it looks like you have too much knifes and too few water and food. The concept of a bug out bag is that you can survive for three days, which means 6 litters of water and 6000 calories of food. It looks like you mixed the concepts of survival bag and bug out bag. One more thing, you don't have toilet paper, essential for personal higiene.
Do you think you need two large knives? Maybe one large, one small. And how long will your food last? You're thinking light which is good. Maybe too light.
Notice no gun and bullets? No survival bag is complete without at least 2 guns... a shotgun and a pistol. Viva La Second Amendment. 100' Thick Rope, 200' medium cord, knife w/ blade sharpener. Bic lighters, I keep 2 rolls of plastic bags so I can more easily make a waterproof shelter. Extra bottles. How long is 1 litre of water gonna last you? 3 liters per day in arrid climates. This guy does have one smart necessary item in the book on edible plants. GOTTA HAVE IT.
you forgot the porn mag, every 1 always forgats the wack it packit. Nudy pic's, lube, nipple clamps butt plug, I mean what you gona do if you have to bug out? you gona just never bust a nut again, or jack off to rabits?
If you want to survive with any degree of comfort, get rid of these items and fill the largest backpack available with approximately $2,000 worth of high quality gear then spend another $1,000 for training. Then you may last for a week or so.Otherwise don't leave the comfort of your home.Words to the wise.Take heed and learn.

A small ignition file to sharpen the saw and multitool with pliers to kerf the saw teeth.Suburbs has fruit trees lemon, tangerines, oranges, apples, apricots, loquats, etc. Even green fruit has vitamins. A windshield recon and a map of known fruit trees can help. Binos can help spot resources.
As of 2005, the official estimate of the population of the Los Angeles metropolitan area is more than 12.9 million, while in 2009 the larger five-county region had a population of over 17.6 million. When the dirty bombs start going off, how do you predict how the people will react? Hint: Not nice.
I would add a small stainless steel mesh to capture any debris when filling up water from streams/lakes. The water can tan be boiled for sanitation. Better yet, integrate the stainless steel mesh into the neck of your drinking bottle
Maybe try a hydration compatible pack, it must be very uncomfortable to have that canteen bouncing up and down. Also a hydration pack would allow you to ergonomically access your water while you are moving fast, as well as carry more water.
Did I miss your "Fire starter"? How about plastic drop cloth for shelter? Flashlight? Good start though...keep evolving. In case of needing to "bug out", I think the biggest threat is going to be from the "two legged variety". I also think that Martial Law will be called and ALL will be disarmed, shot or jailed (camps). I fear that America is getting closer to a dictatorship and lawlessness. Patriots will be labeled terrorists. Get some camo clothing!
@wigwamman1 I agree, there should be a magnesium fire starter, a P-38, about 100' of 550 cord, and a type of shelter. I use chemlights and flashlights. Oh and one should know how to use the stuff before it is actually needed.
@Whiskey136 An economy is based on gold/silver the dollar just represents it, if it collapses pple will probably be trading anything from bullets to gold/silver as currency.
Anytime I see one of those little orange trowels in someone's kit, I automatically think "you've never really used this stuff, have you?" I think that shows up in about 1 out of every 2 of these sort of videos.
You'd be better off to just carry a big stick. Because that little orange piece of junk sure isn't going to work any better for digging.
If you're going to carry a shovel, carry one that works.
It is all too nice, now go out there and use it. It looks too clean. Also if i may, you should use a metal canteen, the best water treatment you can have is boiling the water.
I would take into caution that you might have to bug out in both warm and cold seasons. Because of that, I would suggest not having individual bags for seasons but have a pack, like the Snugpak Bergen which allows you to take the 2 very roomy, nice outer pouches and make an individual backpack. That's just my constructive criticism. Other than that, nice vid.

Ive had bug out bag since 1982. When the threat of Russian invassion, RED DAWN RIISING! Poncho, large Rambo knive, Fishing tackle, Fire starter, matches , bic lighter, Water profing, BDUs, Rope , Hammock to get off the ground, first aid kit. water tabloids. Ive got one in the garage,All the Gas ,Oil shortages, all you got is your feet. I was former Soldier so , Get your gear on! Go find defensable position. HAAAAAAAA There people out there thinking like i do.
@GalaticSpaceHero Instead of trying to go it by car, as gas shortage will eventually take place as well as roads being clogged. My family will be making our way via bicycles. You can get them fairly cheap and easy requires nothing but you, and faster than walking. Another thing I think is important is a bandanna. VERY useful im many diff ways, and cheap, easy and lightweight.
@NibirREVOLUTION2011 Your right! Fuel shortages, your left walking or riding electric gulf cart. After the the 4 th week i garuntee people start fighting over supplies. They try take your supplies. I was in Florida durring the hurricanes .I went threw Charlie, Fact !
@GalaticSpaceHero fuel isnt a concern for people like me.... I own several high quality mountain bikes, they go places most vehicles cant, repairs are a lot easier, they run on pedal power, they cross streams, mountains and anything else that gets thrown at them, all i would need is a pack on me and a pack on the bike and im gone
@The2012waiting Yea, i was in North Ft Myers, I was racing down I75 doing hundred, state trooper got out there chasing me , I guess when he heard the hurricane was comming a shore , he throttle it down passed me,next i was chasing him..The stop lights were swinging like crazy ! I threw on my flashers and speed carefully threw stop lights just as the hurrican hit. I thought i saw that troopers hat flying up in the clouds.
This bag looks like a good start. I acknowledge it is unfinished here. May I suggest a simple cigarette lighter as a primary firestarter. A ferrocerium rod is an excellent backup. Dryer lint is really good tinder if you keep it dry. Vaseline-impregnated cotton balls (lint does not work here) will light even in the rain. Keep up the good work!
So I'm not trying to act like I know it all, because I'm 17, and I'm just starting to learn about this stuff. But wouldn't you want as little weight as possible? Why would you carry a plant book? memorize what you need and leave it out, likewise with the 6 ways in 12 ways out, thats probably 2 pounds lighter already, then you could put a couple of extra food rations or whatever in...what do you think?
@Rossco139 Too many deadly plants resemble edible plants. He'd have to be an expert. Also, 6 Ways is an excellent bare-essential survival manual. It is written to by the professionals who teach our special forces troops how to survive in the wild. These two books will help you procure much more food than you could carry instead. You should read these books before deciding to toss them.
Got rid of my Marlin .22 rifle in favor of a Henry AR7 that I picked up at a gun show for about 250. fits in my Bob. one of the walmart 11.98 brown and silver tarps 9/11 I think Instead of a lot of Paracord I just have a 2.00 roll of trotline and an old spool of Spider Wire. Two Ferro Rods counting the one on my BG knife. Also a full size Kukri knife. There's a realy good video from the Pathfinder School on Moding a Machete that I'm going to do with my Kukri. ;)
@Carrol75431 I wish they made AR7 in 17 hmr. im just going to stick with my 12 gauge, i can switch from slugs to bird shot depending on what i need to hunt or defend against. Get a hold AK your a step further in the survival game. Next you have to Gear up and go in the woods and see if it all works.
Ahh just seen you do have some paracord around your knife sheath. Still never hurts to have a whole 100ft roll. Its invaluable in tying together a shelter/lean-to.
You need a map/compass/GPS, duct tape, paracord, a multitool (ie. leatherman) snare wire and a gun. Knives may never run out of bullets but its hard to kill a rabbit or squirrel by throwing a knife. I use a .22 the ammo is cheap and takes up very little space. BOBs are usually only meant for 3 days or so, but if things got really bad having some snare wire and a pistol (.22 or CO2) will be well worth the extra weight. Just some suggestions.
well i not got a bug out bag yet but can make one in a day got it all ready to find. Now if you go out in the woods to stay do not leave your car at your start point going in the woods use a bicycle then hide it good
well i not got a bug out bag yet but can make one in a day got iy all ready to find. Now if you go out in the woods to stay do not leave your car at your start point going in the woods use a bicycle then hide it good
I would dump the canteen, saw and one of the knives. Bring a 32oz bottle of water. In a bug out situation you are not going to be doing any cooking or making soup. You just need a bag that will keep you going for 3 days.... moving quickly.. getting you to your rally point where you have pre-positioned your supplies. My bob bag is in my trunk.. it has Athletic shoes, my P22, 100 rounds, 2 bottles of water, 4000 cals of food, small tarp, black shirt and hat, leathermen, First Aid. That is it.
You Americans look like you are waiting for something terrible to happen. Perhaps you foresee your collective comeuppances on account of the terrible crimes you government commits in far places?
Maybe you Americans actually think you will live forever especially during a natural disaster like Katrina or an invasion like how you invaded and killed 1 million Iraqis.
@BoycottIsrahell You are an idiot, this is in ontario canada and hes always been a CANADIAN citizen we give tons of food and financial aid to Israel and Palestine, whatever country you come from im sure they're embarrassed by you right about now... and i think maybe we shouldnt help you guys out anymore with that attitude in the future
You Canadians are guilty too. You have allowed zionists to infest your country to the extent that they attacked David Ahenakew, National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, for his highly critical comments on the fascist Israel and their horrific attack on the indigenous Palestinians.
And that smirking animal and zionist Stephen Harper who you elect to send you murder mad soldiers to kill Afghanis and Iraqis is a crime that must be answered.
@BoycottIsrahell oh so now you change your tune? thats hilarious first you hate on us because were american than when i call you an idiot because were actually canadian you shift the blame, suddenly is canada you were talking about? youre a fuckin joke buddy go back to locking your women in closets and keeping your children ignorant and worshiping the cult of a make believe person in the sky..... youre lucky harper obeys the rules of engagement cause i wouldnt....
LOL pretty boy you forgot sunscreen and foot lotion. You forgot perhaps you might need to update your position on facebook too. and don't forget your "scarf" wool and cotten are popular
@ryancicocki your correct. guns are always worth something. im not arguing that you DONT need a gun. just saying dont overlook the usefull ness of a knife. you can carry a knife sharpner easier than alot of amo, knives never run out of bullets... so to say. yes i have guns, yes i have amo, chest rig... all that... your gun should be your Primary weapon.. just dont forget the little things like a good knife... or 3... lol. a gun has one purpouse, a good knife has many.
@glockfan5193 think about taking the gun apart down to component...even the bullets....and by the way....no survival kit is complete without 550 chord
Wow thats great! You are missing one thing though....a firearm. Knives are great but I doubt you would be able to kill say a deer with just a knife if you can kudos to you.
@ryancicocki i agree totally about needing a firearm. i just want to point out, don't be dependent on any one piece of equipment. be able to adapt. guns fail and run out of amo. as for killing a deer with a knife.... or any game or person, zombie or whatever. you can, but its not ideal. tie knife to stick, you have a spear. use knife to make a TRAP and that's priceless and more valuable than any firearm... i'm just sayin... and i think this kit in the video needs rope or 550 cord or something.
@glockfan5193 The good thing about guns is they will always be worth something especially in times of disaster. But yes if I could only grab two things it would be my WASR-10 Ak-47 and my Swiss army knife.
Okay man, I had a first aid kit exactly like yours. In an effort to trim weight I ditched the yellow container and put the contents in one of my zip locks. Do this unless you intend to use the container for something else like a cup or digging tool. Where is your tent? - you will need one!
@urkingod it is my opinion and just my opinion.... if you have limited gear. but you want more than one bag so that they are stationary... car, home, work and you dont have to worry about it, its there and you know if theres a problem you got your bag. thats a good idea, IF you have a plan AND a backup plan. example... your primary bag with the main things you need could be kept in your car( flash light, first aid, food ect) this can aid you in any roadside emergency also.
@urkingod the gear at work, should compliment what is in the car. (as well as the bag at home) but you should be able to survive for a minimum of 24 hours on any given bag or separated portion. now for the plan... do you need to get home? or do you need to get out of town? this is the most important part of what you need in your bag. if you need to just make it home to hold up in the safety of home, you wont need the same things as if you were leaving town.
@urkingod so you have to decide... whats your mission? whats your goal? whats your destination. figure this out and you can separate your items easily with comfort knowing each bag is serving a TEMPORARY purpose to get you to the next point of your survival plan. these bags are not SURVIVAL bags, but they are to aid you to overcome basic obstacles to make it to your safe zone, wherever that is for you.
Why is it that i don't see anyone ever have any type of two way communication devices like a CB or 2-meter ham hand held? I must be the only one that has packed BOTH in my BOB
I would cash in the silver and buy some ammunition. Post apocalypse, ammo will be more valuable than most precious metals pound for pound.
And IF you decide to keep precious metals, perhaps you should also invest in Platinum and Palladium. Those will be extremely valuable for manufacturing electronics after the apocalypse.
@yeno34 They are fragile and if it was small enough to carry it could barely power a lightbulb, you are better off getting a dynamo(crank operated) lantern with a radio, some can even charge a cell phone and most come with an emergency red blinker
@yeno34 An ipod uses as much energy as a cell phone so you could charge it with the flashlight, if you like it then carry it but I think a portable solar panel does not produce enough energy to be worth carrying when you need to walk in excess of 10 or 15 miles during an emergency
@luckynumber58 good start my friend, I would add some type of fire kit, fishing kit and a tarp of some type even if its a heavy duty 55 gal drum liner. Good job!
Nice bag! It is great so see a more lightweight bug out bag as usually you see people with massive, redundant, 30-50 pound packs. Mobility is very important to me, so I have my own Bug Out Bag weight around 5 kilos (roughly 10 pounds) at most, unless I have to carry more water or a sleeping bag.
Nice to see you've even got one of those inexpensive plastic shovels. Those are outstanding and very lightweight. I finally broke the tip on one because I was digging in loose granite but overall, they're hard to beat. County Comm now sells the "U-dig-It" folding stainless shovel albeit at the penalty of expense and weight. Great video!

You can replace the mosquito netting/jacket for a handful of ant pile dirt. Just rub it on your exposed skin and you are all set. Yes you get dirty but it repels all sorts of pests including wasps/bees.
@skindresser You are right about the population, but I was trying to suggest trade items that might be more practical than silver coins . . . in case you do need to interact with people on your way out of town.
I haven't watched The Colony because I know its fake . . . in a real situation, the first thing that would happen is the men would rape all the women, and I haven't heard about that happening on the Colony so it can't be real.
I understand your logic with carrying the silver coins, but I would carry something that certain people will really be desperate for . . . I suggest a bag of weed and some rolling papers, or a few packs of cigarettes, or a bag full of tampons. They would also be lighter to carry.
@tomi3557 silver coins wills till maintain their value even after a total collapse of a nation while the fiat-currency (in this case i guess the USD) will probably fall victim to a superinfaltion. and every human being has it's price...so to speak...
@bermudaricky silver coins will maintain their value even after a total collapse of a nation while the fiat-currency (in this case i guess the USD) will probably fall victim to a superinfaltion and be more than worthless. the best use for them greens would be the use as burning material.... and every human being has it's price...so to speak...

Ive got one in the garage,All the Gas ,Oil shortages, all you got is your feet. I was former Soldier so , Get your gear on! Go find defensable position. HAAAAAAAA There people out there thinking like i do.
GalaticSpaceHero 9 months ago
@GalaticSpaceHero Instead of trying to go it by car, as gas shortage will eventually take place as well as roads being clogged. My family will be making our way via bicycles. You can get them fairly cheap and easy requires nothing but you, and faster than walking. Another thing I think is important is a bandanna. VERY useful im many diff ways, and cheap, easy and lightweight.
NibirREVOLUTION2011 8 months ago
@NibirREVOLUTION2011 Your right! Fuel shortages, your left walking or riding electric gulf cart. After the the 4 th week i garuntee people start fighting over supplies. They try take your supplies. I was in Florida durring the hurricanes .I went threw Charlie, Fact !
GalaticSpaceHero 8 months ago
@GalaticSpaceHero fuel isnt a concern for people like me.... I own several high quality mountain bikes, they go places most vehicles cant, repairs are a lot easier, they run on pedal power, they cross streams, mountains and anything else that gets thrown at them, all i would need is a pack on me and a pack on the bike and im gone

DarcMac 10 months ago
So I'm not trying to act like I know it all, because I'm 17, and I'm just starting to learn about this stuff. But wouldn't you want as little weight as possible? Why would you carry a plant book? memorize what you need and leave it out, likewise with the 6 ways in 12 ways out, thats probably 2 pounds lighter already, then you could put a couple of extra food rations or whatever in...what do you think?
Rossco139 11 months ago

There's a realy good video from the Pathfinder School on Moding a Machete that I'm going to do with my Kukri. ;)
Carrol75431 11 months ago
@Carrol75431 I wish they made AR7 in 17 hmr. im just going to stick with my 12 gauge, i can switch from slugs to bird shot depending on what i need to hunt or defend against. Get a hold AK your a step further in the survival game. Next you have to Gear up and go in the woods and see if it all works.

Add about three flares to your kit. I did not see a poncho in your bag. Otherwise, it looks great.
stackedhippiechick 11 months ago
Ahh just seen you do have some paracord around your knife sheath. Still never hurts to have a whole 100ft roll. Its invaluable in tying together a shelter/lean-to.
jambog82 11 months ago
You need a map/compass/GPS, duct tape, paracord, a multitool (ie. leatherman) snare wire and a gun. Knives may never run out of bullets but its hard to kill a rabbit or squirrel by throwing a knife. I use a .22 the ammo is cheap and takes up very little space. BOBs are usually only meant for 3 days or so, but if things got really bad having some snare wire and a pistol (.22 or CO2) will be well worth the extra weight. Just some suggestions.

@Taud
These are terrible deeds by Canada.

dhudson369 1 year ago
@ryancicocki your correct. guns are always worth something. im not arguing that you DONT need a gun. just saying dont overlook the usefull ness of a knife. you can carry a knife sharpner easier than alot of amo, knives never run out of bullets... so to say. yes i have guns, yes i have amo, chest rig... all that... your gun should be your Primary weapon.. just dont forget the little things like a good knife... or 3... lol. a gun has one purpouse, a good knife has many.
glockfan5193 1 year ago 30
@glockfan5193 think about taking the gun apart down to component...even the bullets....and by the way....no survival kit is complete without 550 chord
jraybu09 9 months ago
Wow thats great! You are missing one thing though....a firearm. Knives are great but I doubt you would be able to kill say a deer with just a knife if you can kudos to you.
ryancicocki 1 year ago
@ryancicocki i agree totally about needing a firearm. i just want to point out, don't be dependent on any one piece of equipment. be able to adapt. guns fail and run out of amo. as for killing a deer with a knife.... or any game or person, zombie or whatever. you can, but its not ideal. tie knife to stick, you have a spear. use knife to make a TRAP and that's priceless and more valuable than any firearm... i'm just sayin... and i think this kit in the video needs rope or 550 cord or something.
glockfan5193 1 year ago
@glockfan5193 The good thing about guns is they will always be worth something especially in times of disaster. But yes if I could only grab two things it would be my WASR-10 Ak-47 and my Swiss army knife.

I got me four bags. But How do I separate them for its purpose ?
I got one shoulder carry bag 2000 Cubic inches (5.11 24 hrs) for a house
I got one messenger bag ( Maxpedition active shooter Bag) for a Car
I got two small pouches to go with them. Now, How should I separate its contents from main vs small pouch ?
urkingod 1 year ago
@urkingod it is my opinion and just my opinion.... if you have limited gear. but you want more than one bag so that they are stationary... car, home, work and you dont have to worry about it, its there and you know if theres a problem you got your bag. thats a good idea, IF you have a plan AND a backup plan. example... your primary bag with the main things you need could be kept in your car( flash light, first aid, food ect) this can aid you in any roadside emergency also.
glockfan5193 1 year ago
@urkingod the gear at work, should compliment what is in the car. (as well as the bag at home) but you should be able to survive for a minimum of 24 hours on any given bag or separated portion. now for the plan... do you need to get home? or do you need to get out of town? this is the most important part of what you need in your bag. if you need to just make it home to hold up in the safety of home, you wont need the same things as if you were leaving town.
glockfan5193 1 year ago
@urkingod so you have to decide... whats your mission? whats your goal? whats your destination. figure this out and you can separate your items easily with comfort knowing each bag is serving a TEMPORARY purpose to get you to the next point of your survival plan. these bags are not SURVIVAL bags, but they are to aid you to overcome basic obstacles to make it to your safe zone, wherever that is for you.

I would cash in the silver and buy some ammunition. Post apocalypse, ammo will be more valuable than most precious metals pound for pound.
And IF you decide to keep precious metals, perhaps you should also invest in Platinum and Palladium. Those will be extremely valuable for manufacturing electronics after the apocalypse.

why dosn't anyone have a small solar panel in their bob?
yeno34 1 year ago
@yeno34 They are fragile and if it was small enough to carry it could barely power a lightbulb, you are better off getting a dynamo(crank operated) lantern with a radio, some can even charge a cell phone and most come with an emergency red blinker
bagman234 1 year ago
@bagman234 no i have one that could easily power an ipod and the solar panel part is olny about 5x4
yeno34 1 year ago
@yeno34 An ipod uses as much energy as a cell phone so you could charge it with the flashlight, if you like it then carry it but I think a portable solar panel does not produce enough energy to be worth carrying when you need to walk in excess of 10 or 15 miles during an emergency

Oops, double post.

ThetaGen 1 year ago
