  • Why does it look like there's a lot more stuff on the circuit board then there is the parts list. I'm making 1 right now but I just realized that my motors are bipolar, 4 wires. How can I make a controller for 3 bipolar motors? That's a really good job by the way and the reason I was going to build 1.

  • So did u make that board by yourself??? How?

  • Maybe ready to slow dance I don't know about rock and roll with this blast from the dropping resistor past. What is the top RPM speed you can achieve with this anachronism? If anyone is interested in stepping into the 21st century they can check out a driver on my YouTube page. It is a bipolar chopper drive. P.S. Mine's a LOT easier too!

  • driver is fine it is working for me thanks tom

  • Could you sell me one?

  • is that pooding

  • Hello,

HOw are you? HOw do I wire up a 31 pin centronics instead? I didn't realize it was a 31 pin and I already have the cable from before. Does anybody know?

    Thanks,

    Tre

  • @abtra I mean 36- pin!

  • @abtra

@abtra I found it! For anyone looking.

    ktmarketing

  • @abtra

I found it but I can't post the link... stupid spammers!

search 25 pin to 36 pin the site was

    ktmarketing/parallel.htm

there's a dot com after the ktmarketing!

  • @abtra So I need to know what x clock is referring to... Any body have any experience with it?

  • @abtra

X is moving to left or right

Y is moving to front or back

Z is moving to up or down

  • lol low frequencys in this your audio hehhe my woofer almost burned out xD

  • hi i am from serbia a bilt this driver and work perfect i wont to say thanks ..you are a legend... i bild one cnc router home made works exellent.....this man save me a money and i just wont to say thanks whoever you are....my englis is not good but i hope to you can understand...pozz

  • hi I am from serbia I have bild this driver and works exelent great video, may a ask for some help about steper motors where I can find the large stepers

  • Do you have schematics of those stepper motor driver?

  • Very informative. Thank you for the post!

  • Man you shoul have put the MOSFET's not front to back, but in line, side by side... to that way you can put a refrigeration metal plate nailed to them... they will burn real fast that way..

  • video cameras are cheap

  • can you explain how to make it?pls

  • nice mate

  • plz help me do one...super ...

  • Is that a six wire stepper motor? I'm building this and i thought it was four. please answer. thanks a lot mate

  • When u have 4 wire it is bipolar stepper, when u have 5 to 8 wire it is unipolar. Driver for unipolar can't control bipolar !!! As I see his stepper is 6 wire just like u wrote, so it is unipolar...

  • @milek021 This is not completely correct. Bipolar stepper motors are generally 4 wire, Unipolar motors are 5 wire. The 5th wire being a ground. 6 and 8 wire stepper motors can wired either as bipolar or unipolar depending upon the configuration needed.

In unipolar motors the current flows through each coil in one direction to ground, in bipolar motors the current is switched in direction through each coil. These motors are 5 wire therefore unipolar.

  • @Tailgunner30

Wrong, the 5th wire is COM, can be ground or Vcc, actually in most motors is Vcc.

  • wow that bass sounds good.

  • Zzzzzzzzzzz

  • Tom you're the greatest!!

  • very enthusiastic

  • What are the components mosfets, and what are those other chips on there.

  • too litle information

  • hello i have made your circuit board but i have one question i have stepper motors that have only 4 wires how can i conect them to the board if any one knows please help thank you

  • I'm thinking of using 2 x cd4028 per motor, one turning on pins 1-2-3-4, and the other pins 2-3-4-1 in that order. In doing so, the coils are activated like in the previous comment. At least in theory :)

  • Controlling steppers is as easy as 1 2 3 4 :)

Very nice work. Simple and elegant.

I'm trying to control the stepper with 2 coils at the same time, for extra torque. Do you have any idea as how it can be done using extra mosfets or something? For example: step 1 - coil1+coil2, step 2 - coil2+coil3, step 3 - coil3+coil4 and step 1 - coil4+coil1

I'm flipping my wig trying to come up with a circuit for this

    Thanx!

  • that's step 4 - coil4+coil1

  • hi i have built the circuit board that you are displaing and i am sorry to say that i cant make it work pleace help me i know that i have not use come of the parts that you use but if you can give me some guide i will thak you

  • me gustaria saber cual es el soft asociado a tu hard. thank you. muy bueno el video.

  • Well done. great ahievement and thanks for the instructables!

How much did it dost to make the driver board with three drivers?

what is the difference between your drivers and the $100 gecko drives ?

    Thanks

  • THANKS VERY NICE ,BRILLIANT

    ZACH

  • You made the PC software?

  • holy crap you got skills, but how do us less skilled folk get ahold of premade items to make a homemade cnc work?

also do you sell any of these you make?

  • it is a real offense ..... if you can not reward him for this good work, then your silence will be better :)

  • Next step, learn the meaning of "easy"...

  • Bahahaha!!! Burn

  • 2:54 Ouch lol

  • I am impressed with you design r u interested in selling one kit to me I want for 10N/M stepper motor three axis control for position do get in touch with if your interested

  • Where i can find schematics of this ?

  • I think I might be in love with you..

    Honestly, that looks sweet.

  • WHATS THE LOUD THUMP ALL ABOUT

  • He's breathing onto the microphone.

  • where is the software

  • i intrested this cnc machine wonderfull idea with pipe design but where i get schematics and software for easy cnc mill please send reply mraspot@gmail.com

  • Yeah! Is there schematics for this??? Looks intresting!

  • hi, i just want to know how to build the controler...

    thanks
