I hate that the Shukaku was taken out since that's what set his character, but I love the fact that he can still control the sand fully. I only know because in the manga where the five kages meet, he's still carrying the gourd. Gaara is my favorite character too!
same here his demon made him so much more lovable as a character.. i mean he is still awesome it is bitter sweet because that is why people were never nice to him
