  • @obesehairydog Because of money my friend, if it was cheap and clean, oil and petrolleum companies would loose a lot of money, and if you had billions, unless you were a very good person, (wich is not the case of many billionaries) you would spend the money on oil or petrolleum ocmpanies because they would give you WAY more money.

Its just a sad fact my friend. The world moves according to money. Filthy, disgusting money.

  • @obesehairydog

They would prefer to wait, all the while saying, "nuclear fusion will NEVER work. It is impossible." Then, when ignition is reached and proven to be viable...they will invest a few dollars in commercializing it and make more billions...all the while, criticizing government beuracrats and scientists and talking about how "government is always the problem, never the solution". They will steal all the credit for something they had nothing to do with...they always have........

  • I disagree with C02 as a pollutant. Its a natural gas we breath out plants need it to live. The hockety stick is fake and has been disproven. Dont go via the glabal warming scam to get this you dont need to. Just use the science of we need it.

  • @imnormalyournot

Of course CO2 is a pollutant. But, so is oxygen. Anything is a pollutant which dramatically changes the atmospheric composition and can alter earth's climate. In earth's early days, there was much less free-standing oxygen in the atmosphere. Bacteria colonies produced oxygen as a waste product...thereby filling the atmosphere with the oxygen that was poisonous and killed them. What makes both of these things "pollutants" in their respective time periods was the amount rel

  • If you don't think it is a pollutant...go breathe some of it in. What makes a "pollutant" a "pollutant"...is that it is poisonous to the organism which is releasing it. Breathing CO2 can be hazardous to your health...that is why you exhale it as a waste product...and why if you are unable to do so, you will die.

There are plenty of other reasons why increasing CO2 is polluting besides the global warming "hoax", as you put it...reasonable science as I and most educated people would put it

  • Further more...by your logic, there is no such thing as a "pollutant". All vapors are "natural gas". Arsenic can be found in nature; but that hardly means I should dump it in your water supply. If I did so, I would be polluting. Or would I? It is a natural element!

  • This is quite renewable once up and running... all else is NON renewable - It takes lots of windmills to build a windmill... !

  • @obesehairydog nah im just a regular dude who lives on earth and creates miniature earth and space ecosystems.

  • @obesehairydog These guys arent that amazing at all, ive already created a star the size of a basket ball. And now a planet with miniature living human life. now soon i will have a solar system and soon a planet to save earth and these cartoon making losers will be ashamed of themselves.

  • Meh - we already have a perfectly good source of clean fusion energy, located smack in the middle of our solar system. A fraction of the solar energy that hits our planet can power us for the foreseeable future. Man-made fusion just means more expensive centralized power controlled by energy monopolies.

  • SandustanBrasov

    • Exists already the device of production and introduction's electromagnetic field flux for the electromagnetic trap in a spherical chamber of thermonuclear combustion. See the scheme of the tomb stone from Palenque. See on You Tube: Anti-gravity Russian Helicopter. Therefore 30% from projection and experimentation to one thermonuclear reactor controllable with spherical chamber is solved.

  • SandustanBrasov

I am correctly clear in the mode of unfolding of the thermonuclear controllable fusion by man, following and some logical and rational comunications of the spirits(spacial men), and I shall continue that present my opinion in the hope that it will find engineers and physicists which let understand logical and rational the practical unfolding of some experiments, and not the animated unfolding by dogmatic, phylosophical theory and infested with prejudices.

  • • SandustanBrasov

I had thinked a proposal of realisation to one universal vehicle, good on Earth but and in cosmos. The source of energy is a thermonuclear controlled reactor, and the traction is realized through a set of reactive electromagnetic motors. The realization of these, impose a revision and elucidation to some parts from the actual science, which is strangled of the theoretical physics with a series of metaphysical laws and principles.

  • SandustanBrasov

The test for nuclear fusion realisation on Tokamak's installations and with LASER cannot bring anything new for the energetics' future. I bind the thermonuclear controlled reactor schedule by the Sun model , by the reactive electromagnetic motor schedule from Palenque stone's tombe. You see the my project for thermonuclear controlled reactor.

  • Can somebody explain to me how it is that fusion could be considered a 'clean' source of energy? A hydrogen bomb ('fusion' bomb) releases tremendous amounts of radioactivity. A fusion reactor also produces great amounts of radioactivity in the form of neutrons and/or tritium. Neutrons can pass through any solid. Over time they cause most metals to deteriorate and become brittle. What will we build containment vessels out of? How will we dispose of the highly radioactive cont. vessels after use?

  • @Weezot97 You're not even wrong, so, I won't bother.

  • @obesehairydog the reason people arent' investing in it is that many people don't think it is plausible (even if it is possible, the infrastructure to provide the planet with fusion energy might not be practical).. to them it's yet another false hope for unlimited fuel.. just like people aren't investing in solar power because of the initial investments needed, humans will continue to consume fossil fuels until they are gone, and only once we have an energy crisis will be turn to newer sources

  • this video is dated wayback 2008. its 2011 now, what happened? any success? subscribing. :-)

  • NIF is a huge WASTE of money. it is a military project, and will never lead the way to a practical fusion power machine. All the noise about NIF producing energy is absurd marketing spin designed to sell this bloated, overpriced, overbudget military project to the public. Unfortunately, from the comments here, the public is falling for it.

  • FAKE AND GAY! son.

  • @obesehairydog unfortunately the rich people of this planet prefer none renewables because it makes them more money. you dig ?

  • How interesting to see children being educated about NIF, that I as a 62 yr old had never heard about. NIF is not a key to the media obviously. Neatly put together for a child to understand.

  • @obesehairydog You would probably buy a car too ;)

  • thanks

  • The Mayans did not predict the end, they predicted a new dawn for mankind and the end of an age relying on the sun from afar to an age where we embrace the sun in our arms. People should worry not.

  • I hope this project dosen't back fire. The launch date is in 2012. Oh great!!!!

  • @schaefer39 even better they say end of 2012...like in december? -_-

  • I also don't understand how this concept is scalable. The idea alone of compressing objects with lasers somehow logically leads to a dead end for continuous power generation. Correct me if I'm way off base, but ITER or even a stellarator both seem like more efficient and pragmatic ways of going about fusion power.

  • Why are the majority of programs on this aimed directly grade school children or seemingly at a grade school level? I would like some physics please, not rehashing global carbon and yadda yadda.

What are the projected ratios of energy input to output? How do you get continuous output from inserting these pellets via precise robotics? Is there anything around for the scientifically-but-not-professional savvy people in an hour to 2 hour presentation on the NIF?

  • also, for greenhouse gases what about all the plants that "breath" CO², ... hmm... is it really that bad ? going on assumptions instead of facts....distorted truth is still a lie.

  • Extreme Malarky! Marketing is not science.

  • Pray to whaterver god you believe in that these guys make in time before we face a Richad Duncan-esque scenario.

  • without warmth there would be no love making. inefficiency of the human body is what makes us horny

  • He reminds me of Doctor Octavius from Spiderman 2 and he's covering the same subject. That's scary. lol

  • Not could but will be the future if only everyone can see the beauty of fusion. None of the current green tech stands even an inch up to what nuclear fusion as an energy source could be. Sad we wasted all that money on stupid Hydrogen fuel cells.

  • well... if ur rich, buying cars contributes to consumption and saves the economy and the poor

  • @clarionxxx LOL

  • Interesting.

  • later this month, a tiny star will be born on Earth.coutesy of Nif, so how come california gets all the sun, great the future looks bright

  • a tiny star as in a fusion reaction right? thats not scheduled till next year at the least as stated on the site and other videos.

  • watch?v=k5idfQhYw6c.. World's Most Powerful Laser Unveiled

The world's most powerful laser was dedicated at the Livermore National Laboratory in California. It's designed to shore up the nation's aging nuclear weapons. (May 29)

  • Enough with the anthropogenic global warming. When speaking about other planets, he failed to mention how they are all warming as well. This would have been a great presentation if he just stuck to the fusion.

  • But isnt global warming along with depleting oil the whole reason why we are investing in fusion along with other possible energy sources? Investors arent interested in what fusion is but rather what it can do for humanity.

  • GW is BS

  • @jenko701 yes it is greatly exaggerated to sicking levels, however we have warmed the earth some in the past 100 years but over the 1000 years it actual has cooled more then warmed up...they always show it as the past 100 going up, when in fact we are much cooler now then 1000 years ago. but we should get away from fossil fuels anyways because it is old technology, we can do better already...geothermal, tidal, solar even and wind power can do this clean power just as renewable as fusion...

  • Where are the captions? I was told that in NC all video needed to be captioned. I rely on them....

  • The French Laser Mega joule Facility is about the same machine. It`s finished in 2010 and will have 240 lasers compared to the 192 of this NIF.

  • LOLO- ur so lucky ur my girl...UR NEVER GETTING ANY MORE PRESENTS FROM ME EVER!

  • The way he's talking to the audience it's like they're all about 10.

  • Well he has to present his ideas to a broad range of people- what do you think hes going to use Pure Science variables and equations to explain his point?

  • LOL-Thanks to Obama our government now owns the Biggest corporations in the world- and owns a huge stake in the auto industry- if that isnt a clear road to Fascism then i dont know what is. Thanks to Obama again, the robbery of the American people was successful in the form of The Bailouts. Obama also supports FEMA and the building NAFTA freeways connecting Mexico/USA/and Canada. Obama is trying to shove these legislations down our throats without transparency like he promised..IMPEACH!

  • what i just read sounded like a mentally challenged person who jerks off to porn 80 times a day

  • Dont listen to Desirestar86- she doesnt know what shes talking about- she just wants my dick thats all- and im gonna give it to her tonite!

  • Obama cant wait to gas whitey!!!

    ...

  • Very informative, a great primer. Need a copy for my student. For the critics. When you attain perfection cast the first stone. Try the Joe Friday approach and focus on the facts, and let people find their own conclusions.

  • dear god,... this guy isn't he ashamed,...

supposed to be scientis and says there's no

CO2 on mars - ther's 95% of it in the atmosphere, there.

(buy a gun and kill yourself w/ a rock :)

  • "Almost no CO2." He's referring to the sum amount of CO2 on Mars being almost none compared to Venus, rather than the percentage of its atmosphere being made up of CO2.

  • interesting theme, but the guy is so boooring,..god!!!

  • Wow 58 minutes, too much for me, but good video.

  • Really well done. Learned some real science.

  • most most excellent. thank you for posting.
