I'm thirteen and I love June Carter and all of em. They should real class and resilience. I just read the book that her son wrote about her. There was a story about her pickin up the phone and then talkin for about an hour and when Roseanne (Cash's daughter) asked who it was, she said it was a wrong number. She's an amazing woman.

A beautiful song sung by my all time favorite group of singers, the Carter family. They were so great together it is hard to believe that I never hear them on the radio. June, Anita, and Helen were all fantastic. Maybelle had a terrific voice and her guitar playing was second to none except maybe Chet Atkins who was playing with them. Music doesn't get any better.

LIVE...not recorderd in the beginning! She was a comedian/singer. She did the "ROUTINES" repeatedly ....They were known as "Rountines" in her case....just as did MINNIE PEARL ! Also...as has.... every singer ........performed their same songs over and over on every show they were on. June did her regular routines with whomever the Host was on the show..that particular night ! She was Great

It's ok sugarcoma82 - it was a reasonable question. Her act was in constant demand and in those days TV producers told you what to say and do and if it worked once you repeated it a hundred times until everyone got sick of it.. Every Carter family member was comical (even Maybelle) and so was Johnny Cash but only June was extroverted enough to do this sort of stand-up routine regularly. Her act added marketable colour to a fiercely competitive TV entertainment industry.

It looks to be around 55-56. The tapes don't have any dates so that's as good as I can guess. I know she recorded "I'm Alright Now" in '56.

at this stage in their life June and anita could pass as twins, Anita had a lovely voice , but june was a real show woman with a good stage presenmtation, Helen excelled at everything from a sweet voice to multi instumental abilities
