Know anything what happened in the year 1983 when he was still the Pres.? 1983 saw the Philippines announcing to its debtors that it can no longer pay its debt (both interest & loan). Yan ba ang umunlad? Central Bank na nya ang nagdeklara nuon, meaning bankarote na ang gobyerno nya nuon. Ung nakita/nalaman mong "unlad" panay showcase lang, para maipakita na may ginagawa sya.

GreatImperium - the 500 million in foreign banks is actually thier money it was rendered back to the Philippine govt. because Imelda did not have enough knowledge of where it came from to prove it was from the wealth of Ferdiand before he was even a President. When a New Loyalist and Marcos is re installed into power all that money will be returned fully. It is a full circle you cannot keep money that belongs to the owners, we all know that is the way life goes !

they said he killed thousands and yet the media never showed the thousands of bodies
they said they stole millions and yet they cannot even take all of Imeldas money or shut down ALL her accounts why! Maybe because if we know or read or are at the court hearings we would find out that F.Marcos was already rich before he was a President depositing large sums in banks.

he did steal millions and hid them in foreign accounts. ever heard of the 500 million US dollars he embezzled in Swiss banks which were eventually returned to the Philippines in 1998? do you really think his family was rich enough to have that amount of money, and 1990's money at that before inflation? just research it from respected international news organizations and and you will find out.

also, the US govt. never cared for the Philippines, and the US defense secretary clearly stated that even though it was funding the Marcos regime, it had no interest in the internal politics and condition of the Philippines. Therefore, how could we listen to the US if it never participated in the first place, and if it did,it would have stopped the People Power revolution.

yes countries take in debt for growth, but if you look at the philippines during his regime, the debt amounted to $ 27 billion, while economic growth only averaged 1.4%, compared to the 3.5% before his regime. the philippines could have had the same arrangements as those countries, but dictatorship and ineffective leadership scared away those foreign investors who were willing to go to the philippines and build factories there.
