load this vid up, then mute it. in another tab load up "Alice in Chains - The Rooster". Hit play on the Rooster then quickly switch tabs and hit play on this vid. turn up the volume and make the video full screen. it syncs up so well, especially the orange fish in the beginning.
Spectacular footage of my favorite spot as a kid. I dove there in the early 70's with my dad. It looks to be well cared for and at least as nice as it was 40 years ago. Nice buoyancy control and camera handling in the surge. Good stuff. Thanks.
Nice work John. I remember that place very well. When I taught for Liburdi's in the early to mid 90's that is where we did all the checkout dives for students. You caught it on an exceptional day for conditions. My favorites are still Shaws Cove and Cresent Bay (Seal Rock).
I miss being able to just drive down Laguna Canyon Road and be in the water in nothing flat.
What kind of starfish is that at 4:45? I've been diving SoCal for a while now and I've never seen one like that. Was it crawling or was it just the current pushing it along?
No. its a game refuge. If we killed creatures there we might as well change the name because diver would eventually quit diving there once the critters are gone.
your welcome. I shot some new video a couple of weeks ago when the Santa Ana Winds were blowing. Vis was about 35'. I haven't edited it yet but intend to.
Great, the surf has picked up a little in the last day but the visibility is still fair. Santa Ana's are keeping things warm in So. Cal. You should have a good time.
Thanks Guys. I find it so interesting how so many people dis beach diving and after reviewing video taken from such a heavily dove location and seeing so much marine life its puzzling. Whats even better, It's FREE !

Beautiful Shots! Dove Shaw's last week and had epic vis. Looks like I'll be coming back down to hit up divers. Thanks for the footage!

Excellent video, I must say I like the lighting!

Thanks Bob, I can't wait to get back and do some more. The lights are from Salvo. They are twin 35 watt HID's with large reflectors. I love them.
Keep up the good video work, John walker
