so to me, it was kind of a 'boo hoo' thing.

Spencer won at Talladega the same year, not the following year.
