This was one of my favourite games on the original xbox. The music, the story, the characters; everything was so powerful and so intense. It felt like you were really part of something important, this speech alone gave me chills when I played it as a kid.

@aclk90 Agreed. I think the USA is still a young enough country that fervent patriotism is still at a peak, whereas in Britain there is a certain weariness attached to it a lot of the time. But if you read through the rhetoric, its really about being proud of (and ruling) their homeland. This is actually amazing, it has a better script than most films, not to mention a much better soundtrack. His speech is emotive and powerful far beyond anything I've come to expect from videogames, it blew me away. It's been years since I played this but this scene always sticks in my mind - this game is outstanding.
This speech is probably one of the most inspirational speeches I know of in a game. The Gears 2 main speech is almost like a 2nd grade play compared to this one.
This is my favorite cut-scene from the game. His words are actually be inspiring to those caught up in the game. That speech is so realist in starting the Second American Revolution.
The first time I saw this speech I wanted to jump up and start screaming out of joy.....unfortunately my parents were home. We really need Freedom Fighters 2, too many games of this gen are utter crap with no soul except bullets flying everywhere.

Christopher Stone became the great man he did because of the Soviets. Had they not invaded the USA, he would have remained a regular joe. Inspiring, action packed and awesome graphics for the time it came out and actually still seems to hold some quality excellence with time.

Yeah i'm sorry i'm just so tired of these political debates from europeans about the U.S. being so bad. Pretty much every country has had a bad history so pointing fingers is a waste. Best we try to be good now. I'm not entirely happy with my country (the U.S.) but i believe one day it may be good again. This video is showing it trying to be good again. It's like they said about the ending. You don't know the worth of something like freedom till it's gone.

I know the UK had a big opium trade in china, they took control of east india through force and europe colonized and killed off a lot of the new world and other places with small pox while enslaving people from other countries. @hellzshotgun Actually you had the help of the Chinese (nationalists and communists), Koreans, some Russians, Vietnamese, Fillipino's etc. America was simply the first to move on to Japan itself whilst its armies were tied down fighting insurrectionists throughout the empire. They were commited by soldiers, who for the most part were normal Americans who thought that they were the good guys, and therefore had the right to punish the bad guys as they saw fit. That's patriotism for you. Maybe its good in America, but when you bring it with you to war, on business trips or vacations...

@aclk90 British soldiers committed atrocities in the name of patriotism against the Boers during the Boer War (we invented concentration camps, after all...), and the famous victory at Rourke's Drift was attained with the use of a Gatling gun. Soldiers do nasty things in every war, regardless of their nationality. As the saying goes, war is hell.

@aclk90 Agreed. I think the USA is still a young enough country that fervent patriotism is still at a peak, whereas in Britain there is a certain weariness attached to it a lot of the time. There's absolutely nothing wrong with loving one's country, but holding it up as the example everybody else should follow is silly at best (I mean, I love Britain, for all its faults, but I'd never recommend it as something to be copied, after all :)).

3) Those drug cartels are not occupying US, but a number of the nations they are in are occupied by the US.

@hellzshotgun All Americans I've known so far have fulfilled the stereotypes we love to hate. Yes some of the muslim radicals do talk about 'uniting' the world and such. But if you read through the rhetoric, its really about being proud of (and ruling) their homeland. No denying the place is messed up and needs sorting out (which the coalition tries to do in the wrong ways, buts that's another subject). The presence of American forces and cultural influence provides a scapegoat.

This is actually amazing, it has a better script than most films, not to mention a much better soundtrack. His speech is emotive and powerful far beyond anything I've come to expect from videogames, it blew me away. It's been years since I played this but this scene always sticks in my mind - this game is outstanding.

Christopher Stone became the great man he did because of the Soviets. Had they not invaded the USA, he would have remained a regular joe. Kind of like how Mikhail Kalashnikov would not have created the greatest assault rifle of all time if the Nazis hadn't invaded his country.
