  • I feel like I'm watching Dragon Quest Anime Version... in Last dungeon or something like that!

  • Let people say what they like about "influences". Just keep working no matter what. I love the serious work you are composing too. Classical technique opens doors to even higher potential. However, your talent will blow the doors down what ever you do. NO Fear. :)

  • This sounds like it should be on a Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest game.

  • This is by far the most difficult kind of composing. Kyle i have great respect for your composing skills ! :)

  • I want to hear this with an actual violinist!

It would sound so nice :)

  • Kyle, this is absolutely incredible. I cannot wait to hear the other movements.

  • Hmm, very "Prokofievian"! It really looks like something he would compose in his last phase, the melody, the harmony, the way you develop the music... Very good!!! (and interesting) ; )

  • Outstanding work! If I didn't know better I'd think perhaps it was by Ravel. Bravo. 5*

  • Your classical compositions are 1000 times better than your contemporary work. Please stay inspired to continue this kind of work. After all, it might not be as rewarding to your audience, but you and I both know it is deeply rewarding to you and the few who appreciate this kind of music. I wish I heard more Rachmaninoff influence from you though.

  • Hey Kyle, do you have any specific resources (books/teachers/composers/etc) that helped you get to this level? I'm a self taught guitarist that wants to be a video game/animated film composer; got a classical teacher recently but I'm just learning simplified classical pieces out of a book. I feel like I'm too far behind to write things like this by the time I make it to college, but I want to catch up more than I've ever wanted anything. Is there anything else special you've done to get here?

  • It's amazing that someone can compose such beauty like this. Please never stop doing this no matter what. I'm a huge fan and love what you do :3

  • @HerlockSholmes123 so what?

  • Omg!!! every time i heard this song i see my wife on the other side of my window on a rainy night D:

  • Sound like it belongs in Kingdom Hearts. I like it.

  • You should get Josh Chiu to play this

  • Kyle! You move across the entire color spectrum with your sound. I'm especially impressed with your pianistic expression in this piece. To be honest, all of the harmonies are beautiful and so are the rhythmic variations, but I was mesmerized by the sheer power of your piano part. AMAZING JOB!

  • work for square enix? ;D

  • This was epic!

you know you could make songs for video games =)

  • For the most part it was a little too pantonal for me. It's just not really my thing. The "busy" feel may have just been from the mixing (it was much better in headphones). The theme around 2:30 was 150% epic (Inception?), and some of the more inside parts were more palatable for me. I feel like this is you stretching your wings a little bit, and it's definitely great, just not my cup of tea. I really enjoyed the rhythmic elements you used here. Rhythm was the star here.

  • To be honest with you Diane, I'm surprised.

  • Amazing.

  • reminds me of an Arabian night.....but like on the run....constantly....

  • I can't stop listening to this. It's so perfect for writing. <3

  • This is... yeah.

  • this piece scares me...so much energy

  • This one has such a new, energetic sound!! Not that your other ones weren't energetic, lol. I love it!!!

  • Your Sonata's are amazing. I've just seen another side to your creative genius - and it looks good.

  • So much Prokofiev, a hint of Sorabji, some Liszt? All I can say is this is very interesting, very original. Props.

  • Greaaaat :)

  • Comment removed

  • Wow this is awesome. I like your original piano improv style compositions that you usually post but this takes it to a next level.

  • The Violin just got even more Sexier! :D

  • Bravo, that was spectacular. The MIDI was really good, but any chance we could here this played with real instruments? Maybe Josh Chiu would play it for you? Oh and where did you find the art for this video? I would really like to make it a screensaver

  • Sounds like Dungeon music... in a video game.

  • Please make a video of you playing this with another violinist!

  • @HerlockSholmes123 so what?

  • 3:05 = KH2 D:

  • @dasimonster lol i hear it.

  • @dasimonster Look's more like Pirat of the caribian, i don't know.. LOL NO! Kingdon Hearts Of course!!! =O

    Just epic XD

Kile is a good composer. =)

  • Nice :)

  • Interesting composition, very cool.

  • Wow, this is amazing! At parts it reminded me of Legend of Zelda, and then Final Fantasy, & then Kingdom Hearts. But most of all it was just an amazing piece from you. It's all your own!

  • This one, wonderful.

  • The begining is totaly Prokofiev style!! I like It

  • this sounds like it would be fun to play on violin

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm a really big fan of your music, but this one was kinda weird to me. I guess it's just that I'm used to your music having one theme, and the transition between the themes was quite odd and abrupt.

I did thoroughly enjoy 3:04 onwards, though.

  • more inspired by video game soundtracks, right?

  • is this a level where a student of composition is when he is doing his final examn or are you a fckn genius ????

  • I felt like I was following a story, great piece :)

  • Gave me the chills, damn.

  • Around 6:45 is Incredible.

  • Atonal music?

  • Sounds so final fantasy. =) hahahaha

  • Beautiful Kyle! :D. It's amazing!.

    * Please subscribe in my channel :)! *

  • @kylelandry Why not trying to play this piece with Josh, this would be fun don't you think ?

  • @kylelandry Why not trying to play this piece with Josh, this will be fun don't you think ?

  • oh, and... I don't know if this is an aware choice, but consider the idea of founding your composition on a musical form ( h t t p : / / e n . w i k i p e d i a . o r g / w i k i / M u s i c a l _ f o r m )

  • If this was done with Sibelius, how come the Violines sound so different? In my Sibelius, all the strings sound really bad.

  • @shanikuzai Same here

  • Why don't you ask your friend Josh to play this instead of playing the violin by MIDI? :D I hate MIDIs

  • It sounds like a dream

  • What about the idea playing this in a collab with Josh Chiu. I think the sound would be a lot better and the idea behind the piece would be more clear.

  • all i have to say is amazing work as always

  • I hope you can find a real violinist to play this with!

  • What midi library is being used?

  • Hey Kylelandry Fans, I have an idea:

How about we all make a collaboration together and make this piece? ^_^

    I can play the piano.

  • Hi, Kyle!

Very, very good. It's a wonderful style and worth to be published not only in YT. Really good. I often played competitions where a "modern piece" was obligatory. I heared a lot of "modern style" and you can really compete with! Really well done!

I hope you will find a real violinist soon...it would sound better. ;)

  • I bet you can play the piano with your toes. Admit it! lol. You know I was thinking kyle, have you heard the song children by Robert Miles? Well Escala does the song on violin and I was thinking it would be cool if you did your version on piano of coarse, and josh could accompany you on the violin. Anyway, just a thought.

  • you are an inspiration for me.

  • Could you make a playlist of your improvisations and perhaps a playlist of your favorite pieces that you've played, or a couple of them anyway, and put it on your channel? I think that It would be amazingly helpful for your viewers.

  • very cool pic

  • this piece reminds me of Kingdomhearts for some reason

  • uhhh I'm not sure what to think of this...maybe it's different when actually played on violin? I don't know...

  • Now I see what it's like in the mind of a schizophrenic, complete MADNESS!! lol, no really, I enjoyed this piece, nice work!

  • @BTOWNPLAYA69 eh, NOT complete madness.

  • Am I a douche for not finding this inspiring? :(

  • @HeartBreak2291 depends lol. Do you listen to a song to be impressed and inspired or to try and understand the song and gain something???

  • @ummmmmmmmpie

I listen to music to be inspired, like my comment suggests. :(

  • Square Enix is next...wait and see >={

  • So when are you going to join the French Symphony Orchestra?

  • @ComputerImprov that would be boring

  • Awesome. Would love to hear this played on a real violin.

  • Kyle, You NEED to get a copy of eastwest orchestra! soundsonline . com / Symphonic - Orchestra It has the most amazing and realistic sounds!! the songs you'd be creating with it would be AMAZING!!!

  • This can be played by an orchestra....Respect....

  • you're so talented. I hope someday you get to hear your compositions with a orchestra or something :)

  • This sounds like it's inspired by serialism.. Schoenberg or Berg, perhaps?

  • @JustinWebbMusic No way! It's not serialism at all.

  • @kylelandry It's inspired by cerealism?

  • @kylelandry

Really? Cause that's what I was thinking, too.

  • @kylelandry Wow I agree though, sounds like something from my university days in a composition recital.

  • the beginning sounds something ibert would do.

  • This sounded confused and cluttered to my ears until I read your description and complied. I stopped everything, closed my eyes, and listened. The notes pieced together and something beautiful formed, in the sounds I heard and in the visions that were summoned behind my eyelids. This is beautiful. Thank you!

  • Kyle,

Please make sheet music. I wanna try this on violin :D

  • @Me2Myself3AndI As I listen to it more, I really think midi doesn't do this composition justice. You gotta let people perform it on true violin. It's the right thing to do!

  • @Me2Myself3AndI There is sheet music. My classical compositions are all thought out note by note on sibelius. That's why it takes months and months of work to create.

    KL

  • I think I here some Final Fantasy at 3:05 :) In fact, the whole segment from 3:00-4:00 reminds me of one of the battle themes. Awesome work, man.

  • OMG, Kyle, you need to be recognized throughout the UNIVERSE. SWEET JESUS, you're my inspiration, ever ~~:3

  • My reaction to seeing this on my subscription feed:

"*GASP* A VIOLIN SONATA FROM KYLE OMFG"

    Beautiful!

  • It's a very interesting piece. I really like the atmosphere though ^o^ May I try playing this piece? hehe

  • @conversegrlsgonewild Sure, I may sell the sheets on my website. (it will include violin part, and full score)

  • @kylelandry Any idea when the sheets of the first album will appear?

  • @kylelandry Awesome :) Looking forward to it.

  • Gorgeous song. I love the image in the background! The man is so small that I scarcely noticed him. :]

  • @CaioLugon probably because he is trying to get youtube partnership, so he made another channel for original songs and is uploading the original songs onto this one too. :]

  • I really like your more classical works. What's your influence for this piece? It sounds 20th century.

  • why so many original songs all of a sudden?

    either way, thanks!

  • Love it!!! Magical:)

  • hi kyle love your work

we love you work here in England please say hi ?

  • Do you have any idea what the picture is by the way? I love it

  • Ganna go listen to Scriabin after this ;} Put me in the right mood I think.

  • Just amazing is all i can say! You remind me of all those great classical composers! So talented. :)

  • Is Josh Chiu doing the violin part? lol im just guessing

  • @EddieUon It's midi.

  • that why i love the pianoo!! i love this type of songs :)

  • This reminds me of the Castlevania series xD this is awesome!

  • Damn, I was second >.>

  • So interesting, I love it!

    AND FIRST! :D

  • Woah.
